Originally specified for the German home market, this 1991 Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Cabriolet was eventually brought to the Netherlands where it underwent a full restoration including the Turbo-look or “WTL” conversion we see today. It was also enhanced with a set of Speedline wheels, Turbo brakes, a dual exhaust system, and H&R springs. Showing approximately 149k kilometers or about 92k miles on the odometer, this remarkable 964 is now being offered for auction by its restorers out of Europe.
This 964 is said to have been completely disassembled and refinished in its original Guards Red color from the inside out. Wide Turbo-look fenders were installed along with matching bumpers and rockers to accommodate authentic 18” Porsche-Speedline wheels. The seller notes the body conversion was completed using all new and original parts, and the wheels come dressed in Michelin tires from 2021. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
Inside, this Carrera 2 has been fitted with new carpeting and a pair of reupholstered black leather Sport Seats from a 911 Turbo. Accessories include automatic climate control, cruise control, power windows and mirrors, a cabin wind defelctor, and an eclectically operated convertible top with a matching boot cover. A modern Blaupunkt radio has been installed as well.
An air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine drives the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed G50 manual transmission. An upgraded dual exhaust system with carbon fiber tips has been installed and the engine compartment sheet metal is said to have been replaced during a major mechanical service. The original shock absorbers are paired with H&R lowering springs for a more aggressive stance and the upgraded brakes offer superior stopping power. A complete service history is said to be available and there are no outstanding maintenance items according to the seller.
This sale will include the original owner’s manuals, toolkit, a spare tire, air pump, tonneau cover, documentation, and clean German title.
The seller would like you to know: “Thanks for visiting this auction. This is your chance to bid on an absolutely perfect Porsche 964 C2 WTL convertible. I think the pictures speak for themselves. Are you looking for a fantastic looking 964 with all the maintenance done for the next years, this is your chance!”

@912harley Hi, the engine was not rebuild but had big maintenance done. Compression on al6 cylinders is good, we checked it today. The condition of the engine is very very good. Before the rebuild the Porsche had no rust and no damage and was also in very good shape. Thanks
Hi, Couple of questions.
Has the engine been rebuilt?
What was the compression on the cylinders?
What did the car look like before all this work?
Thanks

@razq8 Good morning, Thanks for your message. To answer your questions, - mechanically the car has had a big service were the fluids were changed, spark plugs were changed, filters changed, the valves were set correctly and all the sheet metal of the engine bay is new and coated. The clutch has been changed also. - matching numbers indeed - the car has been registered in Germany and in spring 2022 the car has had a new TÜV were everything was tested and this was all ok. (also smog test etc.) Since the car is European it is no problem at all to drive it here, register it and go.

Bid in the amount of $2,500
Does the car reside in US or will it have to be shipped from Netherlands? Cost?
Bid in the amount of $1,911
@wickedmotorworks Hi, as far as I know there shouldn't be much problems to register the car in California, but since we are from The Netherlands I suggest it's better to contact someone who knows the procedures. Payment will go via Pcarmarket and we can arrang insured door to door transport of the car. (we have done this before). All the best
Is it a Euro car, if so, would it have to go through modifications to be legal in California? And how would payment and shipping work?
