The second-generation BMW 3-Series, known as the E30, has developed a cult following with enthusiasts thanks to its classic design, performance, and simplicity. This 1991 Japanese-market 325i sedan is finished in Diamond Black Metallic over a grey cloth interior and was said to have been imported to the United States in 2016 and later acquired by the current owner in October of 2021. In preparation for sale, this example has received an oil service and a new timing belt, water pump, thermostat, and drive belts, in addition to a paint correction and ceramic coating. Showing approximately 79k kilometers (49k miles) on the odometer this 325i sedan is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.
This E30 is finished in Diamond Black Metallic (181) and is said to have recently received a professional detail and paint correction. Equipment includes foglights, chrome kidney grilles, window trim, projector headlights, and a dual-tip exhaust outlet. The genuine 15” BMW "euroweave" wheels are mounted with a set of new Kumho Ecsta 4X tires.
The interior is upholstered in gray cloth with matching door panels, carpeting, and a black center console and dashboard. Amenities include central locking, power windows, air conditioning, an analog clock, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an aftermarket Kenwood head unit with Bluetooth. The seller notes some discoloration on the passenger seating surface.
The E30 325i is powered by a 2.5L M20B25 inline six-cylinder engine, which was factory rated at 168 HP and 164 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven through a 4-speed automatic transmission with selectable settings for Sport, Economy, and low gears. In preparation for the sale, the seller reports the timing belt, water pump, thermostat, and drive belts have been replaced as well as an oil service. The original Japanese engine bay plaque identifies this example as a JDM model, in addition to Japanese inspection and maintenance stickers.
This sale will include Japanese owner’s manuals, a Japanese dealership maintenance book, and a clean Florida title. A mileage discrepancy is recorded on the CARFAX report in 2018 which the seller contests as a clerical error.

@ SAI: Huge enhancement perhaps...but original paint, regardless of condition, is better to a prospective buyer.
@acd76 Huge enhancement on appearance after.
@ Seller: Sorry auction did not work out. Very lovely E30 you have that will only go up in value.
@ Seller: Would rather have not had paint correction & coating; best left original. Lovely E30 regardless.
The 15" Euroweaves are brand new from BMW and the vehicle recently had a paint correction + ceramic coating.
I'm out. Good luck.

@SAI, thanks for taking the time and adding the pictures !
I have been trying my best to gather as much information about the legal requirements for importing this car in to the State of California as I can, but not getting any timely response from the state's Air resources bureau (CARB), so far !
Also the fact that all the crustal information on the Emission labels are written in Japanese, that might even be a bigger obstacle for me to convince them here in the State of California !
If things change (to my favor) quick enough before the auction's dead line tomorrow then 'll let you know, otherwise good luck with the sale,
Efariab
@SAI, Thanks for the reply !
@Efariab Will add the photos requested. The emissions on this vehicle are exactly the same as a US Spec 325i E30.

@ SAI, Sorry for accidently misspelling your user name(SAU) !
Best,
Efariab
@SAU,
I'm really interested in this car and will be getting it for my daughter (of course, only if we're lucky to win the auction with a win win price for both sides, at the conclusion of the auction) .
I was researching regarding entering a "Grey market car" (originally a Japanese car) with the knowledge of proven that this car has already been registered in the State of Florida, to be registered in the State of California .
It seems like they want to see the vin # sticker for Federalization and the Emission label to verify the required Emission equipments !
So, in order to save a lot of headaches, at least for me in California, would it be possible for you to post the pictures of the vin# sticker along with any other stickers and information on the driver's door jam and the emission label in the engine compartment (on the strut tower near the coolant expansion tank ) ???
Thanks

@SAI, Thanks for the quick reply to my concerns !
Since in you earlier comments you offered to help with shipping and quote on the shipping.
So, here's my zip code 94109 and would like to get a quote on shipping the car from where you are to San Francisco, California !
Thanks
@Efariab Hi and thanks for your interest! Love 318is'!
Yes It will pass inspection just like any other US spec E30. It is fitted with OEM catalytic converters from factory still and completely unmodified. It has a clean and clear Florida title that is simple to transfer over in any state.
@SAI
Nice and very clean E30 (Automatic) ! I have a '91 318iS manual( of course) that my younger daughter would have driven it if only it were Auto-Trans .
We live in California where the State has the toughest Emission (Smog) regulations, even when you enter a US market car from another State !
So, any Idea if this beauty will pass the 50 state Emission test ( I'm keeping my fibers crossed for a solid and informative answer) ??
Thanks in advance
Thank you for the intel. I will be sure to keep an eye on the bidding clock.
This E30 is a factory Slicktop with no sunroof which is rare for a 325i, as it was optional for 1991 318i/is model's. All 325i coupe/sedan model's in the USA had a sunroofs.
@louispereznyc Afternoon, it has exactly the same parts as a US spec E30 =)
