Introduced in 1989, the Porsche 964 launched the 911 model into modernity with improved aerodynamic bodywork, revised suspension, power steering, anti-lock brakes, dual airbags, and the introduction of an all-wheel-drive Carrera 4 model. This 1990 Porsche 964 Carrera 4 Cabriolet is finished in Guards Red over a Cashmere Beige and Black partial leather interior. It features a 5-speed G50 manual transmission paired with its 3.6-liter flat-six engine, optional heated 8-way power seats, headlamp washers, automatic climate control, cruise control, and 17” Cup Design wheels. Purchased by the seller in 2007 and driven approximately 1,500 miles per year since, this 964 is now being offered for auction out of Vermont with approximately 112k miles showing on the odometer.

The exterior is finished in Guards Red with a power-operated black convertible top and a matching tonneau cover. Accessories include an optional intensified windscreen washer system, headlamp washers, integrated fog lights, power mirrors, a speed-activated rear spoiler, a periscope-style third brake light, and silver 17” Cup Design wheels with colored Porsche crest center caps. The seller states the car has been garage-kept throughout their ownership and was never driven in the rain or winter. An area of missing clear coat is noted on the passenger side. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The Cashmere Beige and Black partial leather interior includes optional heated 8-way power adjustable front seats, a four-spoke leather steering wheel, a central locking system, automatic climate control, cruise control, a differential locker switch, and an aftermarket Pioneer head unit. Some signs of wear are noted on the seats, and all gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional.

Factory-rated at 247 HP and 228 lb-ft of torque, the air-cooled 3.6-liter M64 flat-six engine is paired with a 5-speed G50 manual transaxle and an all-wheel-drive system with a computer-controlled limited-slip differential. Standard equipment includes power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering and four-wheel ventilated disc brakes with ABS. The seller indicates routine maintenance has been kept up to date throughout their ownership.

This sale will include a spare tire, a tire inflator, a car cover, a battery trickle charger, and a Vermont registration certificate.

The seller would like you to know: “My wife and I have enjoyed this car, now we are in our 70s, and it's time for someone else to enjoy. It runs perfectly and is fun to drive.”

  • Francy (seller) 2 months, 1 weekago

@95760CT never winter driven or in the rain it one spot on bottom of windshield size of a dime

  • 95760CT (registered bidder) 2 months, 1 weekago

Looks like you have enjoyed using and taken care of a nice car.

Quick question - the 964s sometimes get some rust around / at the base of the windshield or on the body panel that the windshield wipers are mounted to.

Any perspective on rust spots or anything like that? Being Vermont registered, I am guessing it was more of a summer car.

    Thank You.

    1. Pictures 4, 5, and 6 – The rear driver’s side wheel looks like it might have some damage, while the others appear to be in good condition. Do you know how that happened?

    2. Pictures 6, 7, 16, and 31 – It looks like there might be a scrape or crack along the driver’s side seam of the rear bumper cover. Any background on that?

    3. Pictures 6, 16, 31, and 33 – The lower edge of the deck lid appears to have a slight dent or crease, there any paint cracking on the backside of that dent?

    4. Pictures 8, 9, 19, 20, 21, 24, 27, and 37 – The passenger door looks slightly misaligned at the lower edge, and the lower rear quarter panel might have a dent. Do you know if it’s a dent, misalignment, or both?

    5. Pictures 14 and 15 – The soft top piping/seam shows some wear or damage. Does the top leak at all?

    6. Picture 22 – The windshield gasket on the passenger side is wrinkled. Is there any rust there or anywhere else around the gasket?

    A few additional questions:
    7. Could you upload more photos of the engine bay? Only two are currently shown.

    8. In the frunk carpet, would you mind pulling back both front corners so we can see underneath?

    9. Do you still have the original radio?

    10. Which area on the passenger side is missing clear coat?

    11. Lastly, does the car leak any fluids or leave wet spots in the garage?

  • Stanlution (registered bidder) 2 months, 1 weekago

@Francy Beautiful car—thanks so much for listing it. I hope my questions don’t come off the wrong way or feel overly critical. With higher-quality or more detailed photos, many questions tend to answer themselves.

  • Francy (seller) 2 months, 1 weekago

I do have records from the previous owner
I just wasn’t very good about that

  • Stanlution (registered bidder) 2 months, 2 weeksago

@Francy Thanks for getting back to me! Just to clarify—when you say “no records from before or now,” do you mean there aren’t any service/maintenance history records at all?

  • Francy (seller) 2 months, 2 weeksago

@Stanlution I am not home till Monday afternoon no records from before or now

Do you have records of all service and maintenance performed during your ownership, as well as from the original owner? Also, could you provide a quick list of major items that have been done?

If possible, would you mind taking a few more photos of the underside? One trick that works well is setting your phone on a broomstick with a timer and wide-angle lens, then placing it flat on the ground—it usually gives a great view underneath.
