Equipped with a 5-speed G50 manual transaxle and a 3.6-liter flat-six engine, this 1990 Porsche 964 Carrera 4 Coupe is the subject of an X83-style Slant Nose bodywork conversion including vented front fenders, boxed rocker panels, and wide rear fenders with side air intakes. The car is finished in metallic silver paint over blue leather upholstery and comes equipped with a computer-controlled limited-slip differential, 17” Cup-style wheels, heated power seats, cruise control, and an electric sunroof. The body conversion was performed before the seller’s purchase in 2017 and the car benefits from recent service including new spark plugs, fuel injector hoses, front CV boots, a brake fluid flush, and a rebuilt alternator. Showing approximately 89k miles on the odometer, this 964 is now being offered for auction out of Nevada.
This 964 was modified with Slant Nose bodywork in the 1990s styled after the Japanese-market Turbo 3.6 S X83 package. It includes vented front fenders with pop-up headlights, boxed rocker panels, and wide rear fenders with 930-style side air intakes. The car has been refinished in metallic silver paint and equipped with heated and power-adjustable aero mirrors, a Euro-spec rear bumper, and 17” Cup-style wheels. Other equipment includes integrated fog lights, an electric sunroof, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and wheel caps with colored Porshe crests. The car rides on Falken Pro GS Sport A/S tires dated from 2018 and 2019. The CARFAX report shows minor damage to the front right and rear sides of the car in 2020.
The cabin features blue leather upholstery with matching carpets and heated power-adjustable front seats. Accessories include a four-spoke leather steering wheel, power windows, a central locking system, air conditioning, cruise control, an Alpine AM/FM/CD stereo, and JL Audio speakers. The seller notes the sunroof cables were replaced in August 2023 and the passenger seat motors were replaced in August 2024 along with speedometer repairs. The air conditioning system is currently inoperable.
Rated at 247 HP and 228 lb.-ft of torque, the air-cooled 3.6-liter M64 flat-six engine delivers power to all four wheels through a 5-speed G50 manual transaxle and a computer-controlled limited-slip differential. The clutch was replaced in 2020 and service in August 2024 included a new breather plate gasket, cooling fan hub, air intake seal ring, spark plugs, filters, five new fuel injector hoses, front CV joint boots, a rebuilt alternator, and a brake fluid flush.
This sale will include service records and a clean title.

I put up a few new pictures of the car in the wild for your viewing pleasure.
@BANANA Car drives perfectly and starts every time. No rattles or issues. The A/C has a leak at the condenser.
@Autotrend It's an aftermarket kit.
It's very obvious for people in the know from the shape of the headlights, and rear vents. But who cares really most people these days don't even know what a slantnose is.
It is what it is. A modified Porsche for people who don't care about originality. I'm one of those. At the right price I'm in.
on the headlight motors it is simple to know. the factory porsche parts use one motor in the center to operate both headlights. the aftermarket parts use two motors located on each side. the are most commonly mazda rx7 units.
Does the car drive straight? stops straight? starts first time every time? No rattles or knocks from the suspension?
The engine sounds good?
What's wrong with the aircon? it is a must where this car will end up if I buy

Kind of an interesting Porsche for sure
However, as mentioned by some of the interested parties and bidders, a few uncertainties, as well as Carfax listed damage is never a good combination for an auction sale
The front end wheels / fender height just really looks odd to me for some reason I understand ride height can be manipulated but the front just looks so much different from the rear as far as spacing goes
I to remember seeing this Porsche on bring a trailer
Relatively confident the results would be similar
However, certainly wish the seller. Good luck.

Good morning everyone, looking forward to the conclusion of this auction. I know the right person is out there that wants a special and unique car for themselves. Happy bidding.
I think the challenge with this car is there are so many unknown costs to get it up to par (the A/C being a big one based on personal prior experiences with cars that had A/C issues) Each of the other things it needs by themselves may not be a ton but when combined certainly are noteworthy. That paired with the lack of records for the car and the dirty carfax history seem to justify where this car has been bid to recently. It’s undeniable that this car will be a project that someone will assume a fair degree of risk when purchasing so I feel as though the recent price it achieved is in line with market value.
With this auction coming to an end tomorrow I must say the current bid is about half of what most really nice 964’s with under 100k miles are trading for. If you are looking for a stock looking car there are plenty to choose from. If you want a back dated car you will need another $100k. But if you want a wide body slantnose it would take about $30k to reproduce this car from a stock car not to mention the months you would have to wait to get the work done. This is an opportunity to get a car that always gets a lot of attention and praise. If you like the look of this car I urge you to bid strong so you can be the new owner of this beautiful car. Good luck everyone!
@C3 I just uploaded some pictures that you requested. I see what you were referring to but never noticed it before. The rest of the interior is in such good shape.

Can we get more pictures of the headliner and the sunroof liner? In one of the videos it looked like there was some delamination of the sunroof liner and on the passenger sun visor. Thanks.
@Autotrend It is not easy to access the headlight motors to photograph, please contact Ramon at 900 Series Motorsport who have been doing all maintenance for over the last decade for confirmation on the assembly in this car.

@Autotrend I’ll work on getting you a picture.
can you supply to us photos of the headlight motor/motors location in the front? this will conclusively tell if porsche or mazda parts were used

@Michaelscheid25 I loaded a group of pictures for you and anyone else interested in seeing a magnet stuck around the body. Hopefully they will appear in the photo section soon.
Wow, the new Singer 935 costs seven figures and the RWB slant nose is in the six figures, this 964 has some potential for a creative (imaginative) buyer. If I didn’t just purchase a new home, I would aggressively bid on this 911. The new Speedline wheels, lower the ride height. The fixed wing and Fister exhaust are nice. I can only imagine right now but Magnus Walker would probably give this a thumbs up! I can only admire this 964 right now but wish the future owner all the best!
The wheels and tires and ride height are really throwing me off. I guess an easy fix poss some turbo 3.6 replicas would work better and the correct profile tires Euro ride height and boom this could transform the look.
Bid in the amount of $40,000
Saw this on BaT…very surprised it didn’t sell. $57k seemed like top of the market for this car. Given the lack of history and the very niche appeal of the conversion I think the upside is limited as was evident by the results thus far.
$57K RNM on BAT; sold for $34K in 2013 at Mecum. Should have taken the $57K. A 964 turbo tail and the right size rubber will go a long way.
@Michaelscheid25 I don’t have a magnet at the moment but the parts are definitely all steel. I’ll try and get ahold of one and take a picture for you.
can you put a small magnet on the new fenders to confirm they are metal?
Thanks
@M4911986 Thank you,
@shy We don’t have any records for the conversion but we believe it was done with OEM steel parts being everything fit perfectly and it has Porsche headlights not Mazda RX7 units commonly used on fiberglass kits.
@M4911986 Is the body panels OE or aftermarket and do you have any pre photos of body work.
Good morning pcarmarket community. I am representing a good friend in the sale of his 1990 964 all steel slant nose wide body conversion. This car is in near perfect condition inside and out and has been loving cared for and maintained. I will be available throughout the auction to answer any questions or concerns. The conversation was done right in the 90’s and has held up beautifully. Thank you for considering this amazing 964.
