A one-of-a-kind restoration by Abreu Motors, this 1990 Porsche 964 Carrera 4 has been completely redone with backdated F-Body styling, widened metal fenders, and a custom vintage-style saddle leather interior. It rides on an upgraded Bilstein suspension and features 911 Turbo “Big Red” brakes as well as a custom center-exit dual exhaust system. The car was completed after nearly two years of work and is now being offered for auction by its builder in Florida with approximately 500 miles driven since the restoration.
The body of this 964 was completely dissembled and modified with widened steel fenders and a backdated long-hood nose section. Other additions include factory 964 aero mirrors, Rennline projector headlights, custom composite bumpers, and a modified carbon fiber rear spoiler with a chrome engine grille. The original owner selected Sonic Grey for the exterior color, accented by matte black stripe decals, molding, and trim pieces. The car rides on a set of 17” Braid Fuchs wheels which are manufactured specifically for Abreu Motors and dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
The cabin is custom-tailored with rich Footpath saddle leather and tan German square weave carpeting. It comes fitted with a pair of 996 GT3 Cup-style sport bucket seats trimmed in matching perforated leather with decorative silver grommets. Other details include RS-style door panels with leather pull straps, black leather floor mats with decorative stitching, a three-spoke MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, drilled aluminum floorboards, a custom tachometer dial, silver gauge bezels, and a handmade Mahogany wood shift knob that was created to match the interior at a cost of $2k. The car retains its A/C system and features a retro-style Bluetooth radio.
The car’s air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine was rebuilt to factory specifications as part of the restoration by Abreu Motors. Power is sent to all four wheels through a 5-speed G50 manual gearbox. A custom center-exit exhaust system has been installed along with a Rennline catalytic converter delete pipe, and a K&N air filter as well as a new clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel. The suspension has been overhauled with new control arms, bushings, and Bilstein coilovers. Stopping power has also been improved with upgraded 911 Turbo “Big Red” front Brembo brakes.
This sale will include a clean title and a binder of photos documenting the restoration process.

Now I think I understand. At 260 it was reserve not met but that ending high bid gives the bidder the chance to work out a deal and increase their bid to meet the reserve which then gets PCAR their auction fee.
Sold for $280,000
Bid in the amount of $280,000
I was wondering the same thing!
Did it meet the reserve? I don’t understand why the site doesn’t indicate if it sold when the bidding ends.
Congrats Ace!!! Well done

@emerge949 Thank you my friend !!
@Prasad1 Can’t say enough my friend. Thank you.
@Prasad1 ...I totally agree with your comments on Fabie. I was the lucky recipient of the first one, we called 001, in dark gray. Awesome vehicle, and we collaborated openly and comprehensively on upgrades and any tweaks along the way. Fabie was a real pleasure to deal with and his knowledge in these kinds of restorations was impressive.
I am a proud owner of Abreu Motors' Oak Green Metallic 911. I talked to Fabie extensively while bidding. IMO his cars hit the sweet spot of being restorations that aren't museum collector cars, which means they can be DRIVEN!
The fact that you can call/text him anytime is an added bonus.
Good Luck and Happy Bidding!

@911_964_C2 The metal flares are similar to The 1970’s ST cars. I would consider a 964 as a partial trade. Please DM the information on the car.
@Bbaravarian Please DM.
@AbreuMotors how much would it cost if I waited.
Are the widened fenders as noted in the listing similar to those in the 964 wide body examples?
Also, would you consider any 964 trades as a part of the final sale?
Thanks in advance. Beautiful vehicle. GLWS!
@Bbaravarian I will make the proper adjustments for California without any additional cost. The engine upgrades can’t be performed for another 5 months as I have deadlines to finish.
@JeffC15550 Thank you for visiting us today. It was a pleasure meeting you.
What’s additional cost to make California legal and ask a 3.9 engine upgrade please.
I visited his shop today. The car looks even better live. The engine sound is excellent. I am considering reserving a spot on his Super Sport Project list
Bid in the amount of $167,500
@AbreuMotors I just posted another photo of a 3.9 engine, with a view from undercarriage

@Gofaster photo posted. Please DM for pricing.

