Up for auction is this 1991 Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Coupe. The 964 coupe is considered by many to be one of the most desirable of all Air-Cooled Porsche models. With its unique color combination, 5-speed manual transmission, and an extensive amount of recent service work, this 964 is not to be overlooked. It is now being offered by its seller with 82k miles on the odometer out of Pennsylvania.
With the intention of bringing this Carrera to a higher-level, the seller recently commissioned a professional refinish of its rare, original color of Amazon Green Metallic. The seller states that all paint shows to be in excellent condition which is backed up by the gallery photos. Currently installed are a set of upgraded OEM 17” Porsche Cup 2 wheels that wear Yokohoma tires.
The beige and black leather interior is stated to be in great condition with minor signs of wear (detailed images are available in the photo gallery). A few noteworthy options include a factory sunroof, upgraded stereo system with Pioneer head unit, automatic cruise control, 2+2 split folding rear seats, a rear window wiper, and a factory amplifier. All electronics are said to be in working order.
This 964 retains its original 3.6 L M64 flat-six engine that produces approximately 250HP and 228 ft/lb of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels by way of a desirable G50 5-speed manual transmission. In 2016, a major service was carried out which included the replacement of important items such as: fluids and filters, crankcase gasket, piston rings, cylinder head gaskets, timing cover gaskets, and the drive belt. Additionally, at 78k miles, this Carrera was treated to other maintenance items including:
More recent service items include the installation of brand-new hoses and a valve adjustment. This Carrera is said to be in excellent running condition just waiting to be enjoyed by a new owner.
The sale will include three keys, factory books, service records, a stamped maintenance book, a clean Carfax, tools, air compressor, and a spare tire.

Just looking over the seal around the windshield...the lower part on the passenger side, near the nozzle, looks warped on a couple images. What’s your assessment? Lighting?

@al_ganda The service in 2016 was completed at 81,757 miles which is a touch over 1,000 miles ago. I will try to get video and have them posted before auction end. Thank you for your questions. Good luck bidding!

@2a_ron_ Please note that photos of the underbody were posted last night. Thanks for your patience.
@Daimler.doc I would be happy to keep the car onsite for as long as needed. Given the current circumstances, I am happy to accommodate.
@550bryan @55how long can you keep the car before it has to be claimed?
Beautiful color, and all the right specs, wish the original radio was in place. Questions about the paint are understandable. Was it a glass our repaint, were seals replaced, pictures of that would be helpful. GLWTS

@1973hp We tried to keep it original as possible so nothing new was used unless it was needed. Our main concern was that the paint matched the original as perfectly as possible and that goal was met.
@mcotml.com great. Thank you. I see the loaded docs. As to the paint refinish, what did that entail? New seals?
@1973hp Pictures of those records were submitted with the original photos of the car. I have requested that they be uploaded ASAP.
Can you please post records of work carried out in 2016 and the additional repairs at 78k? Thank you.
Very pretty car in a fantastic color!!!
@speedfreak31 I'd be happy to keep the car stored indoors where I have it now form up to a month if that helps. Hopefully you'll be able to enjoy that ride sooner, and what a ride that will be!
Hypothetical question, but how long could you hold the car before I needed to pick it up? I'd love to do a cross country trip in this post-coronavirus.
@2a_ron_ Thank you for the good questions. When I last ran the car it was quite cold outside so the air felt cold. However, when the car was checked for inspection and repairs were completed, the AC was working properly. No issues were indicated.
There is a crack in the lens of the driver fog light. It does function properly. I purcchased this car through a third party, not directly from the previous owner. I was told that this car has had two previous owners. That seems consistent with the Carfax history report.
There is no rust present at all. The body is in excellent shape as is the paint--no cracking. I will get some photos of the underbody in the next few days as weather allows.
Oh, and also rust or any paint cracks? Are there undercarriage photos?
Hi, I love the color combo of this 964. Does the a/c blow cold? And is there a crack on the foglight lense? How many owners? Thanks in advance
Gorgeous car.
@VertexAuto Thanks for the question. I do not have either of those items. Sorry.
Lovely color combo. Do you have the original air box and/or original radio?
