Finished in Black Metallic over black leather, this 1991 Porsche 964 Carrera 4 Coupe has undergone a comprehensive RS-style transformation, including lightweight components and an engine displacement increase to 3.8 liters, reportedly upgraded to achieve RSR-specification by a renowned specialist in the Netherlands. The build also incorporates 18” BBS E88 wheels, a 991 GT3 center-mounted exhaust system, Recaro Sportster CS seats, a MOMO steering wheel, Rennline interior appointments, Steve Wong engine tuning, 103mm cylinder case and pistons, 964 RS camshafts, a Sachs clutch kit, Fabspeed headers, a rebuilt G50 5-speed manual transmission, and more. Originally delivered in Germany and imported to the United States in 2024, this tastefully appointed 964 Carrera 4 is now available for auction out of Florida with approximately 250k kilometers or 155k miles showing on the odometer.
This Coupe has received a professional glass-out refinish in its factory-specified shade of Black Metallic (Z8). Exterior modifications include RS-style aero side mirrors, RS-style front bumper air ducts, deletion of the bumperettes to European specification, and a 991 GT3-derived center-exit exhaust system. It rides on gold-finished 18” BBS E88 five-lug wheels with polished outer lips and Hankook Ventus V12 tires measuring 225/40 up front and 265/35 in the rear. A collection of images is provided in the gallery.
The black leather interior presents Recaro Sportster CS seats and a MOMO MOD07 deep-concave steering wheel. Additional enhancements include a Function First black anodized shift knob and Rennline interior trim components such as black anodized perforated door handles, an anodized ignition bezel, and a matte black phone mount. A Porsche Classic Communication Management (PCCM) radio system with Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth connectivity has also been fitted.
The car’s original air-cooled flat-six engine has been enlarged to 3.8 liters and delivers power to all four wheels through its numbers-matching, rebuilt 5-speed G50 manual transmission. The engine build was reportedly completed in May 2009 by a reputable air-cooled specialist in the Netherlands and features 103mm cylinder cases and pistons, 964 RS camshafts, and a Steve Wong ECU tune. A major service was performed in the Netherlands in 2022, which included new timing covers, cam seals, valve cover gaskets, a new SACHS clutch kit, and an alternator/fan belt. The CCU unit was also rebuilt and is said to provide ice-cold air conditioning. Upon the car’s importation to the U.S. in December 2024, additional maintenance included a new valve cover gasket set, timing chain cover set, O-ring seals, spark plugs, fuel filter, alternator and fan belts, intake sleeve boots, air filter, battery, and an oil change. Lammertink coilovers, a new Sachs clutch kit, and a performance 991 GT3 center-exit exhaust and Fabspeed RSR headers were also installed. Additionally, the seller has provided the engine and leak-down test results below:
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “A true driving enthusiast's car with tasteful, thoughtful, and methodically appointed details. Vehicle includes clean Montana title, along with the original Netherlands title, invoices & maintenance records and a fully detailed excel sheet of the build by Modifica Classica including all restoration and modifications since acquiring the car. Also includes original Dutch documentation from the previous owner regarding the 3.8L piston and cylinder conversion on this 1991 964 Carrera 4. The car absolutely rips and has to be one of the fastest most engaging 964 driver’s cars I have ever owned and built.
From the seller: Thanks for taking a look at my 964 auction. This 911 3.8L RS tribute is an absolute growling monster. Having built and owned several other 964s, this is an incredibly responsive and thrilling drive, and the tasteful updates such as the GT3 center outlet exhaust with Fabspeed RSR headers, and cabin accoutrements such as the Recaro Sportster CS seats in leather and the Porsche classic radio make for a great combination. I am an industrial designer by trade, and building and restoring air-cooled 911s is my absolute passion. I have all build invoices over the last 6 months, as well as a full excel document detailing all that was done to the car since taking ownership.”

@amissair appreciate the kind words, the intoxicating sounds of the 3.8L coupled with the gt3 exhaust and headers, the sense of speed even in just 2nd and 3rd gear, the planted handling, and the refined cabin all contribute to make for an incredible driving experience in this 64.
@EnthusiastB thanks for the kind words!
@NYSport thanks for the assist, I also added images of various paint meter readings in the gallery indicative of the full respray.

@Buh_buh I uploaded screen shots of the invoice English translations from Dutch for the previous 3.8L engine build and previous body work and paint work.
I also uploaded my recent major invoice from KMW Motorsports here in South Florida for the Sachs clutch kit, valve cover gaskets, timing chain covers, cam seals, alternator fan belt, and a bunch of other miscellaneous items.
There is no supporting documentation for the previous transmission rebuild.
@gscott55 I sold a previous 3.8L 964 to California that passed smog, it also was equipped with a Fabspeed RSR header setup with Fabspeed dual outlet exhaust.

Ad mentions engine and separate transmission rebuild. How long ago/what mileage were those at? Any receipts for those?
Any idea if this would pass CA smog?
Just wanted to introduce myself, this is an incredible 964 with a beautifully executed 3.8L, completely dialed in and absolutely growls every chance it gets. I’ll do my best to answer any questions as they come up. Thanks for looking!
