Produced solely for the 1991 model year, the Nissan Figaro was manufactured for the Japanese market. Based on the original supermini Nissan Micra, it features a 2+2 seating arrangement, a front-mounted engine, and a front-wheel-drive configuration. Finished in Lapis Grey with a white fixed-profile convertible top over ivory interior upholstery with blue accents, it is powered by a turbocharged 987cc inline-four engine mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission. This right-hand-drive city car is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas.
The Figaro debuted with a “Back to the Future” marketing tagline, featuring a retro-inspired design influenced by 1950s automobiles and Art Deco elements. This example is finished in Lapis Grey, one of four available colors. Notable retro exterior features include round headlights and taillights, chrome trim, a fixed-profile convertible body style, and wheels resembling whitewall tires. As a fixed-profile convertible, the upper side bodywork remains stationary while the fabric soft top retracts along with a solid panel featuring a defroster-equipped glass rear window. The seller notes a thorough detail and two-stage paint correction completed in October 2021, as well as a blemish on the front right bumper. Detailed images are included in the gallery.
Inside, occupants are greeted with ivory leather upholstery with blue seat piping, complemented by a blue dashboard cover and blue carpeting. Equipment includes a white steering wheel with a blue center cap, white-faced gauges, chrome accents, Bakelite-style knobs, a passenger-side glovebox, and light brown carpets. Minor cracks are noted on the driver’s seat leather, and all gauges and electronics are reported to be fully functional.
The Figaro is powered by a turbocharged 987cc MA10ET inline-four engine, delivering a factory-rated 76 HP and 78 lb.-ft of torque. The front wheels are driven through a 3-speed automatic transmission. Standard features include front MacPherson struts, rear four-link coil spring suspension, rack-and-pinion steering, and front ventilated disc brakes paired with rear drums. The seller notes the shock absorbers are worn, and an oil pan leak is present.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a spare tire, and a Japanese instruction manual for the convertible top operation.
The seller would like you to know: “The Figaro is not just a car; it is a piece of automotive history. With only 20,000 units produced during its two-year run, the Figaro is a rare and highly collectible classic. This charming example is ready for its next adventure.”

We are not a repair shop by any means, so we could be wrong. My intake inspector looked over the car and noticed a leak, then he watched a couple of YouTube videos on Figaro oil leaks and the best he could describe it was as an oil pan leak.
How did you deduce the oil pain is the culprit? Rarely ever is it the oil pan seal.
So few people know about them, but when they see them they have to check it out. Just today I was moving cars around and a young man stopped and asked if he could take some pictures of the Fig. Of course, take all the photos you want and share them young man.
i had one never should have sold it
