Specified with equipment for the Japanese market, this 1993 Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Coupe was originally imported by MIZWA and sold to its first owner by the Mitsuwa Automobile Sales Company in Tokyo. It was ordered in the rarely seen color of Wimbledon Green Metallic over a Classic Grey interior and showcases coveted factory options including leather Sport Seats, a sunroof delete, a headlight leveling system, velour luggage compartment lining, and Cup Design wheels. The car was imported to the U.S. in recent years and is accompanied by extensive service records including photos and an invoice for an engine rebuild. Showing approximately 166k kilometers (103k miles) on the odometer, this incredibly unique 964 is now being offered for auction out of New York.
This 964 was ordered in the eye-catching shade of Wimbledon Green Metallic, a rarely-seen paint option named for the world-famous tennis championship sponsored by Porsche. The car was specified without a sunroof and comes with an optional rear window wiper, European-spec side marker lights, and a rear bumper unique to the Japanese market. RS-style front brake duct inserts are installed and the factory 17” Cup Design wheels have been professionally refinished and fitted with new tires. The headlights have been customized with blue aftermarket bulbs and Porsche 356-style Bosch H1 glass lenses. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, this Coupe is appointed with Classic Grey upholstery including optional electric height-adjustable Sport Seats. Other factory features include air conditioning, velour front trunk carpeting, a cassette holder, an alarm system, airbags, headlamp washers, and a rare headlamp leveling system with a control mounted to the left of the steering wheel. An upgraded Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 Bluetooth radio has been installed as well.
An air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 247 HP to the rear wheels through a 5-speed G50 manual transmission. A folder of Japanese service records accompanies the sale including an invoice and photographs for an engine rebuild in 2013 at 154,484 kilometers. The secondary muffler has been eliminated with a turn-down exhaust tip. Over $7k worth of service was completed by the prior owner in April 2022 including a valve adjustment, wheel alignment, transmission fluid change, new rear struts, and new rear axle seals. Refurbishment recently completed by the seller also includes the replacement of the spark plugs, distributor caps and rotors, valve cover gaskets, lug nuts, window switches, fuel pump relay, and a complete rebuild of the A/C climate control unit with upgraded internals.
This sale will include the original owner’s manuals and service log, maintenance records, engine rebuild photos, and a clean title.

@alexdad Hi, I am a licensed NY State motor vehicle dealer. The previous owner had titled the car in Maine (Maine Registration) and that will be transferred to the next owner via a NY-State MV50 which is an official dealer document to reassign the title.

Which state is the title and registration in??

@Jimbo1907 Good morning! It is actually not PTS on this year. You are not the first person to think that. It is actually amazing the std colors offered by Porsche that many were not bold enough to purchase when they were new. Rubytone/rubystar, maritime blue and many other amazing colors were offered and were not PTS.
Beautiful color on this car- I have never seen it before. Do you know if this was out of their catalog or paint-to-sample? I suppose if it has a name, it's from their catalog, but it must be very rare indeed.

@smdand sorry for the delay
Yes it is retaining its original engine and transmission from what we can see. Happy to provide extra shots of anything you may want to see. Pics 122&123 are depicting the underside of the vehicle in general, not a particular flaw or anything.
@bjf that is fun factoid, thanks for sharing. ?
@garyklein911 I can tell you aJapanese cars had different rear seats. In all other cars the rear seat bottoms are what you would expect in a 911. In Japanese cars the rear bottoms are sewn to the carpet. This was to make them appear wider for some regulation there.
@EUROsellinc . I’m out of the country until after the auction ends. I am therefore not able to see the car in person. 2 of my questions remain unanswered.
A. Is this a numbers matching car ?
B. What is being shown in the 2 gallery photos immediately before the paint meter readings?
Thanks
@garyklein911 I would not want to mislead you, I believe they are the same thing, however, this car was manufactured for and sold new in Japan. As someone who has owned a ROW 964RS, it is amazing how much closer this car feels to that car than a US -SPEC C2
@smdand hello and thank you for the interest. To my my knowledge the headlights and radio are the only modifications. Would like to point out that is has factory center muffler, but the rear muffler has been deleted. As far as paintwork is concerned, nothing was done during my ownership and I can tell you that the structure as well as the panels are all original to the car. I am sure some paint has been resprayed throughout the years as this is very common on Japanese spec cars in general. We have 6 days left so I invite you to come inspect it if you desire. I would consider it turn key and not in any immediate need of any repairs. Bid with confidence.
Can anyone explain if ROW is different than "Equipped for the Japanese Market"?
So the only modifications are to the headlights and radio?
Transfer case and Engine case are original to the car?
It looks as though the paint meter readings above 10 are for the hood and one (?? Which side) the rear fender areas. Is that correct ?
What is being depicted in the 2 photos before the paint meter readings?
Are there any known service issues that need attention?
Thanks
My favorite color on these. Looks great
Very impressive example!

The listing description has been updated to show the car's upgraded Bluepunkt radio with Bluetooth capabilities.
@smdand I will have meter readings added to the listing. The car also has bluetooth call and streaming added to a factory correct stereo which is a very nice bonus. Hope this helps.
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
Has any portion of this car been repainted?
Are there any known service issues that need attention?
Other than the headlights, have any modifications been made?
