Up for auction is this 1990 Chevrolet C4 Corvette ZR-1 finished in Charcoal Metallic over a gray leather interior. The ZR-1 was introduced in 1990 as the most powerful and high-performance Corvette yet, equipped with an all-aluminum 5.7L V8 LT5 engine developed in collaboration with Lotus. This ZR-1 is said to be one of only 41 examples appointed with gray leather and Charcoal Metallic paint, a color offered exclusively in the 1990 model year. It was acquired from its original owner out of Michigan earlier in 2021 and had reportedly been kept in climate-controlled storage since new. Now showing just over 2k miles on the odometer, this 1990 Corvette ZR-1 is being offered for auction out of Pennsylvania accompanied by its original window sticker and complete ZR-1 “Pizza Box”, a serialized leather pouch containing the original gold ZR-1 keychain, owner’s books, and a VHS tape.
This ZR-1 is finished in Charcoal Metallic (U96), a highly desirable color offered for the 1990 model year only. The C4 ZR-1 featured model-specific bodywork including widened rear quarter panels and a convex rear fascia with squared-off taillights. Exterior details include a bronze-tinted removable glass roof panel, painted mirror caps, pop-up headlights, integrated front fog lights, fender vents, quad exhaust outlets, and a ZR-1 badge on the tail panel. This Corvette rides on staggered-width 17” machined “Sawblade” wheels, which remain dressed in original Goodyear Eagle Gatorback tires specially designed for the ZR-1. The seller recommends mounting new tires for road use and describes the finish to be preserved in excellent condition overall, a clean CARFAX report is provided in the gallery.
The interior of this ZR-1 features deeply bolstered six-way power-adjustable sport seats trimmed in light gray leather, with matching carpeting and door panels. Amenities include automatic climate control, a trip computer, power windows and locks, cruise control, a low-pressure tire warning system, and a Delco-Bose Gold Series stereo with a cassette and CD player. All features and accessories are said to remain fully functional.
The C4 ZR-1 is powered by an all-aluminum 32-valve quad-camshaft LT5 V8, developed jointly by Chevrolet and Lotus, and manufactured by Mercury Marine of Stillwater, Oklahoma. The LT5 was factory rated at 375 HP and 370 lb.-ft of torque when new and drives the rear wheels through a ZF 6-speed manual transmission and mechanical limited-slip differential. The ZR-1 can reach 60 MPH from a standstill in less than 5 seconds on to a claimed top speed of 180 MPH. Lotus was also involved in the design of the braking, steering, and suspension systems. The Bilstein FX3 adaptive suspension uses a gas-over-oil shock absorber that allowed the driver to electronically control 6 different damping settings in each of the three driving modes, Touring, Sport, and Performance. Stopping power comes from four-wheel disc brakes with Bosch ABS. Standard routine maintenance has been observed throughout the years and the car has been periodically driven in good weather for mechanical exercise.
This sale will include a set of keys and the complete matching-numbers ZR-1 “Pizza Box”, containing the original window sticker, owner’s manuals, a gold ZR-1 keychain, and an owner’s VHS tape. Beautifully preserved under the care of its original owner, this rare 1990 ZR-1 makes an excellent investment for any collector, do not miss out.

I have owned quite a few Zr1’S and this is definitely one of the nicest I have owned! I had a Black/red car a few years ago with 700 miles on it, this car is cleaner then it was! The owner took very good care of this car and it shows.
@rhmoritz sorry I am traveling accross country buying cars… have been driving. I am not around the car at the moment… but I the injectors have not been replaced.
@Hardhattg I am out of town… I am not with the car. When I am back I will get a photo of the date code, I know it is 100% the original windshield. I am not there To check the CD player and tape but when I am back I will…. I know everything else you asked works just fine I have tried all the other stuff…… as I said before…injectors have not been replaced and I also said tires will need replaced. They are originals and have flat spots… everything works, it is 100% the original windshield and has NOT Delaminating anywhere.
Replacement tires in the correct size are difficult to source unless you want a R-rated track or autocross tread. Primary and secondary injectors are around $770 for a set not including labor for install. Would like to bid, but seller seems reluctant (or unable) to respond to legitimate questions.

Seller , as somone who buys a lot of these c4 Zr1s if you can’t confirm that the cd/ cassette player works , the windshield is original ( just a pic or date info ) the adjustable suspension works , the injectors have been changed ( you did indicate you did not think so on the injectors ) the seat bladders work etx. If you can’t confirm this stuff for us then it has to be assumed They do not operate as intended . as all these items fail over time not mileage and it’s all expensive to fix. I have learned this time and again the hard way. Would love to have some guidance from you.

Beautiful ZR1, cam you please confirm that all three selective ride setting work, also the lumber pumps?
@rhmoritz oil was just changed, I sent videos into pcarmarket but I don’t see them in the ad? I can text them to you if you send me your cell number
Are service records available? When was the last oil change, brake and coolant flush completed? Start up and driving video available?
Beautiful example! Great color! As the owner of a <4k milage example of a ‘90 ZR-1, I can attest…. These cars drive REALLY well. Replace the injectors and tires, and drive it. It’s a blast!

These will one day pop in collectability... still a good buy and this one looks spectacular!
@hardhattg I’ll have to check with the original owner on the injectors but I feel that he probably didn’t replace them. He did take very good care of this car, I do not see any windshield delaminating anywhere. As far as I know everything works. I have never tried the CD player or the cassette player but I know the radio works, speakers sound good. Car was stored in a climate controlled 65 degree temp year around garage with 15 other classic cars since day 1. Every thing works that I have tried, both seats all functions. Car starts, runs, drives like it should… now it does have flat spots in the tires, and they are the originals so I would replace them if I planned on using it and definitely want to keep these for future NCRS Judging
Can seller verify if the original fuel injectors have been replaced to run with todays fuels or are they still original ? Also can seller verify that the common time worn issues with these cars such as radio ( all four speakers and cassette and CD player ) function properly as well as both seats lumbar support ? Any issue with transmission synchros ? Does car pop out of any gear etc ? Beautiful car glws - also can you provide a close up of windshield delam as all these cars have delaminated windshields to one degree or another or has it been replaced ?
