Marking the final year of the Carrera 3.2, this 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe is finished in Guards Red over a black interior. It features a desirable 5-speed G50 manual transmission, front and rear spoilers, an electric sunroof, 16” Fuchs forged alloy wheels, a Fabspeed Maxflow stainless sport muffler, a Fabspeed sport cat, and an upgraded Carrera Cup airbox. The car was purchased by the seller in 2022 and has since received a major engine-out service, a gearbox service, a new clutch, rear Bilstein shocks, fuel lines, a new shift coupler, a paint correction, ceramic coating, and more. Showing approximately 70k miles on the odometer, this Carrera Coupe is now being offered for auction out of Connecticut.
This 911 is finished in Guards Red and equipped with integrated front fog lights, a rubber front chin spoiler, an electric sunroof, a rear spoiler, a stainless-steel Fabspeed exhaust tip, and 16” Fuchs forged alloy wheels. New Bridgestone Potenza S02 tires were mounted within the last 2 years. The seller states the windshield was recently replaced along with the front chin spoiler, and the driver’s side door and front bumper were previously refinished. The car also underwent full paint correction and ceramic coating in 2023. The exterior is described to be in good condition with some signs of wear consistent with the vehicle’s age. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The black interior includes partial leather seats, a four-spoke leather steering wheel, power windows and door locks, air conditioning, automatic heater control, a quartz clock, a locking glovebox, an alarm system, and a Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 DAB radio. All gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional.
Factory-rated at 217 HP, the air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six engine drives the rear wheels through a 5-speed G50 manual transaxle. The engine was fitted with a Fabspeed Maxflow stainless sport muffler, a Fabspeed stainless-steel sport cat, and an upgraded Carrera Cup airbox under current ownership. A major engine out service was performed including a leak-down test, valve adjustments, rebuilt fuel injectors, new fuel lines, a new front fuel strainer, spark plugs, sensors, and engine bay insulation. The gearbox was overhauled with new 1st and 2nd gears, bearings, synchronizers, a shift coupler, a new clutch kit, a slave cylinder, and a new clutch fork. New rear Bilstein shocks were installed, and the rear axle joints were repacked and fitted with new boots. Corresponding service invoices are included in the sale.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, an air pump, a car cover, a battery charger, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Thanks for your interest. I am a collector, and this is one of my favorites but it must go due to limited storage. Car is very well cared for and I have been a fanatic about addressing every little thing. Recently had the gearbox partially rebuilt by a top Porsche shop because I felt a small anomaly when shifting. While the engine was out I did a full service including injectors, lines, valves, leak down test, sensors, full clutch kit, axles, shocks - you name it. Over $18,000; have all receipts. Also, paint correction and ceramic coating in the last 2 years. Interior still smells new. Car is loved, beautiful, and runs great because of the crazy obsessed owner!”

It is difficult to read any of the specifics on the receipts that you show. When was the engine out major service conducted? And can you share the leak down numbers along with the receipt for the gearbox refresh?
It is the pass side door and fender that were resprayed. See the paint meter photos. The driver's side fender, door, hood, roof, rear etc all original. It was a class job, though. I defy anyone to tell with the naked eye. It's very well done, and what you'd expect for a car like this.
Passenger side of car was touched up by previous owner. Included fender and door. Said it was scratched up; I don't know more. Both rear 1/4's (flare areas) were also touched up due to chips at the same time. The car never had the chip guards on the rears.
I do not have the original exhaust parts. The muffler was tired and I'm sure the cat was clogged. The airbox is just missing the plastic cover; it is replaced by the cup frame (see the gold frame in the photo) which allows the air filter to be fully exposed.

Original exhaust and air box? Why was the paint work done?

Good morning. Thanks for taking an interest in my '89. I absolutely love this car, and it pains me to part with it. But I have several others and I need the room (and, it may be a "wife" thing, too...). It's an absolute joy to see in the garage, and the sound with the fabspeed exhaust is amazing - not loud, but orchestral. I hope you can hear it in the driving video. I just e-mailed the shop to get the leak down test results. Honestly, I recall that everything was great, and the car makes power like it was new. One of the best things when you first get in, it still smells new inside - I don't know how. Anyway, happy to answer all questions and provide any follow up. Just give me a little time to respond. Thank you, everyone.
Someone is going to be very happy to be the new owner of this gem. It would help greatly if the leak-down test results were posted. GLWA!
