Up for auction is this 1989 Porsche 944 Turbo finished in Guards Red over a Linen and black leather interior. Built to the same specifications as the previous model year’s Turbo S variant, the 1989 Porsche 944 Turbo features a more powerful engine, a 5-speed manual gearbox with a limited-slip differential, and the M030 Sport Suspension Package as standard equipment. This 944 has been cared for by its current owner for approximately 30 years and is now being offered for auction at no reserve out of Washington.
Finished in Guards Red, this Turbo can be distinguished from a standard 944 by its aerodynamic front nose and body-colored rear diffuser. Removable checkered-flag graphics have been applied to either side. It rides on factory staggered-width 16” Club Sport wheels which have been painted in charcoal and dressed in a set of Toyo Proxes tires. The seller states there is a dent on the left rear wheel and that some paint touch-ups were performed, while some minor imperfections remain in the paint and within the clear coat along the front fenders. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The interior is trimmed in Linen and black leather featuring a custom-made dashboard cover with red stitching and a Kenwood Stereo with a factory 10-speaker system. The seller confirms all gauges and accessories are working properly except for the digital clock, and noted replacement parts have been ordered to repair the sunroof mechanism. Some tears, cracking, and discoloration has also been noted in the cabin.
Offering the same specifications as the previous model year’s Turbo S, this 1989 Turbo is equipped with a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine rated at 250 HP and 258 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven via a 5-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential providing for a 0-60 time of approximately 5.5 seconds and a factory-rated top speed of 162 MPH. The seller states that the engine control unit, driveline, clutch, turbo, and suspension have been restored with OEM parts along with the installation of a new stainless steel free-flow exhaust system. It is also noted the steering rack may need replacement.
This sale will include a clean title. The CARFAX report shows a potential odometer discrepancy in October 2019, although the seller contests that the mileage displayed in the vehicle is accurate.

@CLEARVUDAVE Good point, as I MapQuest the drive it's probably not best for the winter. Although I took my '89 944T skiing (once, bad idea)!
@URS6 Sure...
But this time of year?
I'd ship it, and save those miles, closer to home?
Do you think the car could survive a cross country road trip for me and my 12 year old son?
No Runs...No Drips...No worrys

I'll get Her to turn 230K by end of this weekend!
@URS6 Hi and good morning.
The dash cover is velcroed on... there's cracks from using armor all back in '97.
I'm not going to lift it!
I don't remember about the shocks and springs...per say?
Other than my earlier comments..."If something needed to be replaced... I did it with OEM parts.
She runs out great, with no shake in the steering wheel at 80mph plus...I can take a video of that if you want?
Thanks for your interest in "RED".
@CLEARVUDAVE thanks Dave, sorry if I missed the timing belt in 2018. So 4 years, about how many miles?
Could you post pictures of the dashboard under the cover please? Does it have any if the usual cracking?

Hi again...
This car was bought new on 2.28.90 in Austin Texas, by a female Sales Pro.
It was sold to a guy in Montana, that got Busted for Fraud...in 1995.
I got it from Bank hired to sell the Guy's Assets.
I've owned and loved her ever since.
Almost 150 K miles are cruising from Spokane to Portland, Or....
And Salt Lake City.
She's that comfortable ...?
Thanks, for your comments,
Dave.?
Are you the 2nd owner?
The build sheet is on one of the pics?
I can send a seperate one later today.
Dave.
Hope everything is going well with the wife.

Hi...Dave here.

What options do you want to know?
I Have the Factory build sheet?
The engine ... bottom end in '96.
Turbo was replaced In 2007.
Top-end rebuilt in 2018.
Suspension parts replaced as needed.
There's been no accidents...but I know what you mean.
Thanks, for ck'ing in.
She runs better now than she has in years!
Wife's health is reason for sale...?
Was it in a front end accident? The driver side nose gap looks a little off.
Do you happen to have a picture of the options sticker? has the engine been rebuilt? How about the turbo? I see the clutch was recently replaced. How is the suspension holding up?
