Assembled by Karmann in Germany from 1988 until 1995, this Volkswagen Corrado is a 2+2 hatchback coupe regarded as one of the best driver’s cars in its class. The range-topping Corrado offered in the United States was the SLC (Sport Luxury Coupe), featuring a 2.8-liter VR6 engine. Equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission, this 1993 example comes finished in black over tan leather upholstery and features an optional sunroof and automatic braking system. Acquired by the seller from the original owner's son, this example is now being offered for auction out of New York with approximately 135k miles showing on the odometer.
The Corrado's Karmann bodywork is characterized by a short wedge shape and low stance. Details include integrated halogen fog lamps, Euro-style wide-beam halogen headlamps with running lamps, flared wheel arches, and a subtle rear speed-activated spoiler. This example is finished in black and rides on 15” Speedline alloy wheels. Some areas of clearcoat failure are noted, and additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin presents tan leather upholstery that spans the front sport seats, rear bench, and door panels complemented by matching leatherette door trim and velour carpets. Equipment includes a contrasting black four-spoke steering wheel and dashboard, housing a digital clock, a locking glovebox, an optional sunroof, and an upgraded Pioneer radio. Amenities also encompass cruise control, central locking, an anti-theft alarm system, power windows, air conditioning, dual illuminated vanity mirrors, and an electronic rear window defroster. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly.
Power is provided by a naturally aspirated 2.8-liter VR6 inline-six equipped with an iron block and aluminum head along with port fuel injection. As much as 178 HP and 177 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the front wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. The equipment includes a 120-amp alternator, independent MacPherson strut front suspension with a stabilizer bar and telescopic shock absorbers, an independent torsion beam rear axle suspension with gas-pressurized shock absorbers, front and rear coil springs, power-assisted front vented and rear solid disc brakes, and power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering. The seller adds that a coolant hose has been fitted and a recent oil and filter change was performed.

These are a cult classic and deserve enthusiast owners to keep them alive.

@raudikal yes the rear spoiler works as it should while driving and can be raised and lowered from button on the interior left of steering wheel

@raudikal both seatbelts work & on tracks. Sunroof is glass replacement that tilts and slides and AC blows
I owned G60 and VR6 versions of this model.

@BLH944 There are no airbags on this car. The car has window tint that needs to be removed and/or reapplied on the rear window. That is what you see in the photo. Driver and passenger doors have tint as well.
I genuinely love this car design! Is the steering wheel airbag equipped? Does the photo show that the rear window is delaminating? GLWTA!
