Restored and modified with custom backdated bodywork by Olsen Motorsports in 2017, this 1992 Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Coupe features an upgraded 4.0-liter flat-six engine paired with a short-ratio 5-speed G50 manual transmission. The car is finished in metallic purple paint over custom dark grey leather and Alcantara upholstery. It has been equipped with a MoTeC ECU, Jenvy individual throttle bodies, a limited-slip differential, JRZ coilovers, Brembo brakes, an external oil fillerport, LED lighting, backdated gauges, a MOMO steering wheel, keyless entry, electric air conditioning, and 17” Fuchs-style wheels. Purchased by the seller on PCARMARKET in May 2023, the car has since been fitted with power-adjustable Recaro sport seats and reupholstered matching door panels. This vehicle was then sold on PCARMARKET and is now available once again as the buyer failed to complete the transaction. Driven less than 3k miles since the build completion, this one-of-a-kind 964 backdate is currently being offered for auction out of Florida.
The custom backdated bodywork includes a carbon fiber long-hood nose section, roof, fender flares, and bumpers. The roof rails were shaved, and an external oil filler port was installed on the right rear fender including a custom RS Spyder wheel center lock-inspired cap. The car was finished in a custom purple metallic paint color and decorated with grey Porsche script side stripes, polished door handles and window surrounds, a custom metal decklid grille, 9Eleven Raven S LED headlights with halo DRLs, dual exhaust pipes, and 17” Fuchs-style wheels. New Michelin Pilot Sport tires were mounted in November 2024 and the exterior is covered by a layer of clear paint protection film. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin features dark grey leather and Alcantara upholstery including new power-adjustable Recaro sport seats and matching door panels that were fitted under current ownership. Accessories include carbon fiber trim pieces, an Alcantara headliner, a carbon fiber MOMO steering wheel, a carbon fiber shift knob, backdated VDO instrument dials, Rennline aluminum pedal covers, an aluminum handbrake, aluminum door handles, a fire extinguisher, keyless-entry, electric air conditioning, and a Porsche Classic stereo system.
The air-cooled M64 flat-six engine was rebuilt and upgraded to a 4.0-liter displacement by Olsen Motorsports including an 11.5:1 compression ratio, CP thermal coated pistons, Nikasil-coated cylinders, Ninemeister billet heads, Euro RS-style camshafts, 51mm Jenvy individual throttle bodies, and a MoTeC M-130 ECU. The engine also features dual oil coolers, a Green Cars oil pump, and a custom dual exhaust system. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a rebuilt 5-speed G50 manual transaxle with Bill Rader Motorsports close-ratio gears and a limited-slip differential. Upgraded Brembo slotted disc brakes have been installed and the suspension has been modified with JRZ RS One coilovers, BBI billet uprights, and Elephant Racing links. The seller notes the car was maintained by RUF North America under their ownership including electrical work and an oil change in November 2024.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This is a no-expense-spared build with a completely new interior, recently serviced with new tires and fluids.”

@550bryan The 964 is so, so far superior than G-Body models in every way. That is the reason that Singer starts with them as a donor for their Singer creations.
@TeutonicOZ I'm glad they are switching to the G body, so many more of them, you can't find a stock 964 anymore, and if you d it's $$$.
@TeutonicOZ And they all want to be just like a Singer !
It is just amazing how many retro 964s the Singer concept created.

@efexforever Olsen in Naples has permanently closed, it is no longer !
Bid in the amount of $171,964
That is my question, there is Olsen in Naples.
I would take the car (made by Olsen) to Olsen in Naples.
@efexforever Yes I did ! The car was already in Naples and RUF Miami was only 2 hours away. RUF Miami maintains my RUF Collection as well. They have German trained mechanics.
Bid in the amount of $170,000
Why did you send the car to Ruf Miami instead of Olsen?
Bid in the amount of $165,000
Bid in the amount of $160,000
@Wuliangye well said, thank you
I build outlaws for a hobby and posted this on the last posting. I would estimate this build has already exceeded over $500,000 including the cost of the 964 donor. A+ quality build, with your recent additions. The last 7 years this car spent close to 4 of them in production. I've seen too many of these A+ quality builds sell short of investments by significant $$$ Dollars. This is definitely a $ 1/2 million investment today that I hope sells for it's true value. The Outlaw/backdate market is in it's infancy. Values will soon show signs of improvement, so we can see more of them in production. Great build.
