A custom restoration by GS Manufaktur in Germany, this 1991 Porsche 964 Carrera 4 served as the original prototype for the Apparatus GS 964 backdate. The build commenced in 2018 and included backdated carbon composite bodywork, custom trim, Bilstein suspension, 993 Turbo brakes, a 3.8-liter RS-spec engine build, and a bespoke dark blue leather interior with houndstooth upholstery. The result of extensive planning and dedication to craftsmanship, this original prototype Apparatus GS 964 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Canada.
The bodywork of this 964 has been customized with a backdated long-hood nose section and custom bumpers made from fiberglass and carbon fiber. The exterior is finished in the classic Mercedes-Benz color of Graphite Grey (DB-190) and adorned with blue stripe graphics and yellow PORSCHE lettering along the doors. Other details include custom aluminum mirrors with electric motors, custom LED headlamps, a center-mounted fuel filler, yellow-painted brake calipers, and custom dual center-exit exhaust. The custom GS 17” Fuchs wheels are finished with blue centers and “GS” logo center caps.
The cabin is lined with classic grey square weave carpeting and trimmed in a combination of dark blue and black leather with deviated stitching and pepita houndstooth inserts on the seats, door panels, and dashboard. Other details include an Alcantara headliner, a billet aluminum shifter, yellow RS-style door pulls, a yellow tachometer dial, a three-spoke MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, and custom Recaro bucket seats with painted backrest shells and embossed GS Manufaktur logos. A retro-style Bluetooth radio has also been installed and paired with new speakers and an amplifier.
The original air-cooled flat-six engine is said to have been completely rebuilt and upgraded to 3.8-liter RS specifications, resulting in an output of approximately 320 HP. All four wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed G50 manual gearbox with a short shift kit and FD Motorsports Golden Rod. An upgraded Bilstein suspension has also been installed along with larger 993 Turbo brakes and a custom valved exhaust system with headers.
This sale will include a clean title.

@Sunny best thing to do is go to the site. Here you find all the info on the GS builds.

RS spec engine. What does this mean other than the use of 3.8 P&Cs ? Are there changes to the head, intake, exhaust, tune, valve train (mechanical vs hydraulic) etc ?
@garrege No real weak points, just fit, finish and usage. I would compare the images in this auction vs the last one that sold. Very comparable. We have a couple of more videos that will be uploaded as well!
Bid in the amount of $128,000
You've said this is an early car while GS was finding their footing.
What improvements have been made to the more current cars?
In other words, what are the weak points of THIS car where GS changed the design?
What parts of the car are fiberglass and what parts are carbon fiber?
@isolf there is a crack in the finish, please remember, this car is a prototype, these are new Carbon body components which GS was finding their footing. So treat the bodywork like you would on a very early Ferrari F40.
Great looking car!
Can you explain what we are looking at in pictures 105 and 106. Is the paint damaged there?

Bid in the amount of $55,000
@JDCar599 The car is located at Pfaff Reserve, 101 Auto Park Circle, Woodbridge
Are there any pictures with the lights on?
Is the car at Pfaff in N. Toronto?
Beautiful car all around, but that interior is jaw-dropping!

Good Morning and welcome to our latest auction! We’re very excited to offer this 1991 Porsche 911 C4 from GS Manufaktur. This is one of the first prototypes built to pave the way for future builds.
In our experience with the car we’ve fallen in love with it’s camy idle, very satisfying ride height and stance, smooth power delivery and overall great suspension and brakes.
The details are also pouring out of this build with the carbon weave showing through the bodywork, exceptional interior leathers and details and lastly a very nice overall build given it’s a prototype.
