Available for auction is this 1990 Volkswagen T3 Vanagon Carat Weekender van finished in Pastel White over a grey cloth interior. Introduced in 1990, the T3 was the latest iteration of the Volkswagen van and was the first to employ an engine with a water-cooled design. The Carat trim package includes exterior body cladding and alloy wheels as well as a camping-oriented interior with removable second-row seats, a pop-up table, and a third-row bench seat that can be transformed into a bed. A host of service items are said to have been completed recently including a rebuilt and engine transmission, new tires, and full respray of the exterior. This increasingly collectible VW Vanagon is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Utah.
This Vanagon comes finished in Pastel White with black lower body cladding and bumpers. The seller notes the exterior has been recently refinished, additional photos can be found in the gallery along with a CARFAX report. Factory features include body-colored power-operated mirrors and 15″ alloy wheels which are currently dressed in a set of General Altimax tires.
The cabin comes trimmed in grey velour upholstery with factory air conditioning, central locking, and cruise control. As a Carat model, this seven-passenger van features rear-facing jump seats as well as a folding third-row bench which can be converted into a bed for overnight trips. The seller confirms that all gauges, lights, and accessories remain fully functional. The CARFAX shows a mileage discrepancy in 2019 and the vehicle's true mileage remains unknown.
Power comes from a water-cooled 2.1L flat-four engine factory rated at 90 HP and 117 lb-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a four-speed manual transmission. Additional features include rack and pinion steering, power-assisted brakes, and front and rear independent suspension. The engine and transmission are said to have been recently rebuilt and the fuel lines have been flushed. The seller notes that the remainder of a warranty from VW Uplifters of Utah may be transferred to the next owner.
This sale will include a clean CARFAX.

No worries, sorry I have been absent from the listing and all holidays and such. but yes the engine is rebuilt and has a wonderful transmission added to it. if you have any other questions I will keep looking at it today. Let's get it to the reserve price!!!
@9146max Hello. We just want to verify that you noticed the true mileage unknown (TMU) disclaimer in the gray information box along with the supplied carfax showing the progression of mileage over the years along with any other carfax notes. As you mentioned, this information is provided to ensure a transparent and accurate listing. Thank you for your comment.
A new video has been added to the listing page.
If you look at the CARFAX this VW likely has 300k plus miles. I’d like to see vehicle write ups more transparent and accurate.
Sorry, did not scroll through all of the pictures. The chassis likely has 350k miles on it.
Listing says mileage discrepancy on carfax and also includes a clean carfax. Can you share the carfax to see what the discrepancy is?

This is not a T4. It is aT3 Vanagon. T4s were Eurovans.