When you show up with a Bespoke build at your local coffee shop your classified as a True Car Guy/Woman !

@wilhit10 I do not agree with that statement. Singer, Gunther Werks, Kaege Automobile, PS Automobile, GS Manufaktur, Julia 911, Air Cooled Classics, Emory Motorsports, Canapa, RUF, Gemballa, Lightspeed Classics, Paul Stevens, Olsen Motorsports, Abreu Motors. Starting prices of a new Backdate/Restomod range from $400,000 to the Singer DLS and everything in between. If anything the overall market for collector cars is maybe a little softer than it was a year or so ago. That being said, this particular Porsche will be sold at a huge discount to the original build cost, the cost of the updates that I completed will not be covered in the final Bid price today. Good luck to all bidders, the lucky one is getting a fabulous car. None of the pictures do it justice. I just showed the car to a Bidder yesterday, he was very impressed.
I sent the car to RUF in Miami to resolve the electrical issue which was from the addition of the electric A/C compressor. It needed to have a direct connection to the battery with an additional Relay installed. The system and everything else works as it should now. RUF in Miami also installed brand new tires and did an oil change. the car was test driven, rechecked and nothing else was recommended. RUF has German trailed mechanics who are very knowledgeable. They work and maintain RUF built cars.
@jjensen thank you for the additional info, please advise on the switch. Spent the last hour reviewing all the records as recommended for Olsen and RUF specially from 2023. May I ask if the car is operating properly at this time and if there have been any further repairs in 2024? Seems as though there were a number of issues especially electrical draining battery with a number of recommendations such as modules, etc. How is this functioning now? Thx again
Bid in the amount of $120,000
These back dates were the in thing 10 years ago.
@skipmots I will check the function of the switch and get back to you. The stock A/C system was not cooling up to my standard, as I live in Naples, Florida. The electric compressor runs at a constant speed, unlike the engine driven A/C compressor which turns at a slow rate at engine idle speed. The stock system is also inefficient due to the distance between the stock compressor at the back of the car and the condenser all the way in the front of the car. There was one condenser in the stock system on the left side, I added an additional condenser on the right side and both now are electric fan driven. The A/C system works great now. Please refer to the Olsen receipts for additional detail. The velocity stacks already have two layers of filter material that cover each one.
@jjensen thank you for the explanation - very helpful on the cap and the seat both. The knob I was referring to is directly above the stereo between the defroster and lighter; appears to be for fog lights. Also, the video shows the car running an AC compressor, but the photos show this is gone because of the electric system in the trunk - when (and why if you know) was that conversion made? One more question - do you have air filters for the velocity stacks? Thx again.
@skipmots there is a wrench made to remove the cap of the same design. It is lightly and I mean lightly torqued. No near the ft. Lbs used to torque wheels nuts !
@skipmots The seat back is adjusted with the black turn knob located where the bottom and the back of the seat meet. You turn it one direction and the seat back will tilt rear, like most Recaro seat designs. The silver one on the side collapses the seat forward so you can put objects in the rear. As far as a fog switch, I am not sure what switch you are referring to. Center counsel has a spoiler switch flanked by two window switches. The top row is a hazard switch, a blank and a switch to turn off the red light that directs your attention to the instrument cluster at start up.
Bid in the amount of $105,000
@jjensen yes that is helpful thank you, didn’t realize that oil cap was being torqued down.
I’m looking at pix for the seats - how are the seat backs adjusted, with the silver knob or another switch? Also, could you tell us what the fog light switch is operating, since there are no fog lights? Thx again
The electrical work was or installing the adjustable height and length seats that I hade made to fit the car. I had to source the correct electrical plugs so as to be able to install the seats. The oil cap is fully functional just like a Singer. It fills the Reservoir Tank and the cap is fully functional, it is tightened and removed with the same Porsche wrench that removes the nut on center lock wheels. So, if a thief happens to possess the wrench for removing Porsche Center Lock wheels, he could potentially remove it. There will be no surprises for the new owner if the car makes Reserve, everything is functional on the car. Does this answer your question ?
