This 1992 Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Cabriolet is the subject of a custom backdate restoration which began under the seller’s ownership in May 2022 and was completed in 2024. Finished in Rubystone Red, it wears backdated long-hood bodywork including steel fender flares and composite RSR bumpers. The cabin has been completely redone with black Alcantara and Rubystone basketweave upholstery. The car is powered by a flat-six M64 engine which has been rebuilt to a 3.8-liter displacement and mated to a rebuilt 5-speed G50 manual transaxle with an RS clutch and flywheel. The car also features LED headlights, dual center-mounted exhaust pipes, an FD short shifter, a MOMO Black Edition steering wheel, retro-style gauges, a rebuilt A/C system, a Porsche Classic radio, Bilstein PSS10 coilover suspension, 993 Turbo front brakes, RS engine mounts, custom 17” Braid Fuchs RSR-style wheels, and much more. Custom built with no expense spared, this one-of-a-kind 964 Cabriolet is now being offered for auction out of Florida.
This 964 has been customized with 9” and 11” wide steel fender flares, lightweight composite RSR-style bumpers, and a backdated metal long-hood front bonnet. The car was refinished in the 1990s Porsche color of Rubystone Red and refurbished with a new front windshield and rubber seals for the windows, hood, and decklid. It features new chrome doorframes, door handles, mirrors, rear bumper guards, new emblems and badging, and custom Porsche script side decals. The car rides on custom Braid Fuchs RSR-style wheels measuring 17”/9” in front and 17”/11” in the rear with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin has been redone with an exposed Rubystone Red-painted tub complemented by black Alcantara and Rubystone-accented basketweave upholstery on the seats, dashboard, and door panels. The upper dashboard and sun visors are trimmed in black Alcantara with Rubystone Red stitching. Accessories include RSR-style front bucket seats with stainless-steel ventilation grommets, Rubystone seatbelts, custom door handles, an FD short shifter with a custom wooden shift knob, a goldenrod shift rod, custom retro-style gauges, a new MOMO Black Edition steering wheel in black Alcantara, and a Porsche Classic radio. The cabin has been lined with sound-deadening material, and the A/C system has been overhauled with a rebuilt climate control unit, a new compressor, evaporator, dryer, expansion valve, and hidden compressor lines.
The car’s air-cooled 3.6-liter M64 flat-six engine has been completely rebuilt and upgraded to a 3.8-liter displacement with new pistons and cylinders, rebuilt and machined heads, new Raceware head studs and rod bolts, a performance computer chip, billet aluminum timing chain and cam housing covers, RS engine mounts, an RS single-belt system, and new headers with a high-performance stainless-steel exhaust. The engine compartment is lined with a custom Alcantara insulator pad. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a rebuilt 5-speed G50 manual gearbox including an RS clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, and release bearing. The suspension has been upgraded with a Bilstein PSS10 coilover kit and the brakes have been upgraded with new 993 Turbo front calipers, cross-drilled front and rear rotors, and stainless-steel brake lines. Other restoration items included new front and rear wheel bearings, refurbished CV joints and axles, new brake pads and sensors, and new front sway bar end links.
This sale will include a spare tire, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “A meticulously modified 1992 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 convertible is up for grabs; the build began in May 2022 with all metal body panels except bumpers. I've been restoring Porsches for the last 15 years my Instagram account is @JSVPorsche. This vehicle is my personal project that was done with no details left behind. This is a clean title car with matching engine numbers and I have the Certificate of Authenticity. When I purchased the car, it was garage kept with original paint and interior. @hierogk Thank you
This thing is dope.
@WReiter The stock attachment points were not installed to give the convertible top a cleaner look, but I do have the original boot that came with the car. If you are the winning bidder, it can be included with the sale of the car.

@Kaz Not that I am aware of. However, I recommend confirming with your local DMV, since we do not have emission testing in Florida. Thanks
Any other issues with trying to register this car in California?
Are the attachment points still there so that stock tonneau cover can be utilized over top when retracted? If so, do you have the cover?
@OpahDopa Thank you for your support and kind words. Much appreciated!

Love to read what all the Porsche purists would have to say about this one! It’s has a Dennis Rodman flair to it! Personally I love it!
@WReiter No unfortunately the car does not have a catalytic converter, however it is an easy fix. If you are the winning bidder, I can install it for an additional $1000.
Catalytic converter still there? I'm wondering about the prospect of passing California smog.
Stunning! Love this color. GLWA
