Now available for auction is this 1990 Mercedes-Benz W126 420SEL finished in Smoke Silver Metallic over a Brazil Brown leather interior. Among the last of Mercedes-Benz’s W126 S-Class, this second-series 1990 example features the long-wheelbase SEL chassis and 4.2L M116 V8 engine. Recently acquired from the original owner’s estate, this well-preserved W126 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York showing just over 52k miles on the odometer.
This SEL comes finished in Smoke Silver Metallic (702U) with darker lower body cladding separated by chrome moldings. Chrome trim also outlines the windows, door handles, front grille, and tops of the bumpers. The factory 15” 15-hole light-alloy wheels come dressed in a mixed set of Goodyear and Dunlop tires. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a CARFAX report showing an accident to have occurred in 1999.
The interior is trimmed in Brazil Brown leather (273) upholstery with matching carpets and decorative Zebrano wood trim. Factory equipment includes a reading lamp in the rear, automatic climate control, an automatic antenna, electric slide/tilt sunroof, electrically adjustable front seats with memory, headlamp washers, and heat-insulating glass all around. The original Mercedes-Benz AM/FM cassette stereo has been retained.
The 4.2L M116 V8 engine is equipped with Bosch KE-Jetronic electronic fuel injection and sends as much as 210 HP and 228 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 4-speed automatic transmission. The CARFAX report highlights a major 30k-mile service carried out in 2001 including new valve cover gaskets, engine mounts, a fuel pump relay, and a new fuel tank.
This sale will include the original owner's manuals, maintenance booklet, leather key holder, and a clean title. A testament to the craftsmanship and build quality of a bygone era, this sparingly driven 420SEL offers excellent value as a future collector's item.

@carcraze19 owner was a bigger guy and only repair was on the bolster , was just worn color off, was ripped or torn , just dyed that one part , seat is original
@997.2Mac This car has the correct miles , purchased from the original owner with documents , Thank you and good luck bidding
Drivers seat also. It has been repaired and still shows extreme wear. 52k miles??
Just curious - carpet by gas pedal and seats seem to have quite a bit of wear from a low mileage car.
