Exclusively offered for the European market, the Porsche 964 Carrera RS was developed from the Carrera Cup racing series. Produced in limited numbers, this lightweight variant featured increased engine output, shorter gear ratios, track-focused suspension, and a seam-welded bodyshell. Of the 2,282 Carrera RS models built, only 76 were specified as Touring versions (M002), which included luxury amenities such as soundproofing, undersealing, standard door panels, and Turbo-derived Sport Seats with unique multi-color centers. This 1992 example is finished in Grand Prix White and was optioned with power seats, power steering, air conditioning, and the Sound Package. Originally delivered in Spain, it was later acquired by its second owner before being sold through a dealer in France, where it was purchased by the current and third owner in 2015. Now showing just under 236k kilometers (~147k miles) on the odometer, this Carrera RS Touring is being offered for auction out of Paris, France, accompanied by a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and a collection of service documentation.
The Carrera RS body was manufactured using a special seam-welding technique and utilizes an aluminum front bonnet, thinner glass windows, a lightweight rear bumper design, and aero-style mirrors borrowed from the 911 Turbo. Unlike the standard RS, the Touring variant retained factory-applied body undercoating and carried the 10-year anti-corrosion warranty of the regular 964. This example is finished in Grand Prix White (P5P5) and has been fitted with authentic 17” Tecnomagnesio light-alloy wheels. The original silver magnesium 17" Cup wheels are said to accompany the sale. The headlights have been upgraded with LED bulbs, and the seller notes the right front fender was refinished under prior ownership, with no accidents or scratches reported. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
Inside, the Touring model gains standard door panels with handles and power window switches as well as cabin sound insulation, electric mirrors, central locking, an alarm, a heated rear window, and a full stereo system. Accordingly, the Touring model equips a standard 72 AH alternator and a larger battery to support its accessories. Other features include electrically adjustable Sport Seats with multi-color striped inserts, power steering, and air conditioning.
The Carrera RS utilizes an upgraded version of the 964’s 3.6-liter M64 engine featuring carefully matched pistons and cylinders, solid rubber mounts, a lightweight single-mass flywheel, and revised ECU programming. The seller adds that the engine was rebuilt at 197,130 kilometers (122,500 miles), and an FVD Brombacher tuning kit was installed. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a close-ratio 5-speed G50 manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential. The low RS-spec suspension includes stiffer-rate springs, Bilstein dampers, and adjustable anti-roll bars at the front and rear. The front brakes are derived from the 911 Turbo, and cross-drilled ventilated discs are fitted at each corner. A host of service documentation will accompany the sale.
This sale will include a French registration and the original 17" Cup wheels.
The seller would like you to know: “A very rare 964 RS Touring model. Only 76 examples worldwide, including 65 left-hand drive versions! This vehicle has been driven by two owners since new. I’m the third, in my lineup for 10 years. It’s accident-free and has a manufacturing number. It’s driven regularly and maintained without restrictions. In incredible condition despite its mileage, it’s a true unicorn, and a true RS, but in a GT version that’s less radical than a light RS and usable for everyday use!”

@tserv23 Good day, Tom!
Thank you for pointing that out. The “burnt” area around the muffler is just a cosmetic effect from heat, nothing ongoing or problematic. The car has always been well maintained and there are no issues related to it.
Good day to all!
I had a lightweight 92 RS, sold it and looking for a "touring".
Just wondering why there is the "burnt" area around the muffler, ie...was that a one time thing or is it an ongoing situation? thanks, Tom
Bid in the amount of $10,000

@964rsdatabase Thank you very much for your comment, I truly appreciate it. Indeed, this is a very well-maintained car and the photos are shown exactly as it is — without any Photoshop editing. I’ve seen some listings on BaT where the cars look untouched by time, almost like they just came out of the factory, but the reality on delivery was quite different. What you see here is exactly what you’ll get.
Great set of photos, detailing what looks like a very honest car. Those potential bidders being put off by the mileage/engine rebuild, don't be. A used car that has been well maintained, will be much more reliable and fun than a car with very low miles that, usually, has had very little maintenance. Good luck with the sale.
@Mulhollander Yes, the car is sold with both sets of rims, and if desired, also with the original steering wheel, the one inscribed RS.
Does it come with both sets of wheels?
