Available for auction is this 1993 Honda (CC2) Accord Inspire AGi finished in green over a grey cloth interior. Developed in the midst of Japan’s “bubble economy” and introduced in 1989, the Honda Accord Inspire was a midsize luxury model sold through Honda’s Japanese Clio dealerships. It featured a unique 2.5L 5-cylinder engine along with a host of luxury touches. This 1993 example was imported from Japan in 2020, and comes equipped with the mid-level AGi trim which includes such features as power folding mirrors, air conditioning with climate control, cruise control and more. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Washington, while showing just over 81k kilometers (50k miles) on the odometer.
The Inspire shares design language with the U.S. specification Acura Vigor and features pillarless doors and wrap-around tail lights. This example is finished in green and is equipped with the AGi trim package which adds front fog lamps. The seller notes that the front bumper and drivers door have been refinished for cosmetic purposes, and that the front and rear bumper cover show some scratches along with a few other minor flaws located on the the exterior surface. Detailed images can be found in the gallery. It rides on a set of 15” wheels dressed in a set of Caldera Confidence C3 tires bearing date codes from 2020.
The right-hand drive cabin of the Inspire was appointed with genuine wood inserts courtesy of Japanese furniture company Tendo Mokko. This example features grey fabric upholstery with matching door panels inserts, and wood accents. Amenities include a Panasonic radio, power antenna, air conditioning with climate control, cruise control, power mirrors with power folding, power windows, central locking, and heated rear glass. The seller notes that all gauges, electronics and accessories are functional with the exception of the driver’s side power folding mirrors.
Power comes from a G25A 2.5L 5-cylinder engine producing approximately 188 HP. The front wheels are driven by way of a 4-speed automatic transmission with a limited-slip differential. Within the last year the car received a new valve cover gasket, tie rod ends, CV axles, steering boots, and exhaust resonator. Records for recent service will accompany the car, and the seller confirms that there are no outstanding issues to note at this time.
