Considered one of the most technologically advanced sports cars of its era, the original Acura NSX was engineered at Honda’s Global Research and Development Center in Tochigi, Japan, and marked a turning point for everyday usability in exotic car design. This 1991 Acura NSX Coupe is powered by a 3.0-liter DOHC V6 featuring VTEC variable valve timing paired with a desirable 5-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Finished in Berlina Black over black leather, it comes equipped with iconic pop-up headlights, staggered-diameter 15″ and 16″ forged wheels, power-adjustable seats, automatic climate control, a Bose sound system, and more. Showing under 66k miles on the odometer, this meticulously maintained NSX is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida. Click here to view the previous PCARMARKET listing.
The NSX Coupe features an innovative all-aluminum monocoque chassis and body construction, a pioneering achievement for a production vehicle of its era. This 1991 example is finished in Berlina Black and features pop-up headlights, integrated side air intakes, a rear spoiler, power-adjustable mirrors, and dual exhaust outlets. It rides on staggered 15” front and 16” rear five-spoke forged wheels wrapped in Dunlop Direzza DZ102 tires. Detailed images, including paint meter readings, are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report noting minor front-end damage in June 2022. The seller notes the front bumper was repainted without replacement under prior ownership.
The interior features power-adjustable sport seats upholstered in black leather, complemented by a matching dashboard, door panels, and NSX-branded carpeting. Amenities include automatic climate control, cruise control, power door mirrors, rear and side window defoggers, a theft-deterrent system, and a factory stereo system with a cassette and a six-disc CD player. All gauges and electronics are reported to be in proper working order.
Power comes from a mid-mounted 3.0-liter DOHC V6 engine, generating a factory-rated 270 HP and 210 lb-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The NSX utilizes an all-aluminum monocoque chassis with aluminum suspension components for reduced weight and improved balance. Steering is handled by a variable-ratio manual rack-and-pinion system, while braking is facilitated by four-wheel ventilated disc brakes with a four-channel ABS system. The suspension features an all-aluminum double-wishbone design with alloy control arms and hub carriers at all four corners. The seller notes that a timing belt service was performed in 2023, and the air conditioning system was serviced in preparation for sale.
This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a spare tire, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “1991 Acura NSX – Black on Black – 5-speed manual - Immaculate Condition. Here’s a rare opportunity to own one of the most iconic Japanese sports cars ever made. This 1991 Acura NSX comes finished in timeless black over black, and it's in absolutely pristine condition—a true collector-quality example that’s been clearly loved and well taken care of.”

@jackal0506 Hello, what you’re seeing on the front bumper is just a light effect in the photos, not burn marks from waxing. The paint itself presents very well.
We are not aware of any other areas on the car with such appearance.
Regarding paint work, we don’t have any records indicating prior work

It looks like there are "burn marks" from waxing the front bumper in the photos. Is that true or just a lighting issue.
And if it is true , are there any other location on the car where this occurred .
On that vein do you have paint meter readings and are you aware of any paint work? Thank you

Does anyone know what this was bid up to previously when the reserve was not met?
@Snuvet75 We don’t have readings at the moment, but we’re working on getting them and will share as soon as they’re available.
@Snuvet75 We don’t have a physical record of the timing belt service on hand, but it is reported on the Carfax as completed by Baierl Acura in Wexford, PA, in December 2023. A copy of the Carfax report is accessible here at the auction page.
@Jump_Ace The transmission number is J4A4-1001645, which is outside the documented snap ring failure range of J4A4-1003542 through J4A4-1005978.
I’m glad to confirm this transmission is not subject to the known snap ring issue.
@Snuvet75 We don’t have undercarriage photos at the moment, but we’re working on getting them and will share as soon as they’re available.

And not that it matters much but you stated there is meter reading of the paint in the gallery but I don't think I'm seeing it.
can you also show us the record of timing belt service?
Ah okay, sorry I must have missed that detail, thanks @Snuvet75
@Jump_Ace I thought he said the trans is not in snap ring range in previous listing.
Is there still a reserve on this beaut? And has the snap ring issue been fixed with service records?
Can you share some undercarriage pictures?
@jazzyg72 Hello, the only reason it’s being offered again is that it didn’t sell during the previous listing. There were no issues or changes with the car itself — it simply didn’t meet reserve last time.
Welcome to the auction! We’re excited to have you here. We take pride in offering carefully selected vehicles, presented with transparency and plenty of detail so you can bid with confidence.
Take your time exploring, ask any questions you may have, and happy bidding!
