The Porsche 930 entered its final model year in 1989 and gained an improved 5-speed G50 manual transaxle. This example is one of 857 Porsche 911 Turbo Coupes produced for markets outside of the U.S. during the model year and was commissioned through Porsche’s Sonderwunsch (Special Wishes) program by Porsche in Doha, Qatar, on behalf of the royal family and is believed to have been personally ordered new by Sheikh Khalifa Bin Hamad Al Thani in early October 1988. It comes finished in rare Velvet Red Metallic paint and is designated with the unique Porsche factory option code 09991, indicating "By Hand" assembly. The cabin showcases Pearl White Leather to Sample upholstery with Velvet Red contrasts and wood trim. The car was also optioned with yellow fog lights, a headlight leveling system, supple leather seats, an electric sunroof, a limited-slip differential, an elevated steering wheel hub, and more. Currently residing in Alabama, it was fully inspected and serviced upon import in 2022 by the Porsche Classic Center in San Diego, California for a full set of services and safety checks as well as complete certification and verification. Supported by a Porsche Classic Technical Certificate, a Porsche Production Specifications Certificate, and service records dating back over two decades, this remarkable 930 is now being offered for auction with approximately 118 kilometers (73k miles) on the odometer.
This 930 came factory-finished in Velvet Red Metallic (LM3U), a new Special Order color for the 1989 model year. It was optioned with front fog lights in yellow, a headlight leveling system, an electric-sliding sunroof, a Securiflex windscreen, and rear fender stone guard protection. Other equipment includes a rear window wiper, European-spec side marker lights, a front air dam, a rear Tea Tray spoiler, a roof-mounted antenna, a dual-tipped muffler, and 16” Fuchs alloy wheels with colored Porsche crest center caps. The brake calipers have been painted yellow and factory Turbo style are applied along each side. It rides on a set of Continental ContiSportContact tires measuring 205/55 front and 245/45 rear. Detailed images and paint meter readings are provided in the gallery.
Crafted by Porsche’s Special Wishes department, the cabin is lined with Velvet Red carpeting and features Pearl White Leather to Sample upholstery contrasted by Velvet Red leather covering the window pillars, shifter, steering wheel, headliner, sun visors, and seat piping. Other accessories include a pair of heated and electrically adjustable Sport Seats in supple leather, a wood veneer dashboard fascia, a wood shift knob, an elevated steering wheel hub, stainless-steel Turbo script door sills, a climate control system, central locking system, power windows and mirrors, a rear window defroster, an analog quartz clock, and an aftermarket Blaupunkt stereo with upgraded speakers.
This 930 is equipped with its original turbocharged and intercooled 3.3-liter flat-six engine that delivers up to 300 HP to the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed G50 manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Stopping power comes from cross-drilled and ventilated disc brakes at each corner. The seller indicates the car was thoroughly serviced and inspected by the Porsche Classic Center in San Diego in 2022 and accompanying documentation is included along with service records dating back to 2001.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, service records, a Porsche Classic Technical Certificate, a Porsche Production Specifications Certificate, a certificate of delivery, and a clean Montana title.

@Halrumaithi It's all original paint except the hood, that was repainted by the prior owner due to rock chips (as shown in the paint meters); no PPF currently is installed.
@ehd911 is there any paint or ppf applied on the hood?

@Autotrend Yes; we always try to support the Barber event and always bring several very special cars to display inside their wonderful & cool Museum setting, as we did for their 10.2023 event.
i recall seeing it for sale at the auction last year held at barber motorsport park.
@IGB911 Symbolic_International out of San Diego CA imported and sold the Special Wishes PTS Velvet 930 Turbo to a dealer in SC; we purchased it from the SC dealer (the Elferspot listing referenced was ours).
A truly unique example. It looks like the same car was listed by Symbolic_International (great seller!) on BAT on 6/3/22 and it RNM with a high bid of $154,930. The car was also listed for sale on Elferspot. Can you please help us understand what have happened since the BAT auction? Many thanks in advance.
@GrandNatty The Special Wish/Sondererwunsch Options (Z-Code Options) included (00301) Pearl White seats and wood (wood veneer on the dash & shifter), leather and other material for the interior. The initial ordered seats were replaced by Porsche in favor of heated power-adjustable front Sport Seats in Black, when it was sent back to Porsche by it's original owner for a revised interior (as shown in the Porsche Classic Technical Certificate certification ("CTC") ); it's prior owner reverted the interior back to it's original Pearl White, sans the Velvet red piping.
Oh Lord. This one is going to be interesting.
No seat piping?? I'm out. How much for that junkyard dawg in pic 6?
Curious as to what happened to the front seat piping in Velvet Red leather?
@ehd911 - minor things, but wood and sport seats not on factory documentation? All other custom work is. Thoughts?
