In late 1990, Land Rover’s 90 and 110 series trucks gained the Defender namesake along with the option of a new 200TDi engine. This 1992 Land Rover Defender 90 soft top is said to have undergone a complete frame-off restoration by a specialist in Southern Europe including new Aventurine Green paint, a reupholstered interior, and custom exterior accessories. The vehicle’s 200TDi engine and 5-speed manual gearbox were also refreshed during the process. Having completed its restoration in October 2022, the Defender has been imported to the U.S. and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.
The restoration of this Defender 90 included complete disassembly and separation of the body from its frame followed by a repaint in the current Aventurine Green color. The truck includes a new black soft top with roll-up windows, body-color mirrors, a vented windshield cowl, a folding rear step, a Puma-style hood, mud flaps, and painted 16” steel wheels with a matching full-size spare mounted on the rear swing-out carrier. It rides on a set of Yokohama Geolander M/T G005 tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin has been refinished in a matching paint color and features new black vinyl front bucket seats with houndstooth centers along with matching inward-facing rear jump seats and door panels. Accessories include a black four-spoke steering wheel, carpet floor mats, sliding front windows, a heater/defroster, and a Marshall Bluetooth speaker integrated with the center console.
Power comes from a refurbished 2.5-liter 200TDi turbocharged diesel engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and a locking center differential. The seller adds that a complete mechanical overhaul was performed during the restoration and there are no outstanding maintenance items.
This sale will include a clean title.
