Produced as a special variant of Mercedes-Benz’s W124 series, the 300E Sportline is celebrated for its enhanced performance, sharp handling capabilities, and exceptional build quality. Powered by a 3.2-liter inline-six engine paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission, this example is finished in Nautical Metallic Blue over a Beige leather interior. It features a sport-tuned suspension, quick-ratio steering, Recaro seats, Zebrano wood trim, 15” Sportline wheels, and more. Showing just under 37k miles on the odometer, this 300E Sportline is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New Jersey.
This example is finished in Nautical Blue Metallic (929U), a color exclusive to the Sportline package. Notable features include Sportline badges on the front fender, a lower ride height, and lighter color cladding on the lower body. It also has halogen headlights with wipers, front and rear fog lights, black bumper trim, and chrome accents. Additional equipment includes a heated windshield-washing system, power mirrors, a power sunroof with a tilt function, and dual exhaust outlets. It rides on silver-finished Sportline 15” eight-hole alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin MXV tires bearing 2016 date codes. A full-sized spare wheel mounted with a Champiro 60 tire and a complete factory tool roll is stored below the trunk floor. Detailed images are provided in the gallery, along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin boasts split Recaro front and rear seats upholstered in Beige (275) leather complemented by a matching lower dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Zebrano wood trim accents the interior, alongside a black upper dash, a leather-wrapped Sport Design steering wheel offering a quick-ratio steering box, and a Sportline-specific shift knob. Additional features include power-adjustable front seats, folding rear headrests, cruise control, a Becker Grand Prix 2000 head unit, special-order front seat covers with Mercedes branding, and Nautical Blue carpet floormats. The seller reports the outdoor temperature gauge is functional but may benefit from replacement. All other gauges and electronics are confirmed to be working properly, with no warning lights illuminated.
Power comes from a 3.2-liter M104 DOHC inline-six engine, delivering a factory-rated 217 HP and 229 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 4-speed automatic transmission. The Sportline package enhances performance with a factory sport-tuned suspension, including stiffer springs and shocks and upgraded anti-roll bars and bushings, offering improved handling and cornering capabilities compared to the standard model. The vehicle has received new engine seals and upper wire harness, and in preparation for the sale, it was recently serviced by Wolfgang’s in Tenafly, New Jersey.
This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Very rare color combo along with Sportline and concours condition.”

I've uploaded detailed photos of the underside in addition to the shock top mounts which are in excellent condition. This car has been stored inside for most if not all of its life so everything is in excellent condition. You will see some oil which was coming from the head gaskets which have now all been replaced. In addition the upper harness has been replaced with the non ecojunk 2003+ Delphi harness. I can add a photo of the white tag as well. Last 24hrs of the auction. Let me know if any questions! As you can see the underside is incredible with lots of factory markings and stickers...neat to see! Cheers!

Thanks very much for the quick detailed response !
@jrs3484 the ASR light was on when I removed it from storage. We changed the fluid and it is now functioning properly. No lights have been on since Ive owned it. Wolfgang is in the process of changing the valve cover seals and a brake sensor in the rear along with an oil change etc. I also just updated the upper wiring harness as the one in the car was original. I'll snap a photo of the strut rubber- I'm sure it's original and at least brittle. These are easy/inexpensive to replace having just done a set on another w124. I should be back with photos of the strut tower rubber and underside photos tomorrow AM when I get back to the car. Cheers!
Are there/have there been instrument cluster lights on like Check Engine etc.?
Please take pictures of the tops of the struts in engine compartment as the rubber tends to dry rot.
What maintenance was done by Wolfgang’s? Thanks.

@MLDMOTORWERKS ac is cold. I'll upload a video with my temp guage. There are 2 small touch ups on the mirror that were done by the 1st owner. Very small chips. No paintwork otherwise that I can see. Thank you!
Is the air conditioning blowing cold?
Has the car had any repaints or touchups?

Could you please provide more photos on the undercarriage? and the suspension components? Thanks.
@jrs3484 unfortunately the gentleman passed away and the records were not available. There are limited stamps in the book along with the recent maintenance service at Wolfgangs. Thank You
Do you have maintenance records besides what was mentioned?
