Produced in limited numbers for the European market as a lightweight high-performance model derived from the Carrera Cup race car, the 964 Carrera RS is regarded as one of the greatest Porsche 911s ever made. It highlights a basic lightweight interior with a pair of Recaro bucket seats as well as a stiffened chassis, a special seam-welded bodyshell, shortened gear ratios, a limited-slip differential, unassisted steering, and lightweight magnesium wheels. Finished in Guards Red, this 1992 example was first registered in Germany and remained with its original owner up until 2012. The second owner commissioned a custom rebuild of the original engine with a 3.8-liter displacement upgrade and kept the car until 2020. Benefitting from a recent engine-out service, this 3.8-powered Carrera RS is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Belgium while showing approximately 101k kilometers (62k miles) on the odometer.
Using the bodyshell of the 964 Carrera 2 Coupe as its basis, the Carrera RS features a special lightweight design with seam-welded panels, an aluminum front bonnet, and thinner glass windows. It came without a sunroof or front fog lights and rides on lightweight magnesium 17” Cup Design wheels. Other details include aero mirrors, an RS-specific rear bumper, European-spec side marker lights, manually adjustable side mirrors, and a speed-activated rear spoiler. This 1992 example was factory-finished in Guards Red (80K) and is said to have been repainted in its original color in 2018 along with the underside of the floor pans. The front fog light inserts have been replaced with brake cooling ducts and the wheels are dressed in Bridgestone Potenza tires. The seller indicates that the car remains in very good overall condition, detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The black interior features a pair of fixed-back Recaro bucket seats in leather as well as red seatbelts and lightweight RS door panels. The Carrera RS comes without rear seats, power windows, air conditioning, airbags, a radio, or sound insulation. Accessories include a leather-wrapped four-spoke “RS” steering wheel, red cloth door pull straps, manual window cranks, a heater, a glovebox, manual window cranks, a quartz clock, and a rear window defroster. All gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional.
The Carrera RS features a specialized 3.6-liter M64/03 engine rated at 260 HP stock. Under previous ownership, the engine was rebuilt and upgraded to a 3.8-liter displacement. Power is sent to the rear wheels by way of a close-ratio G50 5-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The car shares its brakes with the 911 Turbo and features unassisted rack and pinion steering. Upgraded Bilstein coilovers were also installed under prior ownership. The seller notes that a major engine-out service was completed in 2023 including new bearings, piston rings, timing chains, seals, spark plugs, filters, a new battery, DME relay, flywheel, clutch fork, and re-grinding the crankshaft. Additional maintenance records are said to be available dating back to 2004.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a window sticker, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This is the most fun car we have ever owned. The 3.8L makes this car one of a kind. The way this car drives and handles is almost impossible to describe. Light and nimble, very powerful, great handling.”

@CJWRacing33 this is your chance ;-)
I had a few 964RS and always wanted a little more juice.
@CJWRacing33 you are correct. We have owned and driven the 964 RS, the RS NGT and even a "1 of 20" RS/NGT Macau series. This car is however something else :-)...

I just watched the entire driving video. Wow! This is indeed a riot to drive ! My car seem like a 3.0SC compared to this beast.
Someone will buy a great RS tonight, from what seems to be a trustworthy seller.

@Robmac123 Not sure to be honest, that's why we have executed a FULL service on the car in preparation of the sell (invoices available). There is zero maintenance cost to be expected in the upcoming years. The car runs great - as you can see in the video.
Do you know how many miles / KM are on the engine since the rebuild ? Thanks

This is the perfect RS.
Two things I hated when buying my 964 RS:
1) I had to spend 30k$ on the engine, despite the seller saying it was “in perfect working order” at 40k miles…
2) The 3.6 engine is actually a little weak. I always feel like it had some extra power.
This is the perfect car … fresh engine with 3.8l spec. What a riot it must be to drive!
Good luck with the sale, I’m sure the buyer will be delighted with it !
