Up for auction is this 1991 Land Rover Defender 90 finished in silver and black over a black leather interior. This Defender was imported to the United States from the U.K. in 2018 after receiving a two and a half year restoration including a left-hand drive conversion, a repaint, a replacement V8 engine, transmission, transfer case, and wiring harness, a rebuild of the steering and braking systems, new seats, a Vintage Air air conditioning system, and much more. Showing under 500 miles driven since the restoration, this Defender is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.
This Land Rover underwent a body-off repaint in the current combination of silver with a black top, which included the replacement of the windshield, window glass, and door hinges. It features a Puma-style hood, a KBX front grille, LED headlamps and foglights, black running boards with silver chequer plate, black fender flares, black rubber mudflaps, sliding rear windows, a front and rear steel bumpers, and a swing-out rear door with a tire carrier. The 18” black-finished Sawtooth-style wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich All-Terrian T/A K02 tires.
The interior features Lucari bucket seats upholstered in black grained leather with white contrast stitching, new black carpeting, and a black Puma dashboard, with a matching Alcantara headliner. Amenities include a Vintage Air air conditioning and heating system, an aftermarket center console, a Pioneer head unit, a rearview camera, JBL speakers, a suede Sparco steering wheel, and a center-mounted analog clock.
The 4.0L Defender V8 was installed in 2020, along with a new radiator, hoses, water pump, starter, alternator, battery, and wiring harnesses. Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a ZF 4-speed automatic transmission and LT230 dual-range transfer case. During the restoration, the steering box has been rebuilt, the brake rotors, pads, and calipers have all been replaced, as well as the axle bearings, ball joints, steering stabilizer, and power steering system. The suspension has been fitted with replacement bushings, springs, and Pro-Comp shock absorbers.
This sale will include a clean title, extensive documentation of the restoration process, and a full-sized spare wheel and tire.
