The final generation of Alfa Romeo’s iconic two-seater sports car, the Series 4 Spider was launched for North America in 1991 with refreshed styling, an electric cooling fan, power steering, onboard diagnostics, and Bosch Motronic electronic fuel injection. The premium Veloce model also included leather seats, 15” wheels, and air conditioning as standard equipment. This 1991 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce is finished in Bianco Freddo over a black and red interior and features a 5-speed manual transmission, upgraded Borbet wheels, a three-spoke Volanti Luisi steering wheel, and a rebuilt drivetrain. This Alfa Romeo was first registered in Missouri and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Canada.
The Pininfarina-designed bodywork of the Alfa Romeo Spider was revised for the Series 4 version in 1990 featuring new body-colored bumpers and full-width taillights. This 1991 Spider Veloce is finished in Bianco Freddo (230) and equipped with a retractable black convertible top, chrome door handles and headlight rings, Pininfarina side badges, a polished windscreen frame, and aftermarket 15” Borbet wheels dressed in BF Goodrich g-Force Sport tires. The seller notes the car was refinished in its factory color during a refurbishment in 1991 and the paint remains in good overall condition. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing damage to the left front end in 1995 and right front end in 1996.
The black interior features red leather seats with matching door panel inserts along with an aftermarket wood-rimmed Volanti Luisi three-spoke steering wheel. Other accessories include a wooden gear knob with an Alfa Romeo badge, a quartz clock, air conditioning, onboard diagnostic lights, power windows, a rear parcel shelf, and an aftermarket Pioneer stereo. The seller reports all gauges and accessories to be fully functional, although the handbrake is loose and the driver’s side seatbelt is locked in position. The CARFAX report shows a mileage discrepancy and the true mileage is unknown.
The 2.0-liter inline-four engine features Bosch Motronic electronic fuel injection and an output of up to 120 HP and 117 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed manual transmission. This Series 4 Spider came equipped as standard with power steering and four-wheel disc brakes. The seller states the engine and transmission were rebuilt in 2004 and there are no outstanding service items at this time.
This sale will include some documentation and a clean title.
