This 1992 Porsche 964 Carrera 2 was originally sold from Shelton Porsche of Naples, Florida, as one of 715 U.S.-market Coupes built for the model year.  Factory equipment includes special-order Coral Red Metallic paint, Beige/Black partial leather upholstery, an optional limited-slip differential, and a rear window wiper. The car has also been upgraded with 17” Cup-style wheels, RS-style brake ducts, RS-style door panels, a Carrera RS steering wheel, and “Big Red” 993 Turbo brakes in front.  Acquired by the current owner in 2019, this Carrera 2 is now being offered for auction out of California showing approximately 76k miles on the odometer.

This 964 highlights rarely seen Coral Red Metallic paint, a factory special-order color with a $1,015 premium on the window sticker.  Equipment includes late-model Cup Design mirrors, an optional rear window wiper, red-painted brake calipers, and RS-style front air duct inserts.  The car has also been fitted with a set of 17” Cup-style wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires from 2019.  The seller notes the front end has been preserved under clear paint protection film including the mirror housings, additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The Black and Beige partial leather interior has been outfitted with lightweight RS-style door panels, red seatbelts, a stainless-steel accelerator pedal and floorboard, Coco floor mats, and a Carrera RS Euro steering wheel.  The lower dashboard has been removed and standard manually adjustable seats have been fitted in place of the original electrical units. The sound system has also been overhauled with upgraded speakers and an Alpine Bluetooth head unit.

The air-cooled 3.6L flat-six engine produces up to 247 HP and drives the rear wheels through a 5-speed G50 manual transmission with an optional limited-slip differential.  Stiffer Rebel Racing engine mounts have been installed and the front brakes have been upgraded with 993 Turbo “Big Red” Brembo calipers and cross-drilled rotors.  Annual oil changes have been carried out during the current ownership and a collection of service records will accompany the sale.

This sale will include the original owner's manuals and a clean title.

@Orange911 the tabs are broken! I will offer to buy the part or reimburse for the cost to replace. I believe there is a kit for that. In todays auction I'm gonna include cup holders in center console that replaced the cassette tape storage.

  • vintagebrokers (seller) 2 years, 10 monthsago

@Orange911 Thats correct the original set of Cup wheels are painted black. If the car is sold on this auction i will include the original set.

  • Orange911 (registered bidder) 2 years, 10 monthsago

@vintagebrokers Please address the question of the console attachments possibly being broken, or broken anchor tabs

The wheels are stated as “Cup style”. I’m assuming these are not factory cup II wheels. Please indicate if factory.

@stevesc_us the picture is actually there next to pics of the spare tire you see headliner material and patch in the dead center. Direct message me and i can send them directly to you

  • stevesc_us 2 years, 10 monthsago

My apologies, you did in fact post the more detailed photos of this area. The additional pics were not refreshed on my screen when I looked previously. Much appreciated.

  • stevesc_us 2 years, 10 monthsago

@vintagebrokers The additional picture of the headliner you posted does not show a close of the patched area I mentioned previously. Your new picture is a close up of the driver’s side. The patch I’m referring to is on the passenger side just below the right bottom corner of the sunroof. You can see it somewhat in Picture #33. A more close up pic of this area would be appreciated. Thanks

@Newb26 Those are indeed upgraded from stock. They are Bilstein PSS10 coilovers

  • Newb26 2 years, 10 monthsago

The suspension looks upgraded, what is it?

  • vintagebrokers (seller) 2 years, 10 monthsago

@andrewn see pictures of headliner, Spare tire and tool kit all in tact. Good luck bidding!

  • vintagebrokers (seller) 2 years, 10 monthsago

@andrewn Yes the Spare Tire is intact and underneath is clean ill add pics of that and headliner today. As for the trim piece loose in center ill update a reply today

  • PCARMARKET_MODERATOR 2 years, 10 monthsago

A new video has been added to the listing page.

  • andrewn (registered bidder) 2 years, 10 monthsago

To follow up the previous question can we see better pics of the headliner and it’s condition. Also, can we get some pics of the front trunk with the carpet removed?

The center console appears to have a loose/broken trim piece. Will this be replaced/fixed before auction end?

  • stevesc_us 2 years, 10 monthsago

I see the patched tear in the headliner near the right bottom corner of the sunroof is still there. The headliner was white before so I guess now that it’s dyed black it’s at least less noticeable now. Good luck with the auction. Have always loved this color.

@andrewn Please see uploaded pics of Door cards, Dash Trim and Steering wheel that ARE included with the sale. Pics of paint meter readings have also been added. This car has definitely been repainted on most panels, however there is no bondo, no evidence of any accidents and every panel seems original to the car. Tomorrow i will upload video clips. Good luck bidding!!
