Answering a demand for a lightweight, performance-focused 964 model akin to the European-spec Carrera RS, the Porsche 911 RS America was developed and sold exclusively in the U.S. market for the 1993 and 1994 model years. It was designed for purist driving enthusiasts with a spartan interior, cloth Sport Seats, a whale tail rear spoiler, unassisted rack-and-pinion steering, the M030 Sport Suspension package, and 17” Cup wheels. This 1993 example is one of only 701 RS Americas produced in total and is finished in Black over a matching interior. The car came factory-equipped with all available options, including an electric sunroof, air conditioning, a stereo system, and a limited-slip differential. This rare 964 was cared for by its original owner up until the seller’s acquisition and is now being offered for auction out of New York with approximately 56k miles showing on the odometer.
Based on the contemporary 964 Carrera 2, the RS America is distinguished by a fixed whale tail rear spoiler, “RS” decals on the lower rear quarters, and 17” Cup Design wheels with RS-logo center caps. This example is finished in Black and features an optional electric sunroof. Other equipment includes integrated fog lights, a heated rear window, manually adjustable mirrors, and black Porsche-branded brake calipers. The seller indicates the car’s paintwork is original and in excellent overall condition, apart from a few minor cosmetic imperfections. An extensive paint correction and ceramic coating were completed in 2024. Paint protection film covers the front nose and mirrors, and detailed images are provided in the gallery, along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report.
The RS America came standard with cloth-trimmed front Sport Seats and lightweight pull-strap door panels from the Carrera RS. This example was equipped with optional air conditioning, an AM/FM cassette stereo system, and lockable storage compartments in place of the rear seats. Other equipment includes a four-spoke leather steering wheel, electric front seat height adjustment, a central locking system, and power windows. The cabin is said to be in excellent original condition, with all gauges and accessories working properly.
An air-cooled 3.6-liter M64 flat-six engine delivers up to 247 HP to the rear wheels through a 5-speed G50 manual transaxle and an optional limited-slip differential. The RS America comes standard with unassisted rack-and-pinion steering and the M030 Sport Suspension package, which includes shorter springs, stiffer dampers, and a thicker front stabilizer bar. The seller indicates a service was recently completed, and there are no outstanding maintenance items to be addressed.
This sale will include a clean title.

@sschober - I can certainly respect your vantage point. Different people buy cars for different reasons. That type of information is useful in determining fair value.

As an owner of a ‘93 Guards Red RS with dozens of track days, 3 One Lap of Americas and lots of daily driver miles I find it dismaying so see the obsession that potential bidders have with paint meter readings, bent tabs and under tray removals. The 964 series and the RS Americas are beautiful — perfectly proportioned and a great example of Porsche design. They are truly driver’s cars and don’t merit closeting them as investment garage queens. If you want investment potential try crypto or gold.

Thanks, saw that. Meters read through PPF no problem. The target market is savvy enough to do the math.
@blackdogcars Hello, the full nose and mirrors has PPF film per the description.
@Seller - Able to post the rest of the paint meter readings? Only 4 panels made it into the gallery. A bit odd...

Hello. Can you take pictures of the trunk with the carpet pulled out? What're the red lights (picture 81) to the left and right of the tach? What is the added accessory to the lower right (picture 81) of the tach?
Hi can you explain the random paint meter readings? Are you just trying to highlight the high areas that have had paint work? Can you take close up pics of the sunroof / roof, meter readings of both. Close ups of sunroof seal, headliner and window / door seals…Meter readings of rear quarters in multiple areas above tail lights. Does vehicle come with original exhaust? Catalytic converter heat sheilding? Mounting tabs are bent. Pics with all trays off would also be great, and detailed pics inside engine bay, especially rear crossmember and longitudinals, same with trunk. Spare out, etc. How are you chasing service records on a one owner car??
Thank you for images of the bottom of the car.
Please show pics of a bare underside - no under trays.
Any chance the engine undertray can be removed to see the engine components?

@jkw01 We are working on trying to get services records from the previous owner. The car will also have a minor service completed here at our dealerships service center prior to the car leaving post sale.
Thank you for taking the time to look at our exceptional RS America. This beautiful 911 is ready for its next collector and caretaker. We are hoping to have undercarriage photos added to the listing by tomorrow. Please feel free to ask any other questions. Happy bidding!
Can you post copies of the recent service invoices?

Gorgeous,
I realize this car just arrived at auction, so you probably haven’t had time to include images of a complete paper trail.
Also, we’d like to see pics of a bare underside. Also, closeups of seams, sills and seats are always good.
GLWA!!
