BMW’s original M3 sports car, this 1990 E30 is finished in Sterling Silver Metallic and features an upgraded S14 engine with a JB Racing aluminum flywheel, carbon fiber intake manifold, a Haltech ECU, coil-on-plug ignition, and more. The car has also been fitted with EVO-style body parts, Euro bumpers, custom BBS wheels, a Rogue Engineering short shifter, Koni shocks, and other tasteful upgrades. Showing approximately 105k miles on the odometer, this first-generation M3 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California.

This M3 is said to have been refinished in its original Sterling Silver Metallic color in 2004 and rides on a set of custom 17” BBS RS wheels from Ehrlich Wheel Works of Mocksville, North Carolina. The body has been fitted with front brake ducts, European-style bumpers, an M3 EVO II front lip, a reproduction EVO III rear wing, and Euro “smiley” headlights. Dent repair was carried out in 2020 and the CARFAX report shows damage to the front and rear of the vehicle in 2003. The car is currently equipped with Toyo Poxes Sport tires that were mounted in 2021.

The black leather interior includes reupholstered heated front seats, an M-Tech II steering wheel, M-branded floor mats, a Rogue Engineering short shifter, and a custom sound system featuring upgraded speakers as well as a Pioneer amplifier and Bluetooth head unit. The seller notes the air conditioning system has been updated to R134a and was recently serviced, the shift linkage was repaired under previous ownership, and the check light panel above the rearview mirror is currently disconnected.

Power comes from a 2.3-liter S14 inline four-cylinder engine featuring an upgraded JB Racing aluminum flywheel, aftermarket camshafts, and ceramic-coated headers which were installed under prior ownership. Since 2020 under the seller’s ownership, an upgraded carbon fiber intake manifold has been installed along with a K&N air filter, coil-on-plug ignition kit, a camshaft sensor and crankshaft trigger kit, and a Haltech Elite 1000 ECU with a WB1 wideband kit. The catalytic converter has been removed and the exhaust is fitted with a Borla muffler and Supersprint mid-section. A 5-speed Getrag manual transmission is paired with a limited-slip differential that distributes power to the rear wheels. A new AKG double-shear selector rod is said to have been installed in 2021 along with a new shaft locking plate and seal. The suspension has also been upgraded with Koni shocks and Eibach lowering springs.

Under the current ownership, the engine was serviced with new rod bearings and bolts, a valve adjustment, spark plugs, gaskets, belts, a throttle cable, fuel injectors, an oil separator, and coolant system parts. More recent services completed in 2021 included the replacement of the brake and power steering hoses, brake booster and check valve, transmission and differential fluid, and tie rods and boots.

This sale will include a clean title.

This is verbatim from previous owner regarding the accident…

I was at a stoplight and had my head down flipping through my CD wallet, car in neutral, foot just touching the brake but barely. I was hit from behind and then rolled into the car in front of me. Insurance replaced both bumper covers (I ordered euro market versions with no side markers) and I arranged to have the entire car repainted at that time when it was in the body shop. I used a shop I was friendly with and that is when I added the euro tow hook covers, EVOIII brake ducts, EVOII chin spoiler and the Carbon Fiber EVOIII rear wing (came from Markus in Germany, a notorious supplier in the e30 m3 community).

@jtex21 Oh, thank you! I missed that.

  • jtex21 (seller) 1 year, 7 monthsago

@JerrBear appreciate your question. In the photos there are the CARFAX reports from that accident. Occurred with previous owner. I will post his version of what occurred as he posted it when he listed it for sale

There is a mention of a small accident that appears to have been fixed well and also a clean title. Is there a carfax you are willing to share for this vehicle?
