Styled by famed designer Bruno Sacco, the W124 300-Class, a predecessor to the E-Class, was introduced in 1986 and lauded for its comfort, performance, and advanced technology. The C124 Coupe debuted in 1988 and utilized a short wheelbase chassis with steeper raked front and rear windscreens, providing an elegant design and optimized aerodynamics. This highly original 1993 example is finished in Black over a matching leather interior and was recently purchased from the original owner. It has since been thoroughly detailed and serviced. Showing approximately 65k miles on the odometer, this 300CE is now being offered at auction by its seller out of New York.
The exterior is finished in black (040U) with contrasting grey lower-body cladding. Equipment includes pillarless windows, a power antenna, power-adjustable side mirrors, a sliding metal sunroof, a single windshield wiper, and 15” Gullideckel wheels, which are mounted with Firestone FR710 tires showing date codes from 2015. The paint is described to be in excellent original condition, having benefitted from recent professional detailing. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The four-seat cabin is upholstered in black leather and accented with burled wood trim along the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Amenities include automatic climate control, cruise control, an AM/FM cassette stereo, power windows, and power-adjustable front seats. The front passenger seat was previously repaired, as the power operation was not functional. The seller reports the radio antenna extends when the radio is turned on, however, the radio is currently not playing. Slight separation of the trim around the passenger seat belt housing.
The 300CE is powered by a 3.2-liter M104 inline-six, factory rated at 217 HP and 229 lb.-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels through a 4-speed automatic transmission. The 300 CE featured a multi-link independent rear suspension that further improved the handling characteristics and an independent front suspension with individual wishbones. The seller adds that a recent service includes a fluid service and fuel pump replacement. Available service documentation is provided in the gallery.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, and some service documentation.

@brandywine thanks for that, I would sure hope so. I was watching that one also. That price would be a very happy day for me and I hope I see something like that, although, full disclosure, the reserve is set miles below that. The winner of this car is going to be thrilled, it would be not an easy task to duplicate this example.
I would expect some intense end of auction activity on this since it is very under market. I had my eye on this other one with the same mileage that sold for way more than the current bid on BAT https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2013-mercedes-benz-300ce/
@amediumformat sure my pleasure. No everything is working very well functionality wise, when I acquired the car the radio was working just fine, however, it is now working intermittently, that would be my only issue. If I were buying it to daily, the VDO continental radio is an amazing upgrade for under $150, it has bluetooth and no exaggeration, looks like it came with the car from the factory (since it is made by VDO)
great thank you. but can you answer my other question - is there anything that needs to be fixed for it to be a somewhat daily driver?
Bid in the amount of $11,850
@amediumformat hi absolutely! I am very confident in the way this drives. I actually had it out the week before it was photographed and accumulated about 100 miles on her, it is a true gem!
Is there anything that needs to be fixed for this to be driven a few times a week? Is it safe to drive comfortably on the highway at 80mph for a few hours?

@noeljohnhoward hello and thank you for the question. Although we do not have a record to promise with the sale, upon inspection it appears to have been replaced/addressed as you can see for yourself the sheathing looks to have been changed around the harness. The car starts, runs and drives amazingly well and is sure to satisfy even the most discerning buyer. Thank you for the interest.
any record of wiring harness replacement?
