Originally distributed by Mizwa Porsche of Japan, this 1990 Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Coupe came factory-finished in the exceedingly rare color of Murano Green along with a desirable sunroof delete and 5-speed G50 manual gearbox. The car was subject to a custom RSR-style restoration by a previous owner in Japan including backdated bodywork, widened fenders, a ducktail spoiler, new coilovers, and an RS-inspired interior with Recaro bucket seats. The engine has also been paired with a custom exhaust, a lightweight flywheel, a performance chip, and a limited-slip differential. An air-cooled Porsche enthusiast’s dream, this one-of-a-kind 964 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida showing approximately 70k kilometers or 43k miles on the odometer.

During the restoration, this Carrera 2 received a backdated long-hood nose section along with widened fenders, rocker panels, RSR-style bumpers, and a ducktail rear spoiler. The car was refinished in its original color of Murano Green (22C) and features custom aero mirrors, hood straps, RS-style rear lettering, a polished custom dual-exit muffler, and a set of 3-piece Work Brombacher wheels with freshly polished lips and Bridgestone RE71 tires. The seller describes the paint to remain in excellent overall condition apart from some minor rock chips on the rear fenders and front bumper.

The black interior has been fitted with a pair of two-tone Recaro SR3 bucket seats, red seatbelts, a Sabelt safety harness, RS-style door panels, and a 3-spoke MOMO steering wheel. An aftermarket stereo is equipped and paired with additional speakers on the dashboard. The rear seats have been removed and the seller notes the A/C and power window remain fully functional.

Power comes from an air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine rated at 247 HP stock. The rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed G50 manual gearbox and a limited slip differential. Performance upgrades installed under previous ownership are said to include a custom exhaust with headers, an engine performance chip, a lightweight flywheel, and Aragosta adjustable coilover suspension. The seller notes minor oil seepage as commonly seen on air-cooled vehicles.

This sale will include a clean Florida title and a record of recent service.

@911Deany One of the most unique 911s we have ever had the pleasure of offering :)
    Happy bidding

  • 911Deany (registered bidder) 1 year, 9 monthsago

jeez this would be a crazy a steal at this price!

  • rmcmiami (seller) 1 year, 9 monthsago

@993David Hi, no rubbing whatsoever. My personal 993 runs about a inch lower all the way around with no issues. Proper fitment, suspension and most of all camber plates will achieve the "RS look" without compromising ride quality.

  • rmcmiami (seller) 1 year, 9 monthsago

@sportscarguy3 Hi, the exhaust in detail is beautiful and sounds great. We do not have the factory exhaust system and it is catless. We can help source a factory exhaust for the winning bidder. Service records when buying imported cars unfortunately are scarce, considering the mileage and its current condition its obvious to us this wasn't a barn find or a well taken care of car. Aragostas being the jdm Moton, rear caliper from a facelifted version, 993 fronts, intricate exhaust system, condition of paint, hardware, plating, undercarriage and overall turn in and tightness feel indicates to us its well maintained.

@ABD20152 Hi, this is the original color the car offered on 73' RS's. We found it to be very fitting to the backdate look and extremely rare!

  • Garage5 (registered bidder) 1 year, 9 monthsago

@ABD20152 Murano green is the OG color.

What was the original color of the car? Silver?

  • sportscarguy3 (registered bidder) 1 year, 9 monthsago

Seller, I reviewed the photos again and found interior pictures, including the rear seating area, very clean

  • sportscarguy3 (registered bidder) 1 year, 9 monthsago

Some nice modifications on this Porsche
Have to agree with some other comments about the exhaust not a big fan of seeing so much of it and having it stick out so low
Is there a particular reason for that ?
Also, living here, in Northern California, the car will have to pass California missions, Smog, are their cats on the exhaust system ?
And, or, do you have any of the factory exhaust parts?
Finally, I did not see an answer to a request for maintenance history, service records, if any, and or major engine work , if any as well as last engine out service, if any.
P S. Can you provide some more pictures of the interior, including the rear seat areas
    Thank you

  • 993David (registered bidder) 1 year, 9 monthsago

@seller, there is a lot to like here. It’s pretty low; is there any tire rubbing?

  • rmcmiami (seller) 1 year, 9 monthsago

@TurboFever The red indicator is for the speed activated rear spoiler which is no longer on the car can easily be cleared by pressing the button on the center console

Great looking car! Do you have any service history invoices? In the driving video - What is the red light in the guage 2nd from left?

  • 38ZFX (registered bidder) 1 year, 9 monthsago

Looks very nice but exhaust got to go!! Would be good to know if its a fiberglass fenders or flares on the front?

  • chuckent (registered bidder) 1 year, 9 monthsago

The exhaust set up is a bit unusual. It looks very low.

  • chuckent (registered bidder) 1 year, 9 monthsago

there is no doubt that steel fender flares are preferred over fiberglass, however, the glass ones on this car do look well done.

  • rmcmiami (seller) 1 year, 9 monthsago

@HemiSam The car is in kilometers and actual just a bit over 70,000 at the moment. The widebody was done extremely well and looks like factory quality

Great looking ride. The fiberglass vs steel is relevant...good to see others asked.

There is an indication of an oil leak from the motor....not a big deal in and of itself. It is not clear to me what miles/kilometers are on the driveline?

  • rmcmiami (seller) 1 year, 9 monthsago

    @Jahan 18 inch wheels front tires being 225 40 18 and rear being 295 30 18

  • Nonissan (registered bidder) 1 year, 9 monthsago

  • rmcmiami (seller) 1 year, 9 monthsago

    @d.kerasotes fiberglass

  • rmcmiami (seller) 1 year, 9 monthsago

@chuckent The car has a fiberglass hood which is secured by hood latches

  • 911Deany 1 year, 9 monthsago

Bid in the amount of $52,964

  • chuckent (registered bidder) 1 year, 9 monthsago

It appears that it didn't have a true backdated hood latch section grafted on ,and instead uses an extended hood and 964 hood latch set up. Is the hood fiberglass or has the original hood been lengthened with a steel section welded on?

  • d.kerasotes (registered bidder) 1 year, 9 monthsago

    Steel fender flares?

    Nice car. Great color.

I have to ask about performance chips since I see this car has one. I've thought about getting one for my 91 but have been told they don't work. What chip are you using and what difference in performance have you seen? Anyone else can weigh in with their experience.
