This 1990 Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Coupe is said to have begun life in Belgium before moving to the Netherlands where extensive upgrades and modifications were completed from 2009 to 2015 at a cost of over $75k. The car features a carbon fiber rear wing, hood, and roof panel along with a custom lightweight interior, a roll cage, “Big Red” brakes, Bilstein coilovers, and a modified 3.6-liter engine paired with an overhauled gearbox and a limited-slip differential. Having since been imported and registered in the United States, this 964 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of North Carolina.
This 964 has been modified with a carbon fiber RS 3.8-style rear wing, an exposed carbon fiber roof panel, a carbon fiber hood, a front lip spoiler, side skirts, brake duct inserts, aero mirrors, and modern projector-style headlamps with black housings. Other details include European-spec turn signals and bumpers, carbon-Kevlar fender liners, a chrome exhaust outlet, “Carrera RS” badging, red brake calipers, and 18” multipiece wheels with black-painted centers and colored Porsche crests. The car has been refinished in its original color of Guards Red and rides on a set of new Toyo R888R tires.
The cabin has been stripped, fitted with an FIA-approved roll cage, and custom trimmed with red Alcantara upholstery covering the dashboard and upper RS-style door panels. Other features include a quick-release Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, an aluminum CAE shifter, a red speedometer dial, carbon fiber dashboard trim, diamond plate floorboards, a fire extinguisher, and red QSP safety harnesses. The air conditioning has been eliminated along with the sound system and radio.
The air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine has been modified with a carbon fiber BMC air filter, a carbon fiber heater duct, a carbon fiber fan shroud housing, a sport catalytic converter, and a primary muffler bypass. The front end has been refurbished and the car rides on upgraded Bilstein coilover suspension with an RSR front sway bar and carbon fiber strut brace. Stopping power comes from upgraded “Big Red” Brembo brakes with Pagid pads and stainless steel lines. The seller states the 5-speed G50 manual gearbox has been overhauled and paired with a limited-slip differential and RS Dynamo hubs. The engine has reportedly been driven 8,250 miles since being rebuilt by Paul Geeris in March 2015.
This sale will include owner’s manuals and a clean title.
