Available for auction is this 1993 Nissan R33 Skyline GTS-T finished in Black over a grey cloth interior. The ninth generation of Nissan’s Skyline was launched for the 1993 model year and would be produced through 1998. This 1993 example was acquired by the seller in October of 2018 from the Virginia-based dealer who imported the car. Under the care of the seller, it received extensive mechanical service and upgrades including Tomei cams and gears, a Vibrant front mount intercooler, Feal coilovers, a lightened driveshaft, an upgraded R34 transmission, and much more. This R33 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Maryland while showing just under 161k kilometers (100k miles) on its odometer.

This R33 comes finished in Black (KH3) and was reportedly partially refinished during the importation process. Details include Tommykaira side mirrors, an upgraded rear wing, and a set of refurbished Nismo LMGT2 wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires from 2021. The exterior is said to remain in good overall condition apart from some minor chips, dings, and deterioration of the windshield seals.

The right-hand drive cockpit is upholstered in grey cloth and includes a Momo steering wheel, a Tomei delrin shift knob, a custom mounted AEM Failsafe gauge, an Element fire extinguisher, removable window tint, and a Pioneer AVX 1440 radio head unit with Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth connectivity. The cabin is said to remain in very good overall condition aside from some minor wear on the driver’s seat, some deterioration of the dashboard around the defrost vents, and several unused mounting holes. The seller reports that the rear defroster, dome light, speedometer, and fuel gauges work intermittently. The passenger-side remote door lock is also inoperable.

This R33 is powered by a turbocharged RB25DET inline six-cylinder engine which has been upgraded with Tomei cams and gears, a Platinum Racing cam trigger kit, a Mishimoto radiator, a Vibrant front mount intercooler, a rebuilt cylinder head with larger valves, a Borg Warner EFR, 1,000cc fuel injectors, and more.   The rear wheels are driven by way of an R34-sourced 5-speed manual transmission. The driveshaft has been upgraded to a lightweight one-piece unit. The suspension has been upgraded with a set of Feal coilovers and braking has been enhanced by slotted rotors, rebuilt calipers, and EBC Yellowstuff pads. The seller reports that a complete fluid flush was carried out within the last year and that the timing belt was replaced at approximately 155k kilometers.

This sale will include the owner’s literature, various spare parts, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know:  "This car was a dream car of mine for many years. It took more than four years to get the car where it is. With the extensive mechanical upgrades this car has, it is ready for a cruise to the local cars and coffee, or some serious road work. I would hope the new owner enjoys the car as much as I have and continues to improve it."

@ggp.ny That was all repaired when the car was repainted during the import process. Also, the driving videos are visible now.

I saw somewhere in the grade report about a 20cm hole in a rear floor panel. Is that in the trunk floor and was it repaired/any more rust elsewhere?

  • Elric42 (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@ggp.ny No issues that I am aware of. The jack points are even in good shape.

  • ggp.ny (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

Hows the condition of the undercarriage? Frame rails or pinch welds bent at all?

  • Elric42 (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@ggp.ny the videos should be available in the gallery shortly. They were the best I could do on short notice. I had to balance my phone on the dash while driving.

@Elric42 ok thanks for your reply. I've driven manual cars in L.A. and New York traffic my entire life. It's not ideal, but it's worth it when the roads open up.

  • Elric42 (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@ggp.ny thanks. I’ll try it at home.

  • ggp.ny (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@Elric42 probably easiest to upload to youtube and post a link

  • Elric42 (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@ggp.ny I shot some videos. But I cannot puzzle out how to upload them from my phone. I will be home before the auction ends and will try from my computer.

@nine11tec My issues are practical and not logistical- I wouldn't want to drive any car, especially a manual transmission car in LA traffic. I would make sure I had my own oil and filter for changing, as everyone recommend strict servicing at 5,000kms. But reliability? I feel pretty confident in this car. I've taken it on some longer drives, around 4-5 hours each way, and the car performs well. I've even driven the car to work in DC, up and down NY Ave as well as the B/W Parkway.

Like any car set up for road work, the coilovers make potholes an interesting experience, but no worse than any other performance car I've owned.

I'd give very high odds that the car could make the trip with little real problems, and I'd be confident in taking it for a long trip.

What are your thoughts on jumping in this and taking impromptu drive across country, coast to coast? High speed, high load, hills farm lands, Colorado altitude, hot desert runs, rain.
L.A. traffic, potholes, you know, everyday stuff.
What would you bring with you? What are your betting odds you would make it 3000 miles without mechanical problems?

  • Elric42 (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@ggp.ny I will try. I am not 100% sure I will be able to get them posted with my work schedule.

  • ggp.ny (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

Any way you can post some driving videos? Preferably with normal stop/go driving and some WOT pulls

@burnrubr I misread my dyno graph- It's about 370 bhp/ 360 torque. Sorry about that...

  • Elric42 (seller) 1 year, 8 monthsago

@burnrubr The car makes about 380 bhp/360 ft/lbs. You are correct that the car is rear wheel drive.

  • burnrubr (registered bidder) 1 year, 8 monthsago

how much whp this car has with all the mods? not awd right? thanks
