Up for auction is this 1992 Porsche 964 Turbo. One of only 309 examples delivered to the U.S. for the model year, this 1992 Turbo was sold new in California and remained with its second owner from 1995-2021 during which time a full GT2-style race car conversion was performed by GAS Motorsports. The car features a 993-style body with wide fenders, GT2 Evo spoilers, Plexiglas windows, and BBS wheels along with a stripped-out racing interior and full roll cage. Power comes from a G50/52 964 Cup gearbox paired with a highly modified 3.3L engine featuring a custom billet turbo, twin-plug ignition, RUF cams, a custom intercooler, stainless steel headers, and more. Accompanied by a clean title, this no-expense-spared GT2-style 964 Turbo race car is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas.
Under the prior ownership, this Turbo received a full Getty Designs widebody kit with bolt-on rear fenders as well as a 993 GT2 Evo-style front end and rear wing. The windows are made from Plexiglas and lightweight material is used for the roof and door panels. The car is finished in White with removable vinyl graphics and the seller notes some minor issues with the fitment of the aftermarket body panels as well as some rock chips on the front bumper, a crack on the passenger-side rocker, and a few other small imperfections as depicted in the photo gallery. A clean CARFAX report is also provided for reference. This Turbo rides on custom three-piece 18” BBS E88 wheels dressed in a set of new Nitto NT01 tires.
The cabin is has been stripped out and fitted with a full roll cage and NASCAR-style door bars as well as a pair of Recaro racing seats, safety harnesses, Simpson door nets, and additional gauges for turbo boost, head temperature, engine hours, and oil pressure. A “push-to-pass” overboost button was added to the Sparco steering wheel and a Motorola racing radio has been installed along with a fire suppression system. The seller notes all safety equipment is date-coded from 1996 and that all gauges and switches remain fully functional.
This 3.3L flat-six engine (61N00854) in this 964 has been rebuilt and upgraded with a custom billet turbocharger, Carillo rods, Aasco valve springs, a Carrera 3.2 intake, twin-plug MSD ignition, Turbo RUF cams, stainless steel headers, dual front oil coolers, a custom intercooler, HKS blowoff valve, and Autronic SM2 ECU. The rear wheels are driven through a G50/52 964 Cup 5-speed gearbox rebuilt with steel synchros and custom ratios. Other upgrades include 993 RSR shocks, Alcon front brakes, a brake bias adjuster, and a new 32-gallon Fuelsafe fuel cell installed in 2021. Recent service includes a brake fluid flush, oil change, and new battery.
This sale will include a clean Texas title. Do not miss your chance to hit the track this season behind the wheel of this custom GT2-style 964 Turbo race car.

Under two hours left! Let me know if any last minute questions come up.
@JP12 Engine dyno has been posted, along with other comments talking about its history!
Corner balance has been checked, and the following was the verdict. I will supply a photo to add to the gallery.
FR 531 lbs
FL 543 lbs
RR 863 lbs
RL 850 lbs
FR+RL = 1394 lbs
FL+RR = 1389 lbs
Total Weight 2787 lbs
This puts our power to weight at 6.36 lbs/hp
@das92 The Fire Bottles are out of Inspection, with date codes 1998 and 1999.
There is no ABS in this vehicle currently. It has been deleted and replaced with two Lockheed cylinders (front and rear) and features a driver adjustable bias.
In the photos showing the warning light on, it is due to the ignition being on without the engine running. There are no warning lights while driving, and as you stated I dont think this ecu gives fault codes in that manner.
In terms of additional gear, we have a few containers of NOS parts ranging from fuel pumps/filters, to oil filters and pumps, master cylinders, belts, wastegate parts, bearings, brake pads, suspension springs, pit crew radio, and some other misc items. I will attach some photos of these parts.
I do not have legitimate build or service records, but the information I have provided thus far has come directly from Kevin Roush, the Owner of GAS Motorsport. He was heavily involved in the build of this car. The Owner who raced this car was Tom Peterson. He owned and raced this car for most of its life, and reportedly sold it in 2012. The Owner before me purchased this at that time with the expectation of racing then due to knee surgery was never able to. It sat in his possesion up until 2021 when we purchased and got it back into good running and driving shape. We have put a few hours on it both on the street and at HPDE events. I would be more than happy to pass along the contacts I have with previous owners to a purchaser.
I will get a compression test done ASAP and send that info once I have it.

Thanks for offering this car it certainly looks like someone spent a lot at some time in the life of car. I see you mentioned 1996 on safety gear, what is the date of last service on the two fire bottles I see? I don't see the ABS pump in the photos, does the car still have ABS as a 1992 Turbo would have had originally? Has the ABS been upgraded with the cup control unit perhaps? This was a popular upgrade back in the 1990's/2000's build time. I see the explanation warning light on, I understand it no longer has the DME control unit, I am wondering why that is on - was it just you were photographing with the 'ignition on' and not running the engine, or does this system run error codes while the engine is running? I understand the ECU doesn't run the explanation point warning, but I'm sure there are some tie ins. What other gear, spares, radio headsets to go with that system shown, bodywork, wheels are included in the sale? Do you have service records, build records, or an ownership chain of enthusiast who may have maintained the car? Lastly, any engine leak down test or compression numbers to share? Thank you!
I have uploaded a Dyno Sheet for PCarMarket to add to the listing along with a dyno video and corner balance specs. All should be posted by end of the day!
Dyno Results: 437HP at 5770 and 420TQ at 5120
There must be documentation on this car. Seeing what’s been invested, there has to be paperwork. These are expensive cars to maintain. Without documentation how do we know for sure the drivetrain has been rebuilt, for example?
Driving video is up!

@JP12 We will get an updated dyno and corner balance done as soon as possible. I have a shop locally that I should be able to get it done at Monday.
The car was built and maintained by AASCO performance and GAS Motorsport in socal during most of its racing career. The recent maintenance has been done by Retrospect Motorworks (the current owner) in Texas. From my knowledge, this car has only seen a few HPDE days since it’s time being maintained by AASCO.
Which race shop has been maintaining this vehicle?
Engine dyno results and/or corner balance weight sheets?
Who did the build and who did the track/race prep and ongoing maintenance?
Thanks.
@Jad930 the clock in the vehicle reads 150 hours currently, 6 of which I have put on the vehicle. When purchasing, I was told (without documentation) that the engine and transmission was checked and refreshed at 140 hours. That’s unfortunately all the details I have outside of some emails back and forth with a previous owner.
Any idea of the hours on the engine or transmission?
@uscarrera unfortunately no, we do not have any race logs.
Does car have any race log books?
Hello everyone and welcome to our auction of this beautiful classic Porsche. This truly is a work of art, and pulls so much attention everywhere I take it wether it’s the track or a local car show.
Under our ownership we have had the opportunity to drive this both on the street (registrable in certain jurisdictions) as well as taken it to the track. It is a true joy to pilot and is very quick in acceleration as well as in the corners.
Tomorrow we will be posting some driving footage to help show the experience this car creates. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask and I will answer to the best of my knowledge! Happy bidding!
