We are pleased to present this very special 1993 Porsche 968 Coupe. Representing 1 of only 12 coupes finished in Horizon Blue Metallic and the only example in this color to have been equipped with the M030 Sport Chassis option and limited-slip differential, this 968 is truly one-of-a-kind. With some major service items addressed in recent years, this beautifully presented 968 is now being offered by its seller in Virginia accompanied by a clean title, Carfax report, and Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.
The rare Horizon Blue Metallic finish is reported to be in great overall condition except for a few small chips as depicted in the photo gallery. The driver’s side rear quarter panel has been professionally refinished for cosmetic purposes and the windshield has been replaced under the current ownership. European bumperettes and indicator lights have been installed and the factory Cup wheels have been recently refinished and dressed in Firehawk Indy 500 tires.
The Classic Grey partial leather interior is said to be in excellent condition with only minor wear exhibited on the driver’s seat. Lloyd’s Porsche floor mats have been added, a new shift knob has been installed, and the original radio has been retained. The seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be working properly including the air conditioning system which was fully serviced in 2019.
This 968 is equipped with a 3.0 L inline 4-cylinder engine paired with a 6-speed G44 manual transaxle featuring an optional limited-slip differential. 236 HP stock is sent to the rear wheels providing for a 0-60 time of approximately 6 seconds. This 968 is reported to be the only Horizon Blue Metallic example to have been factory equipped with the M030 Sport Chassis option first offered in 1993. An aftermarket RS Barn cat-back exhaust has been installed along with Bilstein Turbo Cup rear shock absorbers and a high-flow airbox. The original exhaust system is included and the car has been kept in excellent running order with the following items recently addressed under the current ownership at the corresponding intervals:
This sale will include a set of 4 keys, a car cover, front bra, the original exhaust, U.S. bumperettes, and turn signals, the original shift knob, service records dating back to 1994, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, a clean title, and the original tools, jack and spare tire. For any vintage transaxle enthusiast, this one-of-a-kind 968 is not to be missed.

@911or968 I do not have additional info on the number the car was in 1993. Wish I had it at hand.
@911or968 great point, it has the rear wiper. I removed it and put a plug in as I like the look better. The car comes with the original rear wiper and rear wiper motor. The rear wiper is fully functional.
@L1MTD thanks for pointing it out. They are not installed currently, but come with the car and are in great shape and fully functional.
@Frech446
Can you clarify if the car has the rear wiper, a Vinanalytics run of the VIN states the car was originally equipped and the switch appears to be in place.
Also, has it been confirmed this the 3rd 968 coupe built in 1993? According to the 968 Registry, the first sixty VINs were reserved for the factory internal use and VINs started with 0061.
Thanks.
I may have missed it in the listing, but are the rear seat belts missing?

I am working with PCARMARKET on uploading the compression test. A compression test on October 6th 2020 showed the following results:
#1: 205
#2: 190
#3: 190
#4: 185
Thanks!
@shaginwagon , I unfortunately do not have pictures of the underside at hand and can't get any at this point until the auction closes. Roads in VA are full of salt, otherwise I would have quickly driven to my mechanic and shot a couple.
Is it possible to get pictures of the underside ?

@maybeillbuyit , thanks. The front bumperettes have been taken off and replace with the wider turn signals (Euro model). The original bumperettes and turn signals come with the car. The bumperettes in the rear are still US, as it requires body work to remove these or a Euro bumper, at least to my knowledge.
Amazing looking car. What exactly does this mean: " European bumperettes and indicator lights have been installed " The black rubber bumpers at the rear wouldn't be on a Euro car with the larger number plate, no?

@co. It is indeed. I reached out to them to see if they still had the VIN of the cars used back then. Unfortunately, they didn’t. Our 968 expert Jeff Coe however was able to tie the options and everything down to $50. Pretty sure it is this car, but don’t have final proof at hand.
@co. What a great post. I remember reading that article too. You think this might be the same car? If so, how cool!
@Frech446 @Frech446, this should be a familiar sight to you, https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/comparison-test/a32405949/comparison-test-1993-toyota-supra-vs-the-best-sports-cars-of-the-early-1990s/
@911or968 Thanks a lot, it's truly beautiful car.
- I have maintenance records back to 1994 from all owners. The car was a Porsche promotion car until 1994, when it was bought by a private person.
- There was minor body work done as well with new paint on the rear quarter panel only, right above the wheel.
Thanks!
@Frech446, what a nice 968 example! A few questions:
- do you have any maintenance receipts prior to your ownership?
- was the quarter panel refinish just paint or body repair too?
Thanks.