@AbreuMotors What would additional cost be and do you have any pics of that engine installed in a car?
Note: The engine can be upgraded to our new 3.9 liter specs for an additional cost.
Bore size 103mm
Stroke 76.4mm
RSR pistons 11.5 C/R
Barrels are from Capricorn in the UK. Connecting rods as well . 380 Hp approx ….
@Gofaster The wheels were properly stripped and painted with 55 line glasurit . Satin finish with 929-55 satin clear.
@Gofaster New glass , however we re-used the quarter windows, they are still in perfect shape.
Does car have all new glass, if not are there any scratches in the any of it?
How were the wheels refinished? What type of coatings were applied? Does the car have any leaks and how many miles has it been driven since build has been completed?

@Gofaster I have a $30k Cold Jet Dry Ice Blasting Machine that I use to blast all the undercarriage grim, dirt, old coating/paint, etc for all builds. I don’t have any photos of this car’s undercarriage when it was done, however I have many videos of the process, which we do for all vehicles.
The product you see that was applied to the undercarriage is SemXT Bedliner, which is twice as thick as regular undercoat.
The thicker the undercarriage protective coating is, the more protection it will offer the car.
@AbreuMotors Was the car underside stripped to bare metal prior to restoring it? If so, please post the photos. All the photos I see of the underside appear to have a black coating sprayed on it.
Thanks!

I don’t know anything about this particular car, but I’ve been to the 911BackDate shop which I believe is affiliated w the seller and seen some of the cars in production. The work I’d seen appeared to be done to a high spec with great attention to detail. Again, I don’t know anything about this particular car but if it were built in the 911BackDate shop, the value is easily well above the current bid.

@Gofaster Yes, I have a book with 100 pages with more detail photos. I just posted 15 additional photos or so.
Bid in the amount of $160,000
Do you have pics of underside prior to paint? Trying to document the level of detail undercarriage and body was prepared. Thanks!

@domer911 I only have another non-bucket option. I will post a photo in the gallery.
@domer911 New cables and rails. The motor is still working properly.
Bid in the amount of $155,000
Also, did the restoration include new sunroof motor, cables, and rails?
@AbreuMotors Could you please go into more detail about further seat options? I love the look but am interested to know if there are non-bucket options. Thanks. Beautiful car!
@sportscarguy3 Thank you.
@sportscarguy3 Thanks for the kind comments.

Just finding this very cool back dated Porsche.
I don’t know about you all, however this is a dream air cooled 911 for me
What a handsome Porsche. with really understated but very cool custom modifications both interior and exterior
Also the look and sound of this 3.6 air cooled Porsche motor is almost as good as a singer or a Gunther works in my opinion, for a lot less money
Unfortunately, I would have to sell my new 2003 Porsche 996 TwinTurbo to bid or purchase this special air cooled backdated Porsche.
And given the current bid, with four or five days still to go, the final selling price would probably be past my budget.
However in a perfect win the lottery world this would be a Porsche I’d want to look at in my garage every day
Good luck all from Santa Rosa California
@ricm In addition, I do have a factory Cat available to send it with the car in case it goes to California.
@ricm The exhaust system was set up so that one could place the factory Cat back in the car if necessary. However it should pass California smog as is.
Will this pass Calif emissions?

@deezPcar Correct. Yes they slide and accommodate a passenger of medium size.
First and foremost, once again you have backdated a gem! This one is out of my wheelhouse as I love my 997.
I think the photographer has done an exceptional pictorial representation of your work. You all have left nothing to be pondered over…..WELL DONE!
Good luck and may the best person enjoy this Porsche. I hope to see it in person somewhere.
With the front seats being buckets, do they just slide forward as far as possible for potential rear passengers to tightly slide in?
@AbreuMotors Thank you very much.
@jdm Thank you. ???
Pure artwork.

I just sent a little video to PCar.
@AbreuMotors Correction : From Catalytic bypass pre muffler ..
@DAC1000 Factory numbers are about 250hp torque 310 Nm … The car has an FVD performance chip plus a rennline Cat bypass pre muffler ..
The chip can add approx 25hp plus another 12hp from car plus our exhaust. I would say around 287hp at the moment. The car also lost approx 200 pounds with the build process.
Any HP and torque numbers?
