Up for auction is this 1990 Porsche 944 S2 finished in Crystal Silver Metallic over a Black leather interior. The S2 marks the final evolution of the 944 series and is known for its larger 3.0 L engine and styling cues drawn from the Turbo model. This particularly clean example is reported to be in excellent mechanical order and is now being offered for auction by its seller in Canada with approximately 59k miles (96k Kilometers) showing on the odometer.
The factory specified Crystal Silver Metallic finish is reported to be in excellent condition with only minor signs of wear present (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). The 944 S2 shares the styling of the Turbo model with its aero front fascia and painted lower rear valence. This example rides on 16” alloy "manhole cover" wheels that come dressed in older Goodyear Eagle tires.
Inside, the black leather interior presents in excellent condition with all electronics and accessories working properly. This well sorted example highlights an original Blaupunkt radio and equalizer as well as factory air conditioning, power windows, power mirrors and a sunroof. OEM replacement speakers are included in the sale due to some distortion in the current factory setup.
This 944 carries a 3.0 L inline 4-cylinder engine which develops 208 HP stock. Power is transferred to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. Included service records show that this 944 has been properly maintained throughout the years with a water pump and timing belt replacement carried out in 2009. A standard service was performed last year and this 944 is said to be in excellent running order. The seller also notes that an upgraded K&N air filter is currently installed.
Included in the sale of this 944 S2 are two keys and a collection of service records. 944 S2’s are becoming increasingly sought after, do not miss your chance to own this beautiful 1990 example.

Any video of it running, driving?
@pits928s The car has been inspected multiple times with no indication whatsoever that that has ever been an issue as there is no mention in any of the inspections or service reports. I'd say that observation is not accurate.
Wow what a beautiful color! Interested but noticed that the coolant expansion tank looks like it is stained with oil, which results from mixing of oil in the coolant. While this can be a symptom of a significant problem, most likely it was the result of leaks in the oil cooler heat exchanger, which is a relatively easy fix. Can you comment on whether this issue has been resolved? Thank you.
@Blau_RS2 That's a really good advert they did at that time and the car has been driven nominally since then.
There's some good information about this car from when it sold on BaT in 2018.

@Nthuzst -no problem and best of luck with the sale!
@Duaneh_03 I am not going to try and hunt down the owner from 22 years ago. The sheet says it is a collision report and does not even have a claim amount, so it seems to confirm the cosmetic respray that I have disclosed. I know nothing more and will respectfully leave it at that.
@Nthuzst - I suppose the owner at that time would know or The CarProof Claims BC could offer more info.
@Duaneh_03 Would you offer any advice on how one would go about investigating an incident from '98? I am not sure how any further information could be obtained. Tks
I see on the CarProof claims BC reports a collision on 06/09/1998, perhaps the reason for the overspray mentioned from a previous owner. Can someone please investigate the extent of the collision/repairs done before I bid?
@911or968 I am the 4th owner (dealership included). I was informed by the previous owner that the bottom left rear diffuser was repainted (see photo and there is evidence of overspray on the rubber spacer) in conjunction with a claim. I have no further information or knowledge. The paint and condition are excellent from every angle.
Nice S2, how many owners? Also, do you have any info on the collision and glass work as shown on pic #50? Thanks.
Bid in the amount of $10,000
Regarding the options list, there should be a paper with option codes either in warranty booklet or underneath rear storage compartment. Otherwise, use vinanalytics.com with VIN code and the options are listed.
@Nein97 The rear hatch works well and the gas struts are strong to hold the hatch up. I have never used the rear wiper but will confirm that wiper functionality for you tomorrow (Sept 30)
Thanks for your question and let me know if there is anything else that I can help with.
@Skindoc Thanks for your question. I am not sure what options were offered originally, but it has power seats, heated seats, power mirrors. If there is anything else specifically that you would like to know, please feed free to ask.
Thanks
Could the seller please post the option equipment list? Pretty color, GLWA
Does the rear wiper work and what about the rear window lifts?
