Available for auction at no reserve is this 1990 Porsche 944 S2 Cabriolet finished in Alpine White over a black leather interior. The final evolution of Porsche's iconic transaxle sports car, the 944 S2 debuted with a larger 3.0-liter engine and Turbo-style bodywork. One of less than 3k examples believed to have been delivered to the United States, this 1990 S4 Cabriolet has been stored indoors and cared for by its seller for the past 3 years and is now being offered for auction out of Idaho with approximately 143k miles on the odometer.
This example comes finished in Alpine White with optional protective side moldings and a black convertible top. The 944 S2 shared its bodywork with the Turbo model including a diffuser below the rear bumper as well as a more rounded aerodynamic nose with a front spoiler, integrated fog lights, and an air intake between the indicators. The factory D90 wheels come dressed in BF Goodrich tires, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
This 944 sports a black leather interior with power-operated Sport Seats in front and a 2+2 rear seating arrangement. Some minor signs of wear are noted and the center console lid hinge needs to be repaired. The seller notes that the airbag and check engine lights are present, although an OBD1 scanner shows there are no errors. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are said to be working properly.
The S2 is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.0-liter inline 4-cylinder engine rated at 208 HP and 207 lb.-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. The seller states that recent maintenance items include a new fuel pump, starter, valve cover grommets, valve cover gasket, and spark plugs and seals along with rewelding of the exhaust.
This sale will include a clean title and a toolkit.
