One of the rarest and most desirable iterations of BMW’s iconic M3, the E36 M3 GT was built as a homologation special for FIA-GT and IMSA GT racing, with only 356 examples produced for the European market. Finished exclusively in British Racing Green, it features an aggressive aerodynamic package, aluminum doors, 17” forged alloy wheels, Amaretta cloth-trimmed sport seats, a track-tuned suspension, and an upgraded S50B30 engine delivering 295 HP. Originally delivered at BMW Munich, this example remained with its original owner until 2003, when it was sold and imported to Sweden. It then remained under second ownership until 2022, when it was acquired by the current owner, a Stockholm-based car collector. Meticulously maintained, this M3 GT is now being offered for auction on dealer consignment out of Sweden, showing approximately 85k kilometers (53k miles) on the odometer.
Compared to a standard E36 M3, the GT version features lightweight aluminum doors and an aerodynamic package with an adjustable front splitter and a rear wing. All GT’s came finished in British Racing Green (BMW Individual, 312) and equipped with 17” M Double Spoke forged alloy wheels. The equipment also includes aerodynamically optimized mirrors, integrated front fog lights, a sunroof, and a twin exhaust outlet. This example rides on Michelin Pilot Sport tires from 2023, and the seller notes the car has been partially repainted, including the bonnet to address minor signs of road wear. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin features heated, manually adjustable Vader sport seats upholstered in Mexico Green Nappa leather and Anthracite Amaretta cloth upholstery with matching door panels and rear seats. Accessories include carbon fiber trim pieces, a three-spoke M Sport steering wheel, red seatbelts, BMW Motorsport door sills, a limited-edition plaque mounted above the glovebox, and velour floor mats. The driver is also provided with power windows and mirrors, air conditioning, a sunroof, and a stereo system.
The M3 GT is powered by a 3.0-liter S50B30 inline-six engine featuring a revised intake manifold, larger camshafts, and a BMW Motorsport oil pan. Up to 295 HP and 238 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. The GT comes with stiffer springs and dampers than the standard M3 as well as a lowered ride height and a front strut tower brace. The seller has added a list of ownership history and services as shown below:
This sale will include a Swedish registration, owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, sales literature, a service book, and a folder containing various invoices and inspection documents.
The seller would like you to know: "In 1995, BMW introduced the M3 GT as a limited-edition racing homologation special for the European market, designed to compete in the FIA-GT Class II, IMSA GT, and international endurance races. A total of 356 units were produced, all in left-hand drive, Only available for mainland Europe. This high-performance coupé was exclusively offered in a single colour: BMW’s iconic British Racing Green (paint code 312). The exterior was complemented by a refined interior featuring Amaretta sports seats upholstered in Mexico Green Nappa leather, and high-quality carbon fibre trim. Each of the 356 cars produced, including five pre-production models, can be easily recognized by this distinct paintwork. Further distinguishing the M3 GT were custom front and rear spoilers, Aluminium doors, aerodynamically optimised mirrors, and M double-spoke forged aluminium wheels—measuring 7.5J x 17" at the front and 8.5J x 17" at the rear—that were exclusive to this edition. These wheels were fitted with 235/40 ZR17 tires. Under the bonnet, the M3 GT retained the powerful S50B30 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine, Technical highlights included six individual throttle bodies and BMW’s newly developed VANOS variable camshaft timing system. Resulting in 295 hp. This particular car was originally delivered new by BMW Munich to a Mr. H. Grunke, an orderly man who always kept his M3 very well maintained, as evidenced by the service book and invoices from that time. The car remained in his ownership until 2003, when it was sold and imported to Sweden by a Mr. N. Brundin. During the first seven years of his ownership, he drove the car frequently, adding approximately 35,000 km to the odometer. Like the previous owner, he consistently ensured that the car was properly maintained and regularly serviced. Between 2010 and 2022, it remained stationary for the majority of the time, always kept in a warm garage. The current owner, a Stockholm-based car collector, acquired the car in September 2022 and has since only driven it sparingly, conducting a service at an authorised BMW dealer in June 2024, before leaving the car to us. As part of our standard procedure for all our cars, MOTIKON conducted a mechanical test on the vehicle and addressed every issue identified, ensuring the car presents as well mechanically as it does cosmetically. With the market starting to wake up to modern classic sports cars of the 90s, the prices of limited edition models like the M3 GT are poised to continue rising. A recently serviced, relatively low-mileage example with only three owners, like the car we have here, is becoming increasingly difficult to find, as some quick research on various automotive marketplaces will prove. Included in the sale is the service book, BMW literature, and a folder containing various invoices and inspection papers. A full list of completed work, along with history, pictures, and videos, can be provided upon interest. Do not hesitate to get in touch."

Well, if you could drive to New York the shipping is 4150$. It is a long drive from there but could be fun to kick of your ownership with a roadtrip!
Otherwise, WC shipping tells me delivery from their Linden, NJ container unloading warehouse to Boise, ID is $725 via open trailer transport.
Update on picture 147: it was just dirt
@MOTIKON thank you. Will review the link a bit later. I’m in Boise, ID but can fly anywhere to collect it and road trip, family is on the east coast so I just want to make it cheap as possible and if anyone knows how to find exact import costs, please speak up! Thank you.
The rear wing risers are unfortunately not with the car

If you tell me what city you are located in the US i can get you an shipping estimate.
All the manuals, servicebook and documentation is available and will be included in the sale, here is a link to the documentation and servicebook: https://adsf.se/O6HHOQ

Bid in the amount of $55,000
Also- forgot to ask do you have the rear wing risers and all the Orginal manuals and paperwork etc? Just trying to figure out how complete it all is! Thank you again
Couple questions, in pic 147, what is all
Over the front control arm lollipop?
Any idea on the age of the bilstein shocks and struts? Also still stock springs? Any other suspension refreshers done? Would love to know what all is done maintenance wise and if anyone has a clue on cost to get this to the western USA I am all ears. Thank you in advance. Jeff
For everyone wondering about possible shipping, i reached out to my friends at Westcoastshipping and they gave this example, Hope it gives you a rough estimate even if you are not in New York!
The total cost for logistics from MOTIKON to New York is $4,150 all-in. US Import Fees depend on the value the buyer declares (basically what he ends up paying).
Yes, it does!
Does this motor have itb’s?
Paintmeter readings and underside photos are now available. A walkaround and start up video is uploaded and should be on its way. Unfortunately a driving video is not possible since its winter and snow in Sweden!
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
Also underside photos as requested. Anything damp/wet underneath? Oil leaks or otherwise?
Is it possible to post a cold start and driving video?
Bid in the amount of $41,000
@Goldstein That is fun to hear, second chances dont come often!
I will send pictures of the paintreadings to Pcar right away and they will upload them.
Bid in the amount of $40,000
@seller beautiful car although I would air on the side this car has been completely repainted. BMW m3 gt’s read around 100 um when wearing first paint. I would love to see the readings added to the gallery to help determine.
I was close to buying this car a few years ago in Sweden & am very tempted to now.
Hello everyone!
Our paint readings indicate an average of around 200 across the car, with the bonnet measuring at 350. This suggests that the car is likely in its original paint, except for the bonnet who usually is painted to get rid of ugly stonechips.
I will have the car lifted and the undercarriage photographed during the day.
Not all M cars have a M3 badge, some people prefer the badge-less look! Good news is that it is very easy to put one on!
As the car is located in Sweden, we can assist with the shipping process to the USA. Importation is hassle-free, as the vehicle is over 25 years old.
Wishing you all a fantastic auction!
