A luxurious high-performance model based on the BMW E36 3-Series, the Alpina B3 3.0 features an enlarged 3.0-liter straight-six engine, a limited-slip differential, Alpina-tuned suspension, patterned cloth upholstery, Alpina-branded accessories, an aerodynamic body kit, and signature 20-spoke wheels. This 1994 example is finished in Cosmos Black Metallic over Graphite Alpina cloth upholstery and is equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission sending power to the rear wheels. It is believed to be one of only 359 sedan versions produced out of 767 Alpina B3 3.0/1 models produced in total. Originally delivered to Japan, this Alpina B3 3.0 was imported to the U.S. in 2020 and is now being offered for auction out of Colorado with approximately 129k kilometers (~80k miles) showing on the odometer.

This E36 can be distinguished as an Alpina B3 by its front spoiler, side skirts, rear wing, gold Alpina graphics, badging, and 17” 20-spoke Alpina wheels with locking center caps. It is finished in Cosmos Black Metallic and equipped with an electric sunroof, fog lights, aftermarket HID headlamps, window tints, side window rain deflectors, and polished dual exhaust tips. The seller indicates some signs of wear around the exterior including curb rash on the front driver’s side wheel, a scratch in the passenger-side window tint, and faded paint protection film on the underside of the rear spoiler. Service records show the tires were replaced in 2020. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CASRFAX report.

The cabin features manually adjustable sport seats upholstered in Graphite Alpina cloth with matching rear seats and door panels. Accessories include Alpina-branded floor mats, an Alpina wood shift knob, a three-spoke Alpina MOMO steering wheel, blue Alpina-branded instrument dials, and a numbered plaque on the glovebox designating the car as #152. The driver is also provided with air conditioning, power windows and mirrors, an onboard computer, and an aftermarket flip-out Kenwood head unit. The seller notes a rearview parking camera has been installed, although it is currently disconnected from the head unit. The passenger-side A-pillar cover is loose, and some wear is reported on the shift knob.

Based on BMW’s 2.5-liter M50 engine, the Alpina-modified 3.0-liter straight-six delivers up to 247 HP and 243 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission and a 3.15:1 limited-slip differential. The car also features an Alpina-tuned suspension with stiffer Bilstein shock absorbers and lower springs than a standard E36. A major service in 2021 is said to have included replacements of the water pump, pulley, thermostat, fan blade, drive belts, filters, coolant expansion tank, differential service, fuel system cleaning, and a coolant flush. Additional services completed in 2021 include replacement of the thermostat housing and gasket, radiator, valve cover gasket, and a four-wheel alignment. Most recently in June 2024, the car received an oil service, an A/C system recharge, and a new left fuel sender unit.

This sale will include two keys, owner’s manuals, a center cap key, a toolkit, a first aid kit, service records, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know:  "This has been a great ride and was a GREAT experience. I purchased it in December 2020. My 14-year-old son and I flew from Denver to Manhattan. We loved every minute of the 2,000-mile journey from Manhattan to Denver while meandering through 4 college campuses.  I highly recommend whoever is the lucky winner fly in and do the same. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere.  The Japanese Alpina weighs 230 lbs less than the U.S. M3 and 30 lbs less than the U.S. M3 LTW.   I have owned 2 E36 M3’s this was a nice change being more refined in almost all aspects and faster.  I will be around for any questions."

This 1994 Alpina B3 3.0, based on the BMW E36 platform, is a rare and meticulously maintained example of high-performance engineering. With only 359 sedans produced, this car combines Alpina’s signature luxury and performance enhancements, including a 3.0-liter straight-six engine and Alpina-tuned suspension. The car's unique features, such as custom Alpina upholstery, 20-spoke wheels, and branded accessories, add to its exclusivity. The detailed service history and personal story of the seller make it an appealing collector's item for BMW enthusiasts looking for something more refined than the standard E36 M3.

Hi Zakspeed the car has no side skirts. The factory painted the rocker panels in a satin black which also has a slight texture.

Alpina's had same side skirts as factory cars did?
And this has one side skirt (LATE) and none on the other side (Early)?
