Available for auction is this 1990 Chevrolet 454 SS finished in Onyx Black over a burgundy cloth interior. Based upon the fourth-generation Chevrolet C/K Series, the 454 SS was produced between 1990 and 1993 and featured a big block 454 V8 engine, Bilstein dampers, and rear-wheel drive. This 1990 example is believed to have been originally purchased by its first owner out of Texas and remained under their care for over 20 years before it was acquired by its second owner out of Oklahoma. Under the care of its second owner, the truck received extensive upgrades and modification courtesy of renowned hot rod builder Johnny Young. It was acquired by the seller in October 2020. Some of its notable upgrades include custom bodywork, a cowl hood, hand-laid pinstripes, Edelbrock headers, tuned port injection, a Sony stereo system, a set of 20” Ridler 675 wheels, and more. This Chevrolet is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Pennsylvania.
The 454 SS was based on the lightest full-size truck in Chevrolet’s line-up, the two-wheel drive, short-bed, single-cab C1500. This example comes finished in Onyx Black with red pinstripes and custom airbrush graphics. Extensive modifications have been performed to the body including the filled factory taillights and stake pockets, shaved tailgate latch, a roll pan with Corvette ZR-1 taillights, a billet grill, and a 1969 Camaro cowl hood which has been grafted to the stock steel hood. It rides on a set of 20” Ridler 675 wheels finished in black and dressed in Sumitomo HTR A/S P02 tires. The seller notes a minor imperfection on the hood and additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin features burgundy cloth spanning the seats, door panels, and carpets, along with a matching dashboard. Upgrades include billet trim throughout including on-the-seat panels and pedals, and a custom dashboard panel with a built-in Sport Comp tachometer. Other features consist of a Budnik billet steering wheel, an upgraded Sony stereo system, power windows and locks, air conditioning, cruise control, and a center armrest.
Power comes from a 7.4-liter 454c.i. V8 engine which Chevrolet sourced from its Silverado 3500-series trucks. Factory-rated at 230 HP and 385 lb-ft of torque, the engine has been further upgraded with tuned port injection, Edelbrock headers, and a custom catless exhaust system. Power is sent to the rear wheels by way of a 3-speed automatic transmission. The 454 SS came from the factory with a sport-tuned suspension which included Bilstein dampers and a thicker front sway bar. The CARFAX includes 2 service history records dating back to 1999, and the seller notes that under their care the truck has been treated to a new interstate battery, fuel pump, a rebuilt distributor, rewired taillights, a custom hood liner, and fresh fluids. Receipts for the above-mentioned service are available for reference in the gallery.
This sale will include the owner’s literature and a clean title.

Ya. I didn't think so. Thanks for the response.
No Cats & thanks for the Bid .
@Grigzzz- hello. Your truck looks and sounds really nice. Would you happen to still have the cats for the exhaust? I'm in California and well, we know how that goes. If I am fortunate to win the auction I'll need to have them added.
Thanks,
Vince
