Available for auction is this 1991 Volkswagen Vanagon GL Westfalia finished in Flash Silver Metallic over a grey cloth interior. Named after the Westfalia region of Germany where they are based, Wefalia-Werke is a renowned builder of Volkswagen camper vans. This 1991 example was acquired by the seller in 2018 and has since been treated to regular service and is said to have covered approximately 20k kilometers during that time. It features a 2.1L flat-four cylinder engine mated to a 3-speed automatic transaxle, swiveling front captains chairs, a kitchenette featuring a fold-out table, a sink, a stove, cabinetry, a refrigerator, and more. This VW is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Canada while showing approximately 271k kilometers (168k miles) on its odometer.
This Westfalia comes finished in Flash Silver Metallic (LP7Y) and features a pop-up camper roof. Features include connections for 120-volt power and water tanks, upgraded LED lighting, an extendable awning, a rear tow hitch, and a set of 14” black finished Volkswagen “dog dish” wheels with chrome hubcaps. The wheels come dressed in a set of WestLake Radial SC301 tires, which were installed in 2018. The seller notes some areas of the body have been refinished, additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is upholstered in grey cloth and features front swiveling captain chairs. The rear includes a fold-out sleeper bench as well as a kitchenette with a stove, refrigerator, and sink. Other amenities include a fold-out table, storage compartments, privacy curtains, and an auxiliary battery. The electric pump for the auxiliary fresh water tank and the auxiliary battery is said to have been replaced under current ownership. The seller states that all gauges and accessories remain functional with the exception of the air conditioning unit which has not yet been updated to use R134 refrigerant.
Power is supplied by a 2.1-liter flat-four-cylinder engine which drives the rear wheels by way of a 3-speed automatic transaxle. Service under current ownership has included new rubber fuel lines, brake lines, and fluid, a new fuel tank, pump and filter, new vent tanks, ball joints, hookup boxes, and an upgraded gear reduction style starter.
