Featuring an air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine mated to a 5-speed G50 manual transaxle, this 1991 Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Cabriolet is finished in Guards Red over a Light Grey and Black partial leather interior. The current owner acquired it in April 2024, and it has since undergone over $18k worth of upgrades and reconditioning, including new springs with Euro-spec ride height, new leather seat covers, A/C system service, an FVD Brombacher cat-less center muffler bypass pipe, and genuine 18” RUF wheels. Showing under 55k miles on the odometer, this 964 is now being offered for auction out of Georgia.
The exterior is finished in Guards Red with a power-operated black convertible top that was replaced in 2021. Equipment includes integrated fog lights, power-adjustable aero mirrors, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and a periscope-style third brake light. A set of new 18” RUF 5-spoke wheels was purchased and installed with new Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires in June 2024. The seller describes the exterior as being in good overall condition with minor imperfections, including paint fading on the right front fender and some fogginess on the convertible top rear window. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The Light Grey and Black partial leather interior includes 8-way power-adjustable front seats, power window and door locks, automatic climate control, cruise control, an Alpine cassette stereo, and custom red Coco floor mats. The seller indicates the front seat leather upholstery was replaced under their ownership, and the carpets and remaining interior items were extensively cleaned. The seatbelt warning light is present, and the fuel gauge operates erratically; however, the seller is working to address these items before the end of the auction.
The air-cooled 3.6-liter M64 flat-six engine was factory-rated at 247 HP and 228 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed G50 manual transaxle. The engine was modified with an FVD Brombacher cat-less center muffler bypass pipe under current ownership, the air conditioning system was serviced, and the suspension was lowered to Euro-spec ride height with new springs. The engine was rebuilt under previous ownership in 2021, including a new fuel pump, belts, and spark plugs.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “It has been a pleasure to be the caretaker of this amazing Cabriolet. @juniordrums I meant to type carfax…
I’m curious why the cardiac shows the vehicle was sold last year in March, May, and September?
This car has held the same spot in the garage for months and no evident oil leaks of any significance that I have ever noticed. The car is at Joes, I will have him look and give a more professional answer
@edcmoulton Yes Ed they are available and can come with the car
Are the front oil lines leaking? from the photo of the bottom right bumper cover it looks like oil. And are there any engine oil leaks?
Bid in the amount of $30,928
Saw receipt where RUF wheels were added. Are original wheels included in this sale? Ditto for suspension and exhaust mods. Are original parts available/included?

@TheGerman 1. Yes the AC has been converted to r134a. 2. IF someone were to want to have the windshield pulled and repair that MAY be $1500-$2000 around here maybe less according to my paint guy, Again there is no evidenidence it is in the window channel, so it could possibly be done just removing the Gasket. It is something I chose not to address because it is just a bubble now and isolated and the way and climate that I store the car in. SO I guess in the Porsche world it is whatever you consider very expensive. The trunk lid edge is a chip, not rust. Thanks for the observation though!
Have you already switched the AC refrigerant to R134a?
By the way, repairing the bubbles on the passenger side of the windshield is very expensive, as it is very labor-intensive if you want to do it properly. The bubbles on the trunk lid are not as big a problem as those on the windshield. I had both problems with one of my 964s too
...and this ruby stone PORSCHE doesn't even have A/C and no cruise control for the money yet.
Hmmm, Mine isnt ruby stone, but….. these things are moving! Dont let it slip through you hands over a few $000.

