Upon referencing a list of the rarest Porsches ever built, the 911 America Roadster is sure to be present. This 1993 911 America Roadster is 1 of only 250 produced. Taking it a step further, this specific example only shows 19k miles and is said to be absolutely pristine. It is safe to say that this is a collector's dream.
The car started life in Georgia under the care of a collector who drove just 18k miles during his ownership. The car was eventually purchased by the current owner/collector who resides in Los Angeles, CA. Since 2009, the car has been stored in a climate controlled garage under daily supervision and care of an on-staff mechanic.
When first introduced, the America Roadster boasted features similar to a Turbo model such as wider hips and a more aggressive stance. Additionally, the car received a Turbo-spec suspension and an upgraded braking system. This example is finished in Black Pearl (color code L738) paint that is in showroom condition. Paint meter readings have been provided by the seller showing a slightly higher reading on the ride front fender and door. There is absolutely no evidence of any tape lines or replaced bolts. Both the original black Cabriolet top and the upgraded 18” Speedline style wheels are showing to be in excellent condition.
It is clear that the interior of this 911 is exceptional. The beige and black partial leather is showing virtually no signs of wear and all electronics are in working order including the upgraded radio. Bespoke to the America Roadster, the rear seats are replaced with a parcel shelf with storage compartments underneath.
This car features its original 3.6-liter flat-six engine that produces 247HP and 228 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a desirable 5-speed manual transmission. The America Roadster offers a driving experience that is perfectly in sync with its aggressive and sporty look. Thanks to the upgraded suspension and brakes, it is able to achieve faster lap times and increased performance among other models. The seller states that all service is up to date and the car is looked over on a consistent basis. It is said to be in excellent running condition.
The America Roadster was first introduced in 1952. 40 years later, it was intelligently recreated and has become one of the most collectable Porsches ever built.
The sale will include service records, all books, Certificate of Authenticity, keys, and a clean Carfax.
