Now available for auction is this highly collectible 1993 Porsche 964 RS America finished in Guards Red over a black interior. Under the guidance of racing legend Vic Elford, Porsche set out to create a track oriented, lightweight performance car based on the 964 Carrera 2, which would be called “RS America”. Purchased by its current owner 6 years ago, this RS America has been upgraded with an aftermarket exhaust system, thicker sway bars and a Steve Wong performance chip making it ideal for an avid driving enthusiast. Showing just over 77k miles on the odometer, this 964 is now being offered in excellent driving condition by its seller in California, accompanied by service records, factory parts and the original manuals.
As noted on Carfax, this 964 underwent a full glass-out respray in its factory color of Guards Red during 2008 under previous ownership. The finish is said to be in exceptional condition with only minor blemishes on the rear bumper (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). A distinctive whale tale rear spoiler comes standard on this 964 as well as “RS” designations on the lower rear quarter panels. This RSA rides on factory 17” Cup wheels which are said to remain in excellent condition.
Inside, this RS America features a lightweight black interior. Porsche omitted non-essential amenities such as power steering, cruise control and rear seats while utilizing flat door panels with pull straps and cloth covered sport seats in an effort to maximize weight savings. The result of these strategic weight cutting measures resulted in a 77lb lighter car with greatly improved handling capabilities and a more visceral driving experience. This 964 does offer some creature comforts in the forms of a factory optional sunroof, air conditioning, and a sound system which currently uses an aftermarket radio. The carpets were professionally shampooed last year, and the cabin is reported to be in outstanding condition with all gauges and accessories remaining fully functional.
An air cooled 3.6 L flat-six engine sends 247 HP stock to the rear wheels by way of a G50 5-speed manual transmission with limited slip differential, allowing for a 0-60 time of approximately 4.6 seconds. Prior to the seller’s purchase, this 964 was fitted with an aftermarket Billy Boat exhaust system, upgraded sway bars and a Steve Wong performance chip. Recent maintenance was carried out by TLG Porsche in North Hollywood including a brake fluid flush, oil service and the installation of a new battery. Approximately 250 miles have been travelled since the last oil change and this RS America is noted to be in brilliant driving condition. The original chip, exhaust components and sway bars will be included with the sale.
Accompanying the sale of this special 964 are a set of 2 key, original parts, owner’s manuals, a battery trickle charger, car cover and service records. This RS America offers the perfect opportunity for any passionate air cooled driving enthusiast, do not miss out.

@Ferrelma No damage reported by my investigation with prior owner. Only glass out re paint is what you are seeing. When I flew to Arizona to inspect car and meet with prior owner during PPI he said no damaged just complete re paint from sun fade and rock chips.
@Ferrelma see below.
@FLPcar hello as per the listing and a recent phone call with seller that had to unexpedtly travel, the repaint was done for cosmetics only to bring the car to a high standard. Carfax pulls data from body shops and the shop that did the work sold the information. Hope this helps and best of luck to all.

As the comment below mentioned, can you share any information on the damage reported?
To the seller. Do you know or have documents as to the extend of the damage done in 2008 that seemed to be cause for an entire re-paint. Thank you.

@Singer2020 Hello, The entire car was resprayed and paint meter is shows consistent readings over the whole car. There was no oil leak after TLG inspected. From sitting in storage oil had gathered inside valve covers and seeped out.Marco owner @ TLG said take it for drive! Drove car on nice Santa Barbara Beach and back drive never leaked again.
looks great, was the entire car re-sprayed. any paint meter indications or heavy body work? also how is the leak and was it addressed?
Hello bidders, I am a former professional driver. Drove for the factory Porsche team in 1983 and drove for Kraco in Indy Lights 1986 - 1988. Logged over 2500 laps at Indy testing for Indy car program. Fast lap of 216 mph in 1988. I am very picky about all my cars in my collection. This is a great car that handles and pulls hard and is a joy to drive. I looked at 3 cars before buying this one. You will love how this car drives and handles. Happy bidding.
