This 1990 BMW E30 325iS Coupe comes finished in Black over a matching vinyl interior and features an upgraded S14 engine derived from the legendary E30 M3. Additionally, this 325iS has been converted to a 5-speed manual transmission and fitted with a Stromung exhaust, rebuilt Z3 steering rack, new brakes, suspension, and more. An excellent choice for any vintage driving enthusiast, this S14-powered 325iS is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Massachusetts.
This E30 is finished in Black and features a front air dam and rear spoiler unique to the iS model. Additions include reproduction AC Schnitzer carbon fiber side mirrors, Kamei front eyebrows, a UHMW PE front splitter, and Bosch European specification headlamps. The 17” BMW DS 1 alloy wheels are dressed in a set of Yokohama S Drive tires and BMW Motorsport pinstripes have been hand-painted down the side of the car and the seller reports some road-going wear throughout the exterior.
The black vinyl interior includes original Recaro sport seats with new gas assist shocks, a factory sunroof, an aftermarket titanium Cavallino pedal set, a double-wrapped sport steering wheel, and an M-Sport shift knob as well as a set of Coco floor mats. There is no air conditioning system installed and the seller reports an error light appears intermittently on the dashboard without reason. The odometer is currently inoperable and the true mileage is unknown.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 2.3-liter inline four-cylinder S14 engine sourced from a 1989 BMW M3 The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed manual gearbox believed to have also been sourced from the same M3 donor car. An upgraded Stromung exhaust has been installed and the brakes and suspension are said to have been replaced during the drivetrain swap about 3k miles ago along with the installation of a rebuilt steering rack sourced from a BMW Z3 1.9. A 5-lug conversion has been completed using a Z3M rear suspension and E36 MW front struts. Other significant mechanical work carried out at this time is documented in corresponding service records.
This sale will include a clean title.

Not sure about the check engine light as is came on with the original engine.
There is a service that rebuilts the board that controls it.
The engine has been extensively refurbished and runs strong.
As for the odomemter, I don't know that is doesn't work,
as I have other cars and drive them intermittantly.
It is a car that I wouldn't hesitate taking it on a long road trip or DE event or anything in between.
Has a mechanic looked into why the engine check light comes on? Can’t a mechanic get the odometer to work?
Thanks

The car was equipped with a/c and the original system may be on the M20 engine which is included if some one would like it.
I dig get a quote from the shop that did the S-14 rebuild/conversation of $1500 to add a new a/c system.
Hello, was this car originally equipped with AC, if so, how much of the interior AC components remain?

The paint is driver quality. It presents well but was built to be a driver.
Having said that it has maybe 3000 miles on the build.
As for fresh photos, I will shot some and just completed a couple of videos.
When I started out on modding an E30 I looked at the typical S50/52 and later the S52.
An acquaintance who was involved in the original 325is roll out raved about the near 50/50 weight distribution and didn’t like the idea of a “big’” six..
The S-14 is an iconic engine in BMW motorsports going from the original 1800 Tisa to F-1.
That’s my thought process on selecting it. Not much more powerful than the M20 but a beautiful piece. And the weight is further aft.
It is a fun ride and I selected components from the BMW sport inventory.
The ride is supple, drivers position is very ergonomic and the S-14 loves to rev.
As for current picture, I will take some
Do you have any new fresh photos from like this week or last to show ? Ain’t these a couple of years old photos ? Thanks .
