This 1991 Porsche 964 Carrera 4 Coupe is said to have been originally specified for the German domestic market and was later imported to Italy in 1996. Acquired by the previous owner in 2020, this example underwent a custom safari-style offroad build including an Elephant Racing suspension lift kit, fender flare extensions, rally lights, a bumper winch, a performance exhaust system, and a custom Pascha velour interior. Imported to the United States by its seller in May 2023 and previously sold on PCARMARKET, this adventure-ready Carrera 4 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Georgia.
Finished in Black with contrasting satin racing stripes, this Coupe has been customized with riveted metal fender extensions, an RS-style ducktail spoiler, mudguards, and custom bumpers with tow shackles and a front-mounted Rhino winch. The original headlamps have been retrofitted with a bi-led Intelligent matrix lighting system and a rally light pod is mounted on the hood with four auxiliary lamps. It rides on aftermarket black and grey painted 16” wheels with Bridgestone Blizzak DM V3 winter tires. The seller notes minor paint imperfections including light swirls and some water spots, and detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin has been reupholstered with classic Pascha velour inserts on the seats and door panels. Other details include a Heigo bolt-in roll bar, a tall rally-style shift lever, a three-spoke Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, and a set of rally timers mounted on a custom guilloché plate in place of the radio. The seller adds that the air conditioning system has been converted to R/134 and is in proper working condition. Some cracking on the leather and spots on the dashboard are noted, and the driver’s side mirror motor is currently inoperable.
The air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine is said to have been fitted with a modified performance chip, air filter, and exhaust system for an output of approximately 300 HP. All four wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed G50 manual transmission. The chassis is said to have been reinforced and paired with an Elephant Racing suspension lift kit providing a raise of about 7”. A comprehensive service is said to have been completed in 2020 during the initial build, and the seller adds that a custom tune and exhaust have been added. Additionally, a pre-purchase inspection was reportedly carried out upon the seller’s acquisition, which noted a transmission leak and torn axle boot which have been repaired. No outstanding maintenance items have been reported.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Thanks for viewing the car! It can handle anything from the dirt to 4-hour road trips. All maintenance from AC conversion to trans leak was addressed to make it a great fun daily. I just added these brand-new BF Goodrich All Terrain T/O for a beefier & truer look. Very fun car that’s capable of whatever you throw at it, the car is located in Atlanta GA & can be seen in person or via FaceTime if need be.”

@Marcolib hey Marco, just added it. Also added further document showing diff leak that was fixed. The blower fan was also fixed by Foremost eliminating heat that was coming down near pedals referenced in original PPI done by Buckhead Imports

Hi, can you post PPI from when you bought the car please?
@TRNR2512 just uploaded my POV driving videos, there is some slight sounds but to me sounds like seat creaking
@TRNR2512 @manocherianjon
Just watched that video, not sure what all the creaking is, tomorrow you will have video of the current cabin experience sound & all. In my experience the car does not make all those weird noises, noted prior that I did repair the torn axel boot not sure if that would have been causing weird sounds.
@manocherianjon and @gooby336 you are both correct. In the previous sale link posted 2 days ago there is a video of the car on bumpy urban side streets, and there are noticeable rattles n groans. Bracing, mounts, fitment/fastening, no frunk cross brace, who knows. Nice look and wonderful exhaust note.

@manocherianjon not sure what you’re talking about as of this moment have not uploaded in cabin video.
“Is the cabin making noise in the video you posted due to high mileage and lack of reinforced parts? Curious how this holds up with further use”
@Gooby336 helpful and honest. Eagerly watching.
@agmezger fit & finish is ok & it’s held up fine. Saying it it’s just ok because of the fitment of bumpers/ducktail/interior work. It’s not awful by any means, but it isn’t the greatest. There’s some cracking in random spots of the paint that’s pictured & some haziness but I believe that’s from the previous owner to me actually using it off road & in the snow. If I was keeping the car long term I would probably redo the seats & add radio (I hate cars without radio)
Exterior wise I like how the car looks a lot! I probably would have done without the tow winch & opted for an impact bar on the front bumper or something of the sort.
Selling the vehicle due to relocating for work & already having 2 other air cooled 911’s that I’m building I’ve gone a little too far the rabbit hole on. Have a 964 C2 being rebuilt to a 3.8 & a backdate’d 87 ST style build.
As a daily it is fun to drive! The AC isn’t ice cold but it’s cold enough for burning hot Atlanta, the extra power from tune/exhaust gives the car a nice little bump that makes it more enjoyable to scurry around traffic in!

Just a few questions:
1. The builders (Italian Steel Art) look to have only done a few cars, how has the build held up since you've owned it? Anything you'd do differently or change if you were keeping it?
2. I didn't see in the write-up why you were selling so soon after buying it?
3. How is it as a daily? Pleasurable to drive?
Thanks and GLTWA
@Marcolib yes, you can’t see a plate in photos because I keep it in my back window. Car is registered in North Carolina after going through the painstaking process of importing it here from Italy. I have a clean North Carolina Title in hand ready for the winner of the auction!
Is the car registered in the US for road use?

@gpmotors realized I could upload the photos myself, just added!

@gpmotors regarding documentation of build, https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/1991-porsche-911-carrera-4-safari/
You can see some photos of the build process there. I have receipts for the AC, axle boot & transmission leak fixes since those were done by me once car got here to US.
@gpmotors uploaded them waiting for website admins to upload!
@seller any undercarriage pictures? Any documentation on the build comes with the car?
Thanks a lot. Looking forward!
@Marcolib your wish is my command, give me a few hours for a some videos.
@TRNR2512 Italian Street Art in Rome did the build originally!
Any videos of car starting up? Maybe a driving video as well?
Can the seller tell us what shop did the build in 2020?
Bid in the amount of $50,000
@bemoryusn only selling due to lack of space, moving to Florida & already have 2 other air cooled in the garage. It was great fun & has very serious road presence any time I drive it!
This is a great car and what I've been dreaming about to do with a 911 for driving up here in Alaska. Elephant racing did impressive work. Curious why it is being sold so soon, less than a year. Thanks.