@jjensen also a few other questions. The ad states electrical work in Nov 2024, what was that specially? Also, where the oil filler cap was installed, is that functional for oil filling or just for looks? Is that blue cap lockable or potentially an item than can be stolen from the car? Thx again
@porschebf Yes, you have that correct ! I was originally a Canadian car, but has been Titled in Illinois and now Montana. I purchased the car for $275,000 on PCAR and did all the upgrades and enhancements and were professionally done. so, as far as I know, this is the second time on PCAR that I am aware of. The Title is held by me, free and clear. any additional questions ?
@seller is the fog light switch dead - if not what’s it connected to? Thx
the new owner put 163 miles on the car from the May 26 2023 listing. 3 years 163 miles. ?
May 26, 2023 this car sold for $275,000. That May listing indicates this car was previously sold on PCAR.
New owner seems to invest $100,000 towards his preference and sells it Feb 7 2025 for $224,964.
Possible loss of $150,000. Deal doesn’t go through. !!
This is now the 4 time this car is listed on PCAR. Original Canadian model. Can you confirm the title and has the car been registered in America
@ebeller That is correct. I had initial contact with the high bidder to send payment instructions and a Bill of Sale then he stopped answering my requests to follow through on payment.
@ebeller just read the details and the last buyer did not follow through with the purchase
@pcardriver $224,964 was the sales price last month. Wonder why it is back up for sale
No, but you could have SS screens made and insert them behind each opening if you choose. It would not be a big deal. The plug for the battery tender is tucked up behind the opening.
@jjensen Is there a grill missing on the two air intakes on the lower front spoiler?
Anyone remember what the final bid was for the last auction here?
That sounds right, I know that there was a discussion about the cams installed in the car. The ones chosen yielded a little less HP but made the car more of a street driver with more low end torque. It was easy to drive and take off in first gear without stalling the engine. I really loved the clutch in the car, rather a longer throw and easy to press. I have a couple of 997’s that have a much heavier clutch feel, stock from Porsche.
@JJensen the HP for the 4.0 is around 350? Didn’t see a dyno in the records. Did Olen do one?
@Jamesawinn77 The original amp and door speakers and subwoofer were removed by Olsen , they may have kept the amp and subwoofer , but all the cables, wires etc. were professionally removed and terminated so as not to cause any electrical issues. Don’t think the old stuff will ever find its way back into the car. The sound system works great as is and you have the 4.0 orchestra behind you !
Sorry. One additional question. Did you remove the full audio system less the Porsche classic head unit? Or are the JL amps still driving the sound? Are you providing that audio gear with the car?
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
What’s the approximate HP? Did Olsen do a dyno?
Bid in the amount of $101,964
Given the car's age, it would have likely been exempt from emissions testing in Illinois.
Bid in the amount of $100,000
Car runs fabulous on 93 Octane fuel, also has new twin cats ( again better than stock ) and should pass a smog test. I do not know if one has ever been done, but the car was built and licensed in Illinois which requires testing.
Hello, all PCM bidders. You have another chance to own this fabulous Porsche. The high bidder in the last auction did not follow through with the purchase of the car. He strung me along for several weeks and stopped answering my e-mails so I finally gave up. When Olsen built the car it had a different interior. The interior was built for the owner’s taste, certainly not mine. The seats were two tone and non adjustable and not correct for the car. It had a huge and heavy subwoofer box constructed of heavy plywood replacing the rear seats. I probably took 150 pounds out of the rear of the car. The door cards have also been replaced using the original brushed nickel hardware, but eliminating the original door speakers and replacing them with units with a better look. The interior is beautiful now, pictures do not do it justice. The radio is original Porche classic with Bluetooth. The A/C is has an electric compressor with twin condensers up front with electric fans. Works so much better than stock and draws no power from the 4.0 power plant. This car has been fully upgraded with the best components to make it how you see it now. I Hope this answers multiple questions. Good luck to all bidders.
Looks like the interior is different in the video, was the hertz stereo system removed since the Olsen build? The video shows several speakers in each door, looks like seats and door cards were replaced as well
I’m confused. Wasn’t this the same one sold a month or so ago, with a different interior??
Are you able to provide any context on the most recent transaction for the vehicle. I saw it previously sold here not long ago. Did that not get finalized? I’ve been following this vehicle since I first saw it, so any info you can share would be appreciated.
Will this car perform well on 91 octane pump gas or is something else required?
This is a beautiful car and love the ultra violet color. What happened with the seats in the video?
