Up for auction is this 1992 Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Cabriolet finished in Polar Silver Metallic over a Classic Grey partial leather interior. Said to have been purchased by the seller from its original owner earlier in 2020, this 964 has been kept in excellent overall condition while remaining highly original. Accompanied by the original window sticker, service book, and toolkit, this stunning C2 Cabriolet is now being offered by its seller in Alabama with approximately 72k miles showing on the odometer.
The factory-specified Polar Silver Metallic finish is said to be in great condition and the seller reports that this vehicle has been garage-kept its entire life (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). The right front fender is said to have been professionally refinished for cosmetic purposes, although the rest of the paint on the car is believed to be original. Features include a retractable Cabriolet top with tonneau cover and original C2 5-spoke wheels dressed in healthy Bridgestone Potenza tires.
The Classic Grey partial leather interior is reported to be in excellent condition except for an indentation shown on the passenger seat cushion. Power seats, cruise control, and an amplifier are factory equipped. The original radio is said to remain fully functional along with all other gauges and accessories.
Power is derived from an air-cooled 3.6 L flat-six engine paired with a G50 5-speed manual gearbox. A factory claimed 247 HP is transferred to the rear wheels allowing this Cabriolet to accelerate from 0-60 MPH in approximately 5.5 seconds. An upgraded Dansk sport muffler has been installed and the seller confirms this 964 to be in fantastic running order with an extensive collection of service records dating back to the original purchase. Undercarriage photos and maintenance records are provided for reference in the photo gallery.
This sale will include a set of 2 keys, the original books, tools and window sticker, a stamped maintenance booklet, a tonneau cover, and a clean title. If you have been in search of an air-cooled Cabriolet, this one-owner C2 makes an excellent choice.

Sold for $35,750
Nice car, but I hope seller lets it go at that price. That's strong money given the belly pan will need a piece or two cut out and rewelded. That's ugly damage that I'm surprised wasn't addressed before the auction given the money spent to prep the car for sale.

@worldmotorsports Alabama has titles 1975 on up.
Yes we have title in the name of the original owner.
Alabama titles vehicles. Not boats
Do you have a title ? I think Alabama only has registrations

@Pnut964 appears so. I didn’t see anything inside the trunk.
@rkob6230 Thank you for your responses. In photo 140 what am I seeing just right of the center of the belly pan? Is that not a scrape that went through the belly pan sheet metal? Wish I could inspect in person, but I’m a bit far away for that.
@Pnut964 The only dings Are on the drivers door.
The car does have many chips from its 72,000 Miles of driving. The original owner a friend of mine brought me this car and asked me to sell it. I inspected the vehicle and repaired everything that needed addressing that you can see on our invoice.
The car drives well aside from the weak tires. Transmission is solid, suspension tight. He did a good job caring for the car. Considering it’s age the vehicle is in excellent condition. The only issue that I know of is the carpet on floor boards is missing , the air bag light is on and the right front fender has been replaced as referenced on the repair ticket.
No structural damage at all . The owner said the car was damaged while parked.

@Pnut964 i don’t remember any dents in that area. The car is 60 Miles away from me so I won’t be able to check it until after the auction is over. Sorry
@Pnut964 there are no holes. You are referencing the belly pan and it does have scrapes.
@Pnut964 Not sure about that but the kit is $51.00
@rkob6230 Sorry for all of the questions at once. In photo 112 are those two small dents on the right side fender headlight tunnel above the trunk seal? Aside from the dents on the driver side door as mentioned below, can you list any other dents or dings on the vehicle? Photos make it tough to distinguish between dents/dings and reflections.
Also looks like this hasn’t been retrofitted with the distributor vent kit. Can you confirm? I’m shocked that this hasn’t been done yet. This would be my first order of business with this car.....
Is picture 124 showing scrapes on the underbody that are actually through the sheet metal? I don’t see any references to holes in the underside in the description.

@mrm2d There are some light dents that I felt would come out with pdr,but my guy was scared he would break the window.
I thought it was a glare but in all pictures of the drivers door it looks like there are 3 dents below the mirror down the entire door. Am I correct?
@Mother033 The vehicle is in storage a few blocks from the dealership. You can set up a showing by calling Derrick at the Subaru dealership.
Roger is this at the dealership for an inspection? I’m on the Eastern Shore
