We are pleased to offer this 1990 Ferrari Testarossa finished in Rosso Corsa over a Pelle Beige and brown leather interior. One of the most celebrated automotive icons of the 1980s, the Testarossa made its debut at the 1984 Paris Motor Show replacing the 512 BBi as Ferrari's flagship mid-engine sports car. This 1990 example is one of only 452 U.S. versions produced for 1990 and has covered under 200 miles between its two owners. It features the venerable Tipo F113 4.9L flat-12-cylinder engine mated to a 5-speed gated manual transmission and is said to have been regularly maintained including a major service within the last 10 years. An exceptionally preserved example accompanied by a Ferrari Classiche Certification, this Testarossa is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.

The Pininfarina-designed bodywork is characterized by its sharp angles and dramatic straked air intakes spanning from the doors to the rear fenders. This U.S. market example can be identified by its rectangular side marker lights, front indicator lenses, black rear bumperettes, and third brake light mounted above the engine cover. It comes finished in traditional Rosso Corsa paint and rides on a set of factory 16” five-spoke wheels dressed in their original Goodyear tires from 1989. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The bucket seats are upholstered in Pelle Beige Connolly Leather along with a brown leather dashboard and center console, two-tone door panels, and tan carpets. The center console houses a traditional gated shifter assembly along with controls for the lights, air conditioning, power windows, and mirrors. The center armrest includes storage space, while the rear parcel shelf is fitted with leather straps for securing luggage. Additional features include electric door locks, a stereo system, tan floor mats with red prancing horse logos, Veglia instrumentation, and a leather-wrapped three-spoke MOMO steering wheel. All gauges and accessories are reported to be fully functional.

As much as 380 HP comes from a mid-mounted Tipo F113 4.9L flat-12 engine with 4-valves-per cylinder, dry-sump lubrication, Marelli Microplex ignition, and Bosch KE-Jetronic fuel injection. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The Testarossa uses front and rear double wishbone suspension while stopping power is provided by four-wheel ventilated disc brakes. The seller has included service records dating back as far as 2004, all of which are from authorized Ferrari dealers in Southern California. The accompanying Classiche book confirms both the engine and gearbox are original.

This sale will include the owner’s literature, window sticker, service records, toolkit, a Ferrari Classiche book, and a clean title.

@CarBuyer5000 It is just from people getting in and out of it over the years, the car is honest and the seller wanted to represent it as such without altering its original state.

  • PCARMARKET 2 yearsago

@essrt8 Hello, the seller is running an event at the moment and is not near a computer. We just contacted him on his mobile and he said the car is original paint, museum quality car.

Can you explain the wear on the seat bolster and emergency break cover?

  • essrt8 (registered bidder) 2 yearsago

Did this car ever have any paint work?

@JMS935 This would be a great addition to the Ferrari museum, basically fresh out of the factory!

  • marconimuseum (seller) 2 yearsago

You will not find another 1990 Ferrari Testarossa with this few miles (171 original miles) and in this pristine of condition out there. This is a true unicorn of its kind and whomever the next owner is, will be getting an incredible car inside and out.

  • JMS935 2 yearsago

Ferrari should really buy this back for their museum.

  • marconimuseum (seller) 2 yearsago

@1000songs This ultra-low mileage Testarossa is ready for it's next owner to enjoy it thoroughly, wether admiring it for it's beauty or pushing it to it's limits.

  • marconimuseum (seller) 2 yearsago

@surfingandy So tempting not to take it for a spin from time to time, but it's low mileage and pristine condition truly makes this car one of a kind!

  • marconimuseum (seller) 2 yearsago

@Parabellum24 That's exactly right! To ensure optimal engine health and longevity.

  • 1000songs 2 yearsago

I bet the guy I saw driving one last night, in Toronto, in December, had more fun with his in 5 minutes than the last two owners combines.

@Nj993c2 The "major service" is dropping the engine to do the timing belts, fluids, etc. It's done on mileage as well as time.

    Amazing car!

Can someone please explain what “major service” could possibly be needed on a car that was never driven? I can understand replacing stale fluids and dry rotted belts, but what else? Or maybe those items are considered major service on a super car like this!?

Absolutely incredible but who has a car like this for 30 years and never drives it? I couldn’t last more than a day.