@Mccheez Thanks so much for the detailed reply. As you know, in these auctions, all we have are the photos, videos, and listing notes to make an informed assessment before bidding. So I’d always rather ask than make assumptions. That said, your reply shows your passion for Porsche, and I truly appreciate both the time you took to answer my questions, new documents and new photos and the investment you’ve made in the car over the years.
Okay folks, when you wake up, we will be in the final hours! Don’t let this amazing car get by you! You will look forward to every drive. There is still plenty of Cabriolet weather left and this car will need nothing! Enjoy it with confidence the day you get it. Thanks again and lets get this sold!
Check out the files added above for the $18 work completed in the last year or so.
Okay I have added about every angle I can of the right fender, Again, this was a scratch repair, not a dent repair, so the paint nearly meters as factory. But again, I do not believe the next owner will want to mess with it, because going down the road or even sitting at a show it isn’t noticeable, Unless you are going to do a rotisserie restoration, don’t mess with it. Okay the airbag light also has been addressed and I have a new fuel sending unit on the way, so the fuel level light will be addressed as well.
Dang I wish I could edit the post, I hate typos, forgive me. Jim? Domenic? Can we get the ability n to edit posts as selllers? Lol!
@stanlution Thanks for the questions, I am not with the car, but I have Joe sending me additional photos of the cowl and fender. I thought the files were already up on the service, sorry. Domenic at PCAR assured me they would be up in 5 minutes. There is a small chip on the passengers side bottom of the deck lid, I have sent pictures, It is so small Never noticed it, the HD pictures when often show more than can easily be made out. It 34 year old paint, lol. I am sure there may be other small chips I have never noticed. I wasn’t really planning on selling the car and the spot on the cowl is more of a bubble and I keep my cars in an air conditioned garage, so I wasn’t going to worry about it. It does not appear to be back in the wind shield channel, so it all depends on how far you would want to go. As with the scratch repair on the fender, these reds are difficult to get perfect and showing something that isnt growing, I original paint to me is better than trying to fix something and trying to explain the ill matching paint. The paint on the gas lid does almost look like it has PPF on it that is wrinkling a little, the color matches, I have no iead why it is doing if, but it meters fine and I cant explain it, so I left it rather than taking a Chance on having an mis matched fuel door. I figure the cars are only original once. It has lived 35 years and travelled 55k miles. I would hat to start chasing small things and end up having to paint the entire car and it no longer be original. Please dont take this as a flex, because I am a pretty down to earth guy, but i am a Porsche freak. I have 24 of these P Cars in my collection and on my Hagerty’s policy, so I am obviously pretty particular. I love originality, I care for the cars and address any important items and love them for what they are. Amazing historical, well engineered investments that I can have a lot of fun with woth very little downside risk. The engine has never been rebuilt, no need. I just did the exhaust and added the tune to even out the flat spots in the torque curve that kind of plagued every 964 out there. Thanks

Some questions may be due to image distortion, (apologies in advance).
1. In the photos, the gas door appears to show some paint bubbling or failure?
2. Similarly, the corners of the engine deck lid also look like the paint may be failing?
3. Could you also share more detailed photos of the passenger-side fender and door jamb area/ cowl area ?
4. Would you be able to upload records from the engine rebuild?
5. Also, do you have documentation for the other work that’s been done under your ownership?
6. What would you estimate for the cost of repairing the lower cowl rust damage?
@nimaet Thanks for the bid!

@Luis It has the original interior. I replaced the leather on the front seats with the correct leather.
What is the original color of the interior?
Uploaded the Paint Mils. The front right fender is the only panel with a reading above 8. So I do think there was a scratch that a previous owner had fixed and blended. But no evidence of filler or body work at all. All of the remaining panels are 5-8 which are factory mils. I did discover a spot I had forgot about at the passenger side base of the windshield that is beginning to bubble. The only spot on the car. I would have had it repaired but wanted yall to see it first. I wouldn’t worry about it until I decided, if ever to paint the car. But if you want it fixed it would be a fairly easy fix and I will even have my guy who is great do it, if it is important to you. Sorry for not pointing it out earlier, honestly I had forgot about it and didn’t notice it again until I was getting the readings. Thanks

@vonmec I will do that tomorrow, Thank you!
Is it original finish - did you paint meter the car? Can you share the results?
Outstanding build, glws!
Hey Folks, We had a great auction on the 85 Carrera earlier in the week. The new owner is getting ready to receive his beautiful car soon! The funds accumulation for Monterey continues. I usually dont buy cars to sell. I buy cars to make them the best version of themselves and drive, enjoy and share with friends. I have a goal though and need to make some room and some $$. So now we have my absolutely amazing 1991 Carrera 2 Cabriolet in beautiful original Guards red over Raspberry interior and black top! I lowered the car to the proper level with Eibach lowering springs, recovered the front seats which were the only worn part of the immaculate interior with new and correct leather, set it off with New RUF 18 inch wheels, real from RUF in Germany not ropops , corrected the weak spots in the torque curve in the 964 3.6 and finally got it sounding right with FVP Cat bypass and High flow mufflers. This thing is simply amazing. It was a hard choice, I somehow put together 2 amazing Cabs and since I have several triple black cars, I chose to keep my 993 with RS rockers and cool DAS Sport roll bar, it just fit my collection better, so the 964 gets to go to a new caretaker. Again all of the work completed by our DAS Sport classics shop and Joe at JFRAZAR Sports car services in Savannah. For you Cali guys, I still have the factory Cat and exhaust and even stock springs. The AC is Ice Cold and all of the 964 heat is in it. Top works, Seats work. The car needs nothing but to be loved and enjoyed. I look forward to seeing this car get the love it so deserves. Thanks everyone!
