Featuring a naturally aspirated V12 engine, this 1991 BMW 850i comes finished in Black over a matching leather interior and features Dinan modifications including engine and transmission performance chips, a big brake kit, 18” wheels, an exhaust, a 3.91:1 limited-slip differential, and Stage 1 suspension upgrade. It has also been modified with camber plates, a reinforced subframe, and extrude-honed intake manifolds. The car was previously owned by an avid BMW enthusiast and benefits from an extensively documented maintenance history. This E31 is now being offered for auction by its third owner out of New York while showing approximately 104k miles on the odometer.
The first-generation 8-Series (E31) was designed using CAD modeling and features a unique pillarless window design. This 1991 example is finished in Black and rides on upgraded 18”x9” Dinan wheels dressed in 265/35 Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires. The unused original spare wheel and tire are mounted in the trunk. Other equipment includes pop-up headlamps, integrated front fog lights, Dinan quad exhaust tips, M-branded front brake calipers, and a power-operated sunroof. The seller notes the front valence and spoiler have been replaced, the front bumper has been refinished, and a scratch is present on the front bumper cover as well as some minor swirls and surface scratches in the paint. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is upholstered in black leather with contrasting grey carpets and headliner. Accessories include a leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel, 850i branded floor mats, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, power-adjustable front seats, power windows and mirrors, an onboard computer, an anti-theft device, and an original cassette stereo. The seller notes a few cracks are present on the front seats and all gauges and accessories remain fully functional.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter M70B50 V12 engine which was rated at 296 HP and 332 lb.-ft of torque stock and is said to now produce 354 HP and 390 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 4-speed automatic transmission with an upgraded 3.91:1 limited-slip Dinan differential. The engine and transmission computers have also been upgraded with Dinan Eprom performance chips. Other upgrades include a Dinan free-flow exhaust system, extrude-honed intake manifolds, a Dinan big brake kit, and a Dinan Stage 1 suspension kit with Bilstein shocks and H&R springs. Few hours to go!
Few (driven) 850's in this condition exist and ever come up for sale with modifications like this, records like this, and NO expense spared! I searched high and low for this car for a long time . Luck was on my side.
I'd do it all over again if I had the chance.
Answered all PM's so far and I'm around for any questions.
I'm going to lift the reserve, someone is going to own this beaut!

@Avdo it sits on a collector car policy. But either way, we can work something out. PM me for car's location and all..
Is a local test drive possible?

PCAR community, wanted to add we found a second key fob. Hidden in the spare :)
A start-up, engine bay at idle, and a driving clip added!
A pre-list full diagnostic and service in June at Bergen Imports, about $4,000. Added 500 miles after. Car is dialed!
Bid with confidence! Top tier equipment, a lot of records, sparing no expense!
I'm here for any questions. Best of luck!
Also.. I contacted the previous owner. An elderly gentleman in Seattle that had it for almost 20 years. A collector of a rare mix of classic and modern cars. It was one of his favorites. Check out the records of his meticulous maintenance. A true enthusiast's example. Garage kept under both ownerships and if something showed wear, it was immediately replaced.
@Abe , a dream to own. Poster car for me when I was small. 850's are forever timeless!
@Harris1 wow!! This is stellar. Miles are not that high, at all! Modifications are perfect. I’m excited to see the numbers, bidding war loading?!!
@Joe-Iannacone at around 91,400 miles many modifications were made. Additional modifications were made since. Executed by renowned shops in Seattle and NJ. I'd estimate $80-90k in modifications and servicing in the last 13,000 or so miles. Car is sound!
@Harris1 I LOVE this. FINALLY a tastefully modified 850.. It’s fast af! Modifications like the exhaust heat-shielding and Dinan work, etc were last 15,000 miles?
